Is TNA the worst wrestling promotion in history?
concrete1992 replied to Loss's topic in Megathread archive
Can't wait until Cheick Kongo is in Cedric Alexander's corner and Ken Shamrock is in Kyle O'Reilly's corner for the ROH championship. BIG FIGHT FEEL! -
I think my biggest take away from this whole thread is that if you said Jeff Jarrett after that JJ MMA video then you are possibly human scum and should no longer be allowed on the internet. All time great wrestling moment if there ever was one. Least favorite person? Yeah, I got nothing. I think Brandon Stroud is a whack job that works a shite pseudo-intellectual gimmick and vomit in my mouth a wee bit when someone on twitter decides to retweet something of his. Does that count? EDIT: Just read Parv's other thread. Changing my choice to Parv!

ROH 13th Anniversary Show... Live as it happens
concrete1992 replied to goodhelmet's topic in Pro Wrestling
That doesn't help his #numbers. He plays the game. He plays to win. Also, thought the opening two matches to the show were SOLID HOOTS. The main event treaded into NEGATIVE 5 HOOT territory. A shame. -
Find it absolutely hilarious/fantastic that Binghamton of all places(where I live) is drawing the biggest numbers.

HEAVILY inspired by the Sin Cara vs Cesaro match from this week's main event: What are some notable situations where a worker was on fire one night and abysmal the next or vice versa?

JvK puts the "Self-servicing poll" in PWO...wait a second... I think the poll sorta removes the argument for Waltman who is pretty clearly not seen above Arn by most. It is less about Grimmas thinking Waltman is better but the overall idea that it is closer than it would appear. But the poll actually works against that entire thought sadly so Waltman might as well be miles away from Arn.

I'm on the BOB SAPP TO WWE train if that starts coming up. Cause Bob Sapp is a wrestling AND MMA god. And that is a shoot.

Decided on watching ALL the No Mercy shows and seeing how that goes. So far, not great. Here's my review of the 2nd No Mercy in 1999. https://spandexarestillcool.wordpress.com/2015/02/08/wwf-no-mercy-1999-review/

Advantages of watching 'live' verses Classic footage
concrete1992 replied to BigBadMick's topic in Pro Wrestling
Not sure how wrestling programming on a smaller scale hasn't adapted itself to being more capable of being binge-watched. Maybe a different topic but it almost feels as if older programming is as capable if not more to be watched that way...which is weird. -
[crowd sourcing] Favourite ever promos
concrete1992 replied to JerryvonKramer's topic in Pro Wrestling
Name of worker: Eddie Kingston Promotion (and year): Chikara 2011 Link to promo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c1AGjIQKxNE Why you think it's great: Not an original pick...but no one has mentioned it yet. I'm a younger fan and I was interested in CHIKARA's first iPPV. Was debating if I wanted to see feedback for it before I bought it or watch it live but was sorta leaning to no since I wasn't falling in love with the card. Then I saw this promo. There was no doubt in my mind that I wanted to see this. It was the first time I had personally been TALKED into buying something. Based on such real emotion that he had and then the match itself delivered in every possible way and for me might be that promotion's best match ever. Yeah, this promo still gives me chills. -
Oh, once I saw Generation Next reunion I was hoping Gabe was gonna push it to that next level.

Copied the card so far and such. They've also teased Hero vs Thatcher/Busick. And Galloway vs Strong+Unification with Gargano. Not thrilled with the GeNext opponents. Interested to see how a Galloway vs PJ Black match looks like on the indies. Wonder what they'll do with Tommy End. No loss in my eyes with Nese missing the weekend.

Absolutely wonderful. Can't wait to see how this works going forward.
-
Amazing if Naito and Ibushi formally team for awhile. The tag division is stale but I am willing to accept that being stale instead of the top of the card being stale...which if they are both pre-occupied it probably will be.
-
Still looking like a 7 match card. They just took Fish and Sho off the show it seems.
-
The 1/30 card has changed with Kyle O'Reilly vs Komatsu and Alex Shelley vs Jay White. The final night hasn't been getting a lot of love but I think that will likely be show of the tour and Golden Stardust vs Yano/Sakuraba could be the best match of the whole tour. Can't wait to see how they turn out.

It aired in 2015. My list is based on that. YOUR LIST IS A FARCE!

Royal Rumble 2015 Reaction Show w/PWO crew

Okay, finished the podcast. Once this hits the Rumble talk I'm not sure I've enjoyed a podcast more since WC's 50th show. Amazing stuff. -
Royal Rumble 2015 Reaction Show w/PWO crew

Devon is definitely not retired. Enjoyed the show per-usual. -
Latest post for the AAW show. Starting to figure out who the quality guys are for the promotion with Louis Lyndon confirming my thoughts on him and then Justice Jones coming out of nowhere as a great indie HOSS! One more episode and I'll be all caught up. Might dig through the WHOLE first season if I get the time.

Aerostar versus Superfly was from 2014 if it is the one I'm thinking about. Don't think they have run a show this year yet. Unless you go by a different sort of calendar but I wouldn't haven't on my list for that shear fact. Oh, and as far is it not being a "MOTYC", I tend to a build a list off things I really enjoy. At the end of the year I like to look at a spreadsheet of the things that I can go back to in years going forward. Will it finish in my Top 10? Probably not. Top 50? Probably, unless it is a darn good year. More of a big list guy than a "shortlist" guy.

Okay, so I have gone a terrible route about making a thread for this. So INSTEAD, I'm just going to make one thread and add to it as I go. Don't feel like commenting on the post, feel free to post here opinions on any of my posts. Last post was on an episode of Chicago-area based promotion AAW. https://spandexarestillcool.wordpress.com/2015/01/22/aaw-pro-wrestling-s2-ep-12-stream-of-consciousness/
