  1. The Broadway is divisive. I liked it a lot, but I've only seen it the once, about 6 or so years ago. I know Parv, one of my partners on the Titans of Wrestling podcast (mostly about Backlund era WWF) hated it. I really didn't like the finish to the March 79 match. Valentine returns to NYC in 1981 and the two of them have several classic matches during that run. 11/23/81 at MSG is my all-time favorite Backlund match
  2. Backlund and Valentine had two matches at MSG in 79. 2/19 (a Broadway) and 3/26, the one on the recent youtube upload
  3. Patterson vs Bob from 7/30/79 MSG is the real money match of that series. Anyone interested in this era should track that one down
  4. Any potential Brainbuster champ to be wouldn't need to ask that question
  5. There is no footage of Bruno vs Pedro, unfortunately
  6. http://convert2mp3.net/en/ Just copy and paste the url from the youtube video into the "Insert video link" bar and select mp4 from the drop down menu. Then click convert. Hopefully it makes sense from there. Or just ask your kids
  7. Haha... I'll hook you up with a link to the site I use to "rip" videos from YouTube. Rip means to convert the video to an MP4 file, which you can save to your computer. Don't worry, it's easy
  8. By my calculations you're 7 hours ahead of Johnny time
  9. I've been ripping them and saving them to my hard drive because this can't possibly last
  10. Oldskool keeps pumping out the 70s MSG videos. 12/19/77 (Mascaras vs Graham) and 8/28/78 (Backlund vs Koloff) just uploaded
  11. Check out Islanders vs Harts 11/16/86 from Toronto and Islanders vs Dream Team 12/6/86 from Boston. I remember both being great
  12. Graham vs Putski is actually a perfect example of the epic atmosphere I mentioned and how enjoyable it can make a match
  13. That was the only match I skipped. I'd seen the results and knew it went 30. There was no way in hell I was going to sit through that with Putski in it.
  14. I think the most entertainment will come from watching whole cards, specially mostly garbage like the Cap Centre one. Something that builds and builds in its sheer crapiness . One isolated match won't have the same effect
  15. DeNucci vs Arab was a TV match, from either Hamburg or Allentown. I'd upload it but I don't think I have my 79 discs right now Another hidden gem is a Larry Z vs Ivan Putski Texas Death Match from Philly, I think August 1980
  16. The plan is to make this a semi-regular thing going forward
  17. Oh yeah, that's a great match. If you open the parameters to include the Backlund era (they dropped the extra "W" in March 79) there are tons of great matches from 79-83
  18. Whole card from 8/29/77 MSG featuring Bruno vs Patera Texas Death Match https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xcTTx5c1XVM 9/26/77 MSG featuring Graham vs Dusty https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QAsLHVjo-oQ
  19. Lawler turned heel?
  20. It genuinely warms my heart to see Bruno get some love around here in several threads today. One of my all-time favorites and someone who needs to be appreciated way, way more
  21. I think that is definitely a possibility, with Reigns regaining at Mania
  22. Dont beat around the bush, spoiler tag that motherfucker and share the name
  23. No. Vince Sr believed in a strict face/heel divide. They tried Bruno vs Pedro Morales at Shea Stadium in 1972 and they only drew as many fans as a packed MSG, which was considered dissapointing. One of the lessons learned was the belief fans didn't want to see face vs face. Vince Sr was also extremely careful in his booking of Bob and purposely kept him apart from Bruno in any manner (they never teamed) because he didn't want the fans to think Bob was an inferior replacement to their hero.
  24. Bruno vs Waldo Von Erich
