  1. Meltzer made a good point that the first ever female main event should be something promoted weeks in advance and not a last minute decision like it would be Sunday
  2. Only the Titans have the strength to survive those trials
  3. http://placetobenation.com/tag-teams-back-again-episode-21-summerfest-88/ Kelly and Marty slap on some sun screen and head to the beach to review the tag team matches from two hot cards from the summer of '88: Wrestlefest from County Stadium in Milwaukee and the inaugural Summerslam card from MSG! From Wrestlefest: -The Fabulous Rougeaus vs The Killer Bees -The Bolsheviks vs The Powers of Pain -Demolition vs The British Bulldogs From Summerslam: -The Fabulous Rougeaus vs The British Bulldogs -The Bolsheviks vs The Powers of Pain -Demolition vs The Hart Foundation -The Megapowers vs The Megabucks
  4. So is the Hardy Xmas party going to finally be the end or will they live to see 2017?
  5. Yeah. And have you ever heard Sam Menacker call Stampede? Now that's bad commentery
  6. That is the most untrue statement in the history of the world. I will go back to my own quote from the "How Important is Commentary" thread in this very forum: I would never make the claim that Ed was one of the all time greats, but this is pretty over the top hyperbole. Ed was/is beloved by a lot of people, he wasn't an incarnation of the devil. And all his supposed behind the scenes transgressions are overstated. The big angle you mention, involving Stomper and Bad News, Ed was in on. He "quit" to sell the severity of the situation, and only when the negative publicity in Calgary spiraled out of control did he decide not to come back. He had nothing to do with the show being cancelled, that was the athletic commissions doing. As for Ed's interactions with the heels during interviews, if you can't find entertainment value there I don't know what else to say, it's great pro wrestling IMO
  7. I think all three of those ideas sound interesting. Maybe go with the worst shows idea to start since it would require the least amount of research and you wouldn't have to find obscure footage
  8. I recommend everyone in podcasting or wanting to get into podcasting to teach themselves how to edit. Seriously, it's not hard. The first few attempts will be rough around the edges, but it doesn't take long to learn how to put together something decent. When I first started I thought it would be a lot more difficult. I would at least download Audacity and practice with that. There are several online tutorials out there, and anyone feel free to pm me for help. As for recording, downloading MP3 Skype Recorder is the free and easy way to go, although sometimes unreliable. But you aren't a real podcaster until you've experienced lost audio! Once you have it downloaded you can set it to automatically start recording as soon as the Skype call starts. Anyway, that's my two cents. Buy a guitar, learn three chords and start a band
  9. Apparently some big news is going to break tomorrow according to an ominous Wade Keller tweet...
  10. If they owned it they could get TNA over with their audience if they wanted to. Probably fairly easily
  11. For me, after surviving Ali vs Inoki I fear no match That was my Battle of the Somme
  12. I do like the symmetry of Bob vs Hussein Arab being a match we reviewed on the first Titans with all four of us together (#2) and Bob vs Iron Sheik being on possibly the last...
  13. Royal Rumble is in San Antonio in a building that holds 60,000+....
  14. It odd, it's like we always end up back at Virgil and we don't plan it! He's our unofficial LFK mascot. It's funny, I can tell the Virgil drops aren't intentional yet somehow, everything ties back to Virgil. Six degrees of separation: Virgil. Every topic. Ever. EDIT: WWF Magazine request: I apologize because I sold all of my issues so I can't give you the exact month, but there's an issue in the Fall of 1991 that goes extremely in-depth reviewing a Virgil vs. Kato match. I swear to god this thing was at least 3 or 4 pages. Maybe another listener can help pinpoint it? Just giving the public what it wants, Virgil 24-7-365 baby
  15. Shawn looks like George Hamilton
  16. Joe's been great in NXT. He can still go with the best of them
  17. I think most admit that it was an accident that could've happened to anyone regardless of experience level
  18. I think they are actually going with an old school 5 teams against 5 teams match
  19. Ed Whalen was far, far from the worst commentator ever and was actually really great in his interactions with the heels, and the Stampede TV show was usually entertaining, in spite of the clipped matches. Of course I'm a biased former Calgarian, but give it a chance, you may he surprised
  20. I've found the best way to appreciate Tiger Mask is to watch a bunch of slow-paced 1982 WWF before he arrives on the scene for a few matches. He wakes you up like a punch in the face
  21. He means the guy who made the video not the late great Baron himself As far as Titans Errata goes, for now the WWF MSG and WWF Spectrum playlists on the Titans TV youtube channel provide a ton of extra content, including of course the ladies and little fellas
  22. Yes, they weren't exclusive to WWF until Vince made a deal with Moolah sometime in 84, perhaps even 83
  23. The women have always been part of cards at MSG and Philly but that hateful misogynist Crazy James didn't put a single one of their matches on the set. He was similarly discriminatory with the midgets. I've long meant to rectify the situation, because Titans leaves no stone unturned. Look out for women and midgets to turn up in 1983, that is my pledge!
  24. I know nothing about him, but when I first saw the name a few years ago my first thought was that he was a fan of the Mr Fuji and Don Muraco team of the 80s and it was a tribute to them
