I'd put the booking near the bottom, the top to bottom in ring talent pretty high(despite the lack of many true main eventers), and the promo work with the scripted garbage promos near the bottom. It kinda bums me out because there's so many talented people that the WWE basically refuses to let me enjoy with it's shitty booking. I see Luke Harper take out Reigns and Brock on Raw with some great looking offense, and it frustrates the hell out of me how he's been treated like a sack of shit over the past year.

It's a weird time where they have a bunch of new guys coming in, but you don't know who is going to NXT or the main roster. They also have several main roster ready acts already in NXT. This feels like the calm before the storm there has to be some big things happening at the next tv taping.

It's going to take Brock vs Nakamura to get me to care about a Mania with HHH vs Roman as the main event. I wonder if the international press they would get for Brock/Nak would make it a bigger deal than Lesnar facing someone like Bray or Sheamus. I'm leaning towards yes. Plus everyone knows those guys have no shot at beating Brock. If they build up Nakamura as the best wrestler from Japan, and make Mania his first WWE match it could at least make some casual fans interested to see what he can do. Plus it would be the best match on the show by a mile.

I'm not going to be surprised if we get Brock vs Roman at Fastlane and HHH vs Roman at Mania. I think it's a foregone conclusion HHH is going to headline the biggest Mania ever. Brock vs Orton and Taker vs Sheamus will probably round out that shit show while NXT puts on their best show ever(especially if Nakamura and Styles are there).

At least you could laugh at the ridiculousness of the DOD so that makes them more entertaining than The Authority.
-
They had a chance to make guys like Bray, Rusev, and Reigns last year at Mania and didn't. That left them with no real stars to build their product around for 2015. They had better use these legend appearances to get the young guys over or they'll continue to headline their shows with people the fans don't see as real stars.

He had the tools to be one of the best ever, and when he was in there with a vet he would listen to you could see the unlimited potential. Left on his own he was like a really skilled guitar player that would just wank all over the song instead of playing things that made sense.
-
I just don't think he's a good fit for the modern WWE high spot heavy 2.9 style. All his best promo work has been the unscripted post show promos that end up not being seen by 95% of the fan base. Most of his biggest strengths as a wrestler are things WWE shuns.

The booking speaks for itself of course it's true.

How long would it take to recondition the fans to accept mat work in WWE? The style has basically become 4 minute AE sprints stretched out to 15/20 minutes. They have the talent to start bringing it back.

Wasn't there a dude a few years ago that knew he had hiv and was wrestling in death matches bleeding on everyone? Hard to top that one.

Cena and Reigns are the only interesting options, and Cena makes the most sense for 32.

From where I'm sitting Zayn is the best match to match storyteller in WWE, and the best babyface promo in WWE. Cena is the only guy that's close in that regard, but I prefer Zayn because it doesn't feel like a used car salesman talking to me when Zayn is selling me on a feud. I can't imagine he'd be outside my top 5 as a worker either. The guy took Neville and carried him to a great long term feud in and out of the ring. As for what Zayn brings that Bryan doesn't. He brings clean bill of health for starters, and the chances his body will fall apart right in the middle of a push is far less than DB right now. I think Zayn is a better at drawing sympathy, sells better, is a better promo, and probably has flashier high spots as well. All the things Bryan does better than Zayn(like working on top and mat work) don't matter much for a WWE babyface.
-
Zayn is a better worker and a better talker than Balor. He's pretty much the perfect replacement for Bryan, and I think he's a slightly better babyface than Bryan with his awesome heartfelt promos. I think the fans showed they really don't care about looks by choosing Bryan as their guy so if Balor doesn't make it I really don't think it effects Zayn(who's superior to Balor in every way besides looks). I think Balor will be fine probably he'll have a few IC and US title reigns, and will sell a decent amount of merch. As for Bayley I have no clue they haven't done anything interesting with Charlotte, Sasha, and Becky in 6 months. In fact those 3 are probably less over now than they were at the start of the angle since they don't have their NXT matches to get them some smark buzz anymore. I think Chad Gable has looked pretty good working underneath so far. He seems to have that natural likeable babyface charisma.

I don't think as many of the NXT fans are going to Raws as what some people think. It may be in the same building, but it's clearly not the same fans. I believe there are quite a few fans out there like me who don't really watch or give a shit about the main roster that love to watch NXT every week. NXT has filled the WWE portion of my wrestling needs so fuck the main roster bullshit. Sasha and Becky had my third favorite WWE match in 2015. I'm big a big fan of their work, but I'm not going to go out of my way to see a random Raw match with no build, story, or stakes to it unless I hear it's a MOTYC(and not one of those shitty indy kickout fest so called motyc).

Athena should step right in, and be near the top of the women's division when they debut her. I imagine Joe/Itami will be the program for Hideo when he comes back. I seem to remember those two working like they really didn't like each other in ROH. Balor/Corbin will probably be at the February Takeover with Balor/Zayn the most likely main event for Dallas with Bayley vs Asuka close behind. I think Cass & Enzo vs Jordan and Gable would be a pretty big match if they want to run it, but if not Jordan and Gable beating Dash/Dawson in Dallas for the belts would be fine. Crews is the wild card here I'm sure they're high on him, but I haven't been that impressed. Crews vs Balor or Corbin for the belt does nothing for me. Corbin beating Balor and defending against Sami would be pretty sweet. Also I need to see a Joe/Zayn match while Joe is on fire.
-
Sacrificing the roster for a guy that shows up 5 times a year is how they got to the point they're at now with one young guy that's kind of a star and the rest being nobodies.
-
Joe deserves a run on the big show he's looked terrific lately. How fucking awesome is Bayley vs Asuka going to be? Really good showing from Emma I have no idea why they can't use a woman that attractive and that talented on the main roster. Crews kinda sucks. I thought Finn did most of the heavy lifting in their match a few weeks ago, and Corbin completely out classed him here.

New Day is the best act in the company, and that could've been a turning point for Kalisto hitting the spot of the year.
-
Why do they keep booking acts the fans want to cheer as heels?
-
Did they try to kill Sasha in her hometown with that awful skit before the match? Pretty odd they tried to force her to work heel during the match knowing the crowd wants to cheer her. Typical swimming against the current WWE booking. Watching this makes me realize why I never watch the main roster anymore because that was a match where nobody looks better coming out of it. Oh and fuck ads on a pre show.
-
Cena vs Taker with the streak on the line would've been something special from a fan reaction standpoint. It'll still be awesome just not as awesome as it could have been.

What WAS the biggest WCW PPV each year in the Bischoff reign?
jcmmnx replied to thebrainfollower's topic in Pro Wrestling
I don't think there was a match I wanted to see less than Hogan vs Piper in 1996. Digging up a 10 year old feud from another company in the middle of your best and biggest angle of all time is such a WCW move.
