  1. Playlist of Monsoon angle, matches with Wolfe and Jay, and Tonight Show segment (watch this!) https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLV6RCTo_Cd0DFD2RtfoizCwTgRWXDNooM
  2. Mystery Titans Theatre: Andre the Giant vs Chuck Wepner, Shea Stadium, June 25, 1976 http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x4ieyr6 This is seriously a really awesome match I'm working on getting Ali vs Inoki finished. I'll have to put it up in 4 parts because that's how Dailymotion rolls
  3. http://placetobenation.com/titans-of-wrestling-62-muhammad-ali-vs-antonio-inoki/ As part of the first Titans-Two-In-One, Kelly and Johnny discuss the road to the infamous boxer vs wrestler match between Muhammad Ali and Antonio Inoki from June 25 (26 in Japan), 1976! Among the fantastic footage discussed: -Muhammad Ali/Gorilla Monsoon angle, June 1 (aired June 5), 1976 Philadelphia Arena -Muhammad Ali vs Buddy Wolfe, June 12 ABC Wide World of Sports -Muhammad Ali vs "Sodbuster" Kenny Jay, June 12 International Amphitheater, Chicago -Muhammad Ali and Freddie Blassie on the Tonight Show, hosted by McLean Stevenson, June 14 -Pre-fight footage from Japanese TV And then, exclusively on Dailymotion (because this is something YouTube doesn't want you to see!), Mystery Titans Theatre has Kelly and Johnny look at, not only all 15, um, interesting rounds of Ali vs Inoki, but also the forgotten classic (seriously!) between Andre the Giant and heavyweight boxer Chuck Wepner from Shea Stadium. So listen to the road to the fight discussion on Titans #62, then watch the fights on Dailymotion, and finally come back to the pod as Kelly and Johnny wrap things up and make some important announcements regarding future podcasts. Titans-Two-In-One! Because JUST a podcast on one of the worst matches of all time is not enough!
  4. Recorded tonight. Will post soon. Book looks great
  5. I don't think anyone here who was "ruthlessly" attacked by these clowns "took offense" to the criticism because they don't listen to this show to begin with. The chatter subsided because Judy was shown the door for being a dumbass and nobody else cares enough to pimp this crap, BrianB excluded
  6. Yeah, that's crazy. Curse of the Bambino was THE curse. That was a way way bigger deal
  7. Dude, you keep posting the wrong link
  8. Balor is likely putting over Nak and then joining the main roster, perhaps even for the draft show. Just because Bayley hasn't been featured on TV much since Dallas doesn't mean she's going nowhere. She was just in the background so they could do a match between Asuka and Jax. To me it's obvious that she will face Asuka at the Summerslam weekend show and may even regain the strap
  9. Or not
  10. In the latest Observer Meltzer makes it sound like Angle will be back in some form soon enough
  11. Major thread bump to announce I'm finally doing a friggen podcast on this subject. This month is the 40th anniversary of the fight, plus a new book is going to be released about it that looks pretty good https://www.amazon.com/Ali-vs-Inoki-Forgotten-Entertainment/dp/1942952198. Anyway, here's what I posted on Facebook earlier One week from today, Johnny, Pete and Kelly will record the first Titans Two-In-One, celebrating the 40th anniversary of the famed Muhammad Ali vs Antonio Inoki match from June 25, 1976. Titans of Wrestling #62 will be an in-depth look at all the hoopla surrounding the fight (including Ali fighting wrestlers in the AWA!). The boys will look at how it came about, how wide-ranging the tie-ins with the territories around the USA were, and of course provide analysis of the fight itself. Then on Mystery Titans Theatre, join the boys as they watch not only all 15 glorious rounds of Ali vs Inoki but also Andre the Giant vs Chuck Wepner from Shea Stadium. Look out for the Titans Two-In-One in just over a week fans!
  12. I have a friend here in Vancouver who is a big wrestling fan going back 30 years and has been into the PWO podcasts, but it was the hype around the top 100 reveal that finally got him to really explore outside the WWE/modern bubble for the first time. Now he's trying all kinds of 80s stuff and getting into guys like Murdoch and the Destroyer
  13. Can anything be done about the time on the board? It's been running almost an hour behind for about a week or so. It bothers my sense of order
  14. I'm glad you enjoyed the show. We always have a blast doing these and it's rewarding to know our efforts are appreciated
  15. I guess you know you've made it when the smarks critique your work. Drop Some Snowflakes While Your At It!!! Joking aside, with the songs, I checked for something contemporary to the content then basically went with my first impulse. Nothing too well thought out
  16. Harv and Gurv are the Bollywood Boys here in Vancouver, and they are a great act
  17. Ditto
  18. It's true, I believe that's how the uncut version of the Bret Hart-Chris Benoit tribute match for Owen Hart ended up doing the rounds on the trading circuit before they put it out on the Benoit DVD. --- Does anybody know why the Midnight Rockers vs. Buddy Rose & Doug Somers match seems to be missing from WrestleRock '86? Loads of places have it listed but unless I skipped right past it, it's nowhere to be seen? Here's a Talking Heads music video with a couple of still frames of it at 1:47: Pretty sure that match is on Dailymotion
  19. Thanks guys. Yeah, I wish I could pump them out faster but it's been pretty time consuming to do what I've already done. Once a month is the goal for now
  20. http://placetobenation.com/at-the-garden-presents-bruno-sammartino-the-italian-strongman-1960-1965/ The series debut of At the Garden is the first of a four part spotlight on "The Living Legend" Bruno Sammartino. The years 1960-1965 will be covered, looking at... -Bruno's rapid rise as a pro wrestling star -Troubled times during his early years -The story behind the scenes involving Vince McMahon Sr. and other promoters -A show by show breakdown of Bruno's matches at MSG, against such wrestlers as Buddy Rogers, Giant Baba, Gorilla Monsoon, Killer Kowalski, Freddie Blassie, Bill Watts, Gene Kiniski, and many others Sit back and enjoy this trip down memory lane!
  21. Didn't realize the Jumping Bomb Angels were so highly regarded. Glad to see it because I like them a lot
  22. Meltzer's bio on Ali is awesome
  23. Another great Takeover. Really loved the tag match. Nak vs Aries and Asuka vs Jax were both very good. Cage match was good but I felt they didn't take it to that next level, and not just because there was no blood. Also, they need to choose between either having a ref in there or escape the cage rules, don't have both
  24. Takeovers have delivered time after time, and on paper this looks like another hot show. Personally, I want them to say fuck it and let Balor and Joe bleed buckets. Should be a blast Andrade "Cien" Almas vs Tye Dillinger American Alpha vs The Revival Asuka vs Nia Jax Nakamura vs Aries Joe vs Balor Cage Match
  25. http://placetobenation.com/tag-teams-back-again-episode-17-the-fabulous-ones-vs-the-moondogs/ Kelly and Marty are back, this time journeying down South for some hot 80s Mempho tag action!
