  1. Ugh, the raffle! They still go on during shows over here. Nothing more guaranteed to suck the momentum out of a show than the raffle.
  2. Worked a couple of James Mason promoted shows this weekend just gone. His work as a villain against a midget was absolutely fucking tremendous. He's an hilarious villain as well as his always fine blue eye performances. He nearly got the referee lynched on Friday night working as a blue eye and losing due to the ref not seeing the villain's feet on the ropes. He's fantastic at getting the crowd into things.
  3. Only two months until it becomes a really great watch. 2001 WCW is booked in a basic fashion, but it works really well. 2001, or those three months) were really good TV. The dog end of 2000 is decent as well though. Basic booking works, and it's what WCW needed.
  4. Yeah. He had a half decent series with DiBiase Jr around that time as well, if I remember correctly.
  5. If you're fans of ASW, give Welsh Wrestling a try. We use a lot of the same guys, similar style of shows, so on and so forth.
  6. Fuck Scottish nationalists.
  7. Would that be because Piper was kayfabe British?
  8. Please do share. Bob Backlund and Pedro Morales defeated The Wild Samoans (Afa and Sika) in a two out of three falls match, 2-0 at Showdown at Shea on August 9th 1980. Horsemen-Blonds in 1993 and Benoit-Angle at Insurrextion 2001 come to mind as well. Didn't MVP vs Benoit finish 2-0 as well?
  9. I always thought it was around Australia tour time?
  10. Not a clue. I remember when you're on about though. Early 2000s on S4C Digidol bookmarked by C'Mon Midffild repeats. Unfortunately most of the tapes I got out of the loft were damaged by damp, but there's some cracking episodes of Pobol Y Cwm on the ones that survived.

Dustin Rhodes seems to age like a fine wine, doesn't he? He looked brilliant tonight.
  12. Top, top match. Fuck what that miserable, ungrateful and cheap twat Foley says. Mero was a decent worker. I love that match! What does Foley say? And what makes you say he's a sleazy horrible shit?! His behaviour at a convention I worked with him at was horrible. Not a pleasant man to the people who paid their hard earned for a picture with him, tried to get people to buy him food although he made a shedload that day, and his demeanour when he talks to females is really slimy. He's like a fucking lounge lizard when he speaks to them. Really uncomfortable stuff. His weird behaviour in Hardcore Diaries when he talks about Melina should have been a massive hint, in hindsight.
  13. Mick Foley is a penis. After having to work with him, he's a horrible and sleazy shite.
  14. Top, top match. Fuck what that miserable, ungrateful and cheap twat Foley says. Mero was a decent worker. As regards the OP though, I imagine they had a fair few hours to plan that match out. Arn Anderson was a fucking superstar in it though. Top stuff.
  15. I've recently done a clearance of my mum's attic, and it's full of Reslo VHS, complete with Welsh language commercials. One I watched yesterday had Otto Wanz trying and failing to rip up phone books on it and Bryn Fon not knowing what to do. One of them will probably have William Regal on it as STEVE JONES Y CAERDYDD (of Cardiff) on it bumping for Orig Williams to clean up. Unfortunately a lot of them appear to be damp damaged though.
  16. Lucha's a type of Wrestling though isn't it? So it should surely get upper case importance, due to it being important in a Wrestling place.
  17. UKFF misses you Ron, where have you been?
  18. An old Reslo VHS recorded off S4C (Guessing the year, probably about 1994) A ladder match between Fit Finlay and "Doink" The Clown. Lord knows who is Doink on this. But it's fucking rancid. Really, really, shocking.
  19. Don't worry Dubs, I won't from here on in. I love wrestling, that's why I joined and really love reading this forum. Wrestling is one of my favourite things in the world, if not the. I love coming on here and reading JDW, Bix and Ohtani's Jacket, and it's like a learning tree to sit under. But if I'm going to be talked down to on here by boys with bigger penises then me, then maybe it's not for me as I can't articulate my opinions. Probably best going back to lurking.
  20. I'm not playing the Martyr, I just don't like feeling that I have to defend myself.

I'd say Shawn looking like Lucky Kleinschmidt with a beard would go in DB's favour in this kind of situation. But I'm just dreading when HHH does HBK over and we have to suffer Michaels doing his best Dick Shawn "acting".
  22. How did Bobby Heenan signing over the contract for WCW Pro to Sonny Onoo work? That's some Ronnie P Gossett shit right there.
  23. So wait, if someone likes something, but doesn't know why they like it then they're lazy or something, or just don't want to put the effort in? Alright then lad... No, but it strikes me as odd that someone would be interested in going on a message board to write "i thought that was cool" and then log off. There is an expectation in a setting like this that the level of engagement will expand at least beyond what you might find on Twitter. I don't think it is even bordering on pretentious to make that point. No, but I've seldom written as you've said. What I said, if you'd go back and read it, is I like what I like and I can't put a finger on why I like what I like yet I can go into what I don't like quite easily. And more importantly, you've come in too late. I thought JVK was being pretentious quite long ago, and then it was explained that he really isn't, it's just the way he is, so I stepped away from it as people have their own way of expressing themselves. People are people, as the song went. All it was, was two people communicating in a completely different manner (Welcome to Wales). Good use of "setting like this" though. It's almost as if it's not a forum but some kind of fucking bible when you phrase it like that. Fact of the matter is this. As far as I'm concerned the GOAT are the people who's matches I enjoy the greatest. I like to watch wrestling and smile as I do so. I don't like to think about it as I do. I like to turn my stresses and shite off for a few hours and enjoy some of the wrestling. I just enjoy something, and I enjoy some people more than others, not for any real reason. I just do. And that's all there is to it. I like to read what other people think of things on here, and it's very enlightening, but I'm not so verbose, or so serious about it. I just like to pop a DVD in and watch my favourites. If that's not good enough then I apologise.
  24. I've often wondered about that kind of thing. If Shawn Michaels signs his name on a contract that clearly states "Chris Benoit" all over it, surely it can't be legally binding? They should have got Clarence Mason in to look at that as part of the build up to the match. Another legal wrangle I didn't understand was the feud of the rights to the letter T between Booker T and Big T. How does Booker T own T? And how did the ownership of the letter T get put up in a match anyway? I believe Clarence Mason was front and centre with that one as well.
  25. What's a value judgement? I finished my MA in 2007. I like to talk like normal people now. At least when I'm just bumming about on wrestling forums when I'm bored, anyway.
