  1. According to Petey Williams, who was the agent for Aries/Johnny, last night was Aries' last night under contract and he's done with the company.
  2. Post-match aside I thought Aries/Johnny was a great match. Tessa/Taya was a pretty good ten minute match. LAX/OGz was a spectacle in an uncovered ring of nothing but wooden boards but kept under 10 mins, fun brawl though.
  3. It has sounded like this return was going to lead to Shawn doing another match at Survivor Series then maybe something at the Rumble leading to him working WM 35 as well but it might all be up in the air still.
  4. So this is what has ended up as the final lineup for Bound for Glory this Sunday:

    WWE Hidden Gems

Tomorrow's hidden gems Carlos Colon vs. Johnny Rodz (WWWF @ MSG, 8/1/77) Latin Fury (Konnan) vs. Art Barr (WWE, 1/8/92) Super Loco vs. El Hijo del Santo (Super Astros, 11/22/98) Eddie Guerrero vs. Nova (OVW, 11/20/2002)
  6. The surprise reveal of Kurt was the best, something actually unexpected for once. Great episode overall with lots happening.
  7. I think the 2 min match was done as mentioned to be a flash pin to somewhat protect Miz. Miz was up 2-0 in this feud, Bryan had to win one, and SaudiMania II is the perfect card where they wanna throw out a 'dream match' like Bryan/Styles. Miz will definitely be the one to dethrone AJ still, likely in a triple threat after as people have suggested.
  8. Cena actually winning with the Cena Sequence, with no reversals, is always a treat. Always glad to see the IIconics get a win because it's so rare, especially cool to see it happen here even if the pop didn't come thru too huge. First half of the show definitely house show vibe. AJ seemingly always exactly in the middle of these cards.
  9. I was thinking the Monsters Ball tag from Slammiversary but no I believe it was that Abyss/Foley match where Daffney got hurt Were you still watching all the Impacts or just the PPVs? After reading your thoughts on Foley/Abyss, I was just about to tell you to make sure you catch the Foley/Flair Last Man Standing on Impact one year later! I thought 2010 was a blast and reminiscent of 2002 as far as never knowing who the hell was gonna show up next. 2011 started rough but ended kicking off one of their best runs in 2012.
  10. I dug the concept of the first 15 or so episodes, where they'd have a big names match with a lot of time and then a lower card match follow. After that it slowly got more and more mid card ish and eventually became the nothing show it is today, but the first ones were definitely cool. The debut episode with a hyped Punk v Sheamus champion v champion match was good and my personal favorite was a Ziggler/Miz match that went 22 minutes. There's also the really great Kofi/Miz and Kofi/Cesaro matches.... Cesaro was a highlight of the early 2013 episodes.

    WWE Hidden Gems

They put up a new Collection on HHH/Taker featuring every singles match between them ever - pretty cool considering their rivalry is usually limited to Mania. Including in the collection are new hidden gems of HHH/Taker from Kuwait Cup 96, HHH/Taker from Feb 97 Shotgun Saturday Night, and HHH/Taker from Friday Night Main Event Sept 97
  12. I read this yesterday as 'outcome' so
  13. I remember Sheamus & Drew being labeled Triple H guys back in 2009. Sheamus went to the top quick but didn't work out as well for Drew at the time.
  14. Also agreed all the way here. Alexa is the best and Ronda was great in that match, loved it
  15. I thought for sure when Lesnar's music hit, they were gonna say Corbin gave him the MITB and he was cashing in. Since that segment where Braun gave Corbin the briefcase and told him to make sure he doesn't forget it or something along those lines. They've got the Shield vs Braun/Drew/Dolph at Super Showdown. I'd forgot about SaudiMania II so if Brock's working that, I guess that'll be headlined by Brock/Roman/Braun. So another month+ of this stuff. I loved Brock showing up last night but am beyond sick of Brock multi-man matches with the same guys over and over. We just had Brock/Braun/Kane earlier this year, Brock/Roman/Braun/Joe last year, Brock/Roman/Ambrose before that... very repetitive. Great catch!
  16. Loved this show, thought everything overdelivered. Brock made for a nice surprise. Alexa/Ronda was awesome. Orton/Hardy brought the violence. A bit surprised to see at least several people here seemingly turning on Joe these days since I thought most everyone loved him in the Brock feud just last year. I think he still delivers most every time out and have been really digging his series with AJ
  17. Seems they do actually have the show listed as 7-1030 est rather than 7-11 as they've been. Agreed 100%. That SummerSlam squash was so so dumb.
  18. I didn't realize there's only 7 main card matches. Feels like a step back from the last three all having 10 + multiple preshow matches plus Super Showdown having 10 as well.
  19. I may be misremembering, but I actually don't remember fans ever really turning on Batista during his initial 05-09 babyface run which I thought was a credit to him and the booking of the time almost always keeping his badass babyface aura in tact. He always seemed to get cheered during that run and massive pops when he'd make returns from injury. The heel turn got a lot of love and of course the years later return was all ill advised and filled with bad timing.
  20. Hardy being a spotfest guy in his early days sure, but I thought in his second WWE run (06-09), he had become a legitimately GREAT worker who had several fantastic matches up and down the card against a huge variety of opponents - mostly straight singles matches at that. On par with Matt delivering the goods on a weekly basis. Matches with Morrison in 06, Umaga in 07.. really strong matches in early 2008 when he was first main eventing against Michaels, Cena, Orton, Jericho and the later series with Triple H were great stuff.
  21. There was another thread a few months back on this same Hardy/Bryan bigger star topic, I posted this video there too (as well as their respective music hype videos that both got which are a tremendous aid in getting guys over as stars), but this is always one of my favorite intros, where Jeff felt like THE biggest star going. I wish they would've gone back to this theme now too.
  22. After Armageddon, Hardy main evented Judgment Day, Extreme Rules, Night of Champions, and SummerSlam.
  23. It's most likely going to be a DX tag rather than a 1 on 1 match I imagine.
  24. I really liked both of those matches as well. Though I do think Alisha is super underrated, she did real fun heel work back 6 or 7 years ago on the indys and had some breakout feeling matches back then. I think the knockouts division could probably use some more depth but the tag division is looking pretty solid.. just need to get Z & E back in the mix.
  25. Agreed, couldn't stand him then or now.. ruined so much like the tag division and KO's career. Riley's face turn was so awesome... will forever wish he rose to the top after that.
