  1. That sounds like a WWF match they would have done in 85.
  2. Sid would be a great choice to go in this year. Im still waiting for the Steiner Brothers to go in.

Maybe they might shove Hunter in the title match this year as he didnt get what he wanted last year.
  4. That quite frankly is really quite shocking! Maybe no one talked about the Rumble at his work place because they AREN'T wrestling fans? I couldnt help but laugh when it said he screamed and woke his wife up. Hope he got a right telling off for that. Not everyone likes wrestling. Kids do but alot of people move on and Im not really sure how this made headline news. He really should get a job at a larger accountancy firm where there's more likely to be a wrestling fan. Although in a workforce of 16 people the odds of no-one else at least being a lapsed fan must be pretty low, right? WWE surveys tell me there must be at least 300,000 wrestling fans in Dublin alone? That's not counting the people who commute there for work too. Also, he needs to soundproof his bedroom. He might be waking his missus up a lot this year, otherwise. I don't know, must have been a slow news day? Whatever happened to the big crybaby who got so upset Rock beat Punk at the Rumble he just made a video of him screaming and smashing up all his wrestling stuff?
  5. Has Honky ever told the story on him threatening to jump to WCW with the IC strap?
  6. Are those dates correct for when backstage pass ended?

No, he's wrong. D-Bry v. Kane was a gimmick match blowing off a big time feud. It deserved to go in the main slot Of course I think it should be in the main event slot, but after the way he was treated at the Rumble, it makes no sense. This. IF you watched the Rumble, Bryan was not shown to be a main eventer. He was shown to be the equivalent of Tyson Kidd. I thought that was extremely odd Bryan going out so quick by Bray. The way they were building to the Rumble I figured hey Bryan loses to Bray before the Rumble is so they can build up to this feud after Bryan takes the belt at Mania so you have something planned. Seems like a wasted opportunity.
  10. I do miss those days of a TV belt being defended all the time on TV.
  11. No chance of a Bruno this year to injuct?
  12. Not consistent with his character? He was a heel in WCW that NEVER ran in on his own and attacked a babyface, just stood on the ramp or in the ring with the typical angry heel look of "Oh I am gonna get you for that, but not now!)....what a crock of shit excuse that was.. Didnt he do a run in 98 and Powerbomb Hogan? I dont recall him being with anyone as Bret was on the opposing side. He ran in and powerbombed Sting at Stampede '98 so Savage could win and he then attacked Hogan the next night vs Savage Both were as a face though and both guys were already beat up…as a heel (like 02 WWE Nash was) he never ran in to face someone heads up and waiting for him so that was a bullshit "I got served by Rock so I will try to cover so the guys still think I am big time" excuse Nash was THE big time as Diesel but once he left for WCW it didnt seem to me he was the same deal. I know he had the belt a few times but in 1995 he was above everyone else but the rest of his career he was under others.
  13. Are there even Cool. Im guessing its not free for US subscribers as being out for almost a year in the states everyone would have signed up by now.
  14. What has happened to the backstage pass stuff? On the UK version Raw hasent had one since the Sheamus/Rusev title change and Smackdown is May 2nd. Seems quite odd whiy its nearly a year gap for Smackdown as I presumed they were still doing this unless the UK version is different to the US version. Always loved these as they are in a way like sat feeds. Anyone know whats going on?
  15. The earliest I could find was the UK PPV Capital Carnage in late 98. King of the Ring 99 had no wrestlers on the main card that are not among us anymore, however Paul Bearer was managing the Undertaker and Boss Man was working on heat. Boss Man was at Capital Carnage as he took a Stunner.

Why? It's not like the belt is changing on free TV. Nor should they act like it is going to. Paying to see title fights should be expected, in my opinion. Part of what devalued the titles, at least to me, was WCW & WWF giving away a bunch of stuff for free during the Monday Night Wars because they cared more about winning the ratings in a week instead of keeping their product strong. I agree that Brock was not around enough last year to be WWE Champion. He should have been, at the very least, at every other PPV. But I like him showing up sporadically, as it makes him feel like a bigger deal. If he was there every Monday to wrestle & the belt was with him each week, he would feel like everyone else on the roster: stagnant. When I said on TV I did mean on PPV. That is important to see the title defended at each Months show. This is probably the first time in history the title hasent been defended regulary. But just flat out not mentioning Brock on TV isnt good either. I know people moan about Cena holding the belt but if he had been given the belt at NOC we would have had regular title defenses.
  17. So the free thing isnt just a UK deal then.
  18. WWE Champs that vacated due to injury HBK, 1997: returned 4 months later, won the title in a non-descript PPV match Batista, 2006: returned 6 months later, worked with Booker T for a bit before winning the belt in November. Edge, 2007: returned at Survivor Series and won the belt in December. Cena, 2007: returned and won the 2008 Rumble. Batista, 2009: returned, defeated Orton, left Raw, competed in 2010 Rumble Edge, 2011: retired. HBK is probably the only guy in history who forfeited Championships more often than anyone else.

So he should never lose it because they won't let anyone become the next super duper megastar, or he should lose it at Mania because Reigns has been deemed the next super duper mega star whether he actually is or not? Brock has to lose at Wrestlemania. We need to see the WWE Championship defended alot more on TV.
  20. What is the earliest WWE Wrestling PPV not to feature any deceased talent?
  21. Nothing personal against you, doc, but I honestly despise bullshit sentiments like this whenever I see them on message boards. The whole, "oh, I'm above all of this, and why are you getting worked up when there are more important things to worry about?" attitude just smacks of false piety to me. Of course, world affairs, personal problems, etc. are "more important" - but we're on a wrestling forum, so it's perfectly fine to get angry about wrestling here. Back in the day I used to get so wound up on things like Earthquake taking out the wrestlers I liked or Triple H burying someones career or at least trying to in a match but I guess the novelty just wore off once I left my 20s.
  22. Kind of goes with their motif of being behind the times - "The fans were really mad about this match being soo fast at Mania 29, they will LOVE us for giving it them now..." Yeah that was just stupid doing a 8 second match between these two. Was it a rib on Bryan?
  23. The only fans that are going to cancel is those immature kids on Twitter who sulked over what happened at the Ryumble. Quite frankly I enjoyed the event and to me thats all that matters. Its a huge over reaction because you get thousands of hours of classic footage to watch and thats a great service. Getting the current PPVs is just a bonus and if it bothers them that much buy the PPV from SKY/cable operator. What happens on a PPV shouldnt count for whether you do or dont want the network. Its still a great 24/7 channel. You do realize that the majority of people have the network for the current product and not for old footage otherwise WWE 24/7 would had been a huge success. Yeah Doc, sometimes it seems like you don't accept that you have a minority opinion on things. Actually no. I thought the whole point of the Network was for people to watch classic WWE stuff and current PPVs is just a bonus. 24/7 was just classic stuff but no idea of what numbers it pulled because it wasent available in the UK.
  24. Didnt HHH induct Sammartino the other year? They need some who hasent done the inducting in a while.
  25. I suppose you could always have Goldberg get the belt back at Starrcade 99 or would that be far too long of a wait to happen? Either that or I could see a major PPV during the Summer period being held at the Georgia Dome where Bill gets his rematch. I didnt have a problem with the Starrcade match but the Spring Stampede one bored the shit out of me. No idea why. It should have been something I looked forward to but for some reason the interest just wasent there.
