High: Austin Aries winning the title. Legit felt like a real true star-making moment for TNA. Great crowd reaction, great big moment feel, everything about it went perfectly. Roode's title run goes alongside as a high point also. Low: Chris Sabin winning the title. This on the other hand came off awful in every way. Sabin came off like a joke and was so far away from where Aries was the year before. I do credit Hogan for trying to put over both in similar ways on screen but it obviously worked much better with Aries. Other highs already mentioned that I wanted to include would be the Storm/Harris Texas Death and the Storm/Roode feud. As well as Hogan vs. Sting which was another perfect 'moment' that may have created the biggest pop in TNA history for the post-match Hulkamania. For me October 2011 through 2012 is my favorite TNA era.

Rusev/Swagger continued on Main Event so I guess there was nothing to that bit about ending it early. Glad to see and hope they're building to a SummerSlam flag match.

I don't think they moved Naomi/Cameron up, they are just doing two preshow matches.
-
I know last year they showed the entire Rock-Cena match but don't they usually just mix up the highlights of some of the key matches into music videos like they used to do on Sunday Night Heat? IIRC, they did that with one of Undertaker's matches, and set it to some Katy Perry song. They did the music videos for 24 and 25 on the key matches which were awesome. 26 they just showed the full Taker/HBK with a musical finish to include HBK's farewell. 27 showed the full HHH/Taker with the as mentioned (and awesome) "ET" music entrance for Taker. 28 and 29 was just all of Cena/Rock. That and especially the excellent HBK/Flair one were my personal favorites:

Your personal most Overrated and Underrated
Alucard replied to JaymeFuture's topic in Megathread archive
Absolutely, always thought Holly was awesome. Especially his last 7 years with the company. Great bully heel on SD against the 2002 up and comers like Orton and Maven. Really solid lower midcard teams in 2004-2005 with Billy Gunn and Charlie Haas. Would have excellent random series on B/C shows like against Orlando Jordan on Velocity or Holly/Haas vs MNM then a badass series of matches with JBL on SD during his title run where he was again looking like a semi-top guy for SD and some real fun brawls with Sylvan in their mini feud later on. Loved the Holly/Brock buildup and feud, great stuff and even if it was obvious he wasn't going to win, it felt like he could've stayed hovering around more the upper mid card around that time. His later 06-07 ECW series with RVD was awesome with the classic table back slicer extreme rules one sticking out. Loved that they were getting 15 minutes regularly against each other, one of my favorite things about ECW on Syfy. I remember Holly was the first guy to beat Punk on TV there and I thought they were going to continue building him up there only for him to get squashed by Lashley not long after. He always stayed pretty over too. Enjoyed his final run with Cody Rhodes as a cool veteran/rookie team and was gutted that he never got to come back with a new partner to challenge Cody & Ted. After he worked a TNA show last year, I hoped they'd bring him in but it never happened. Regardless, Hardcore Holly rules. I've thought Nash can be pretty underrated at times. Even in his last few years, his bloody brawl with Foley in TNA was more than expected and that final Ladder match with HHH I thought was really good with the tremendous table bump from Nash. -
Was Triple H part of the angle or was he jumping in there because Bray was bleeding? Part of the angle. It was Cena vs Wyatt in a lumberjack match where Flair led 10 lumberjacks and HHH led 10.

They go by the Oi4K (Ohio is 4 Killers) now. Dave's mask is only for entrance attire, I think it goes with the skull logo they use for the oi4k. Other than that, they still wrestle the same.

Don't think it's been mentioned yet, but Cena/JBL I Quit at Judgment Day 05 with a 1 year later callback to JBL/Eddie.
-
Such an effective way to build someone up or make a feud that much more important. REALLY wish they did these more like they used to.
-
HBK was still his first singles defeat. the HHH PPV match was the one that got turned into a triple threat with Edge pinning HHH.
-
I always wished Jeff Hardy had a longer run on top in 08-09. In 2011 I briefly thought Alex Riley could've been a Cena/Orton level guy after his face turn.

Does anybody give a shit about Randy Orton?
Alucard replied to Cross Face Chicken Wing's topic in The Microscope
I loved Orton's 2010-2012. He was super over after he first turned face in 2010 and was getting some monster pops. Crowd was hot for him in the 2010 MITB. Thought 2011 was his best in ring year with great matches almost weekly against a wide variety of guys. -
Agreeing with the mentions of the 2008 Hardy matches which were fantastic, the Dec 03 RAW match vs Shawn, and the DX/Legacy SummerSlam tag. All were awesome. I remember being really surprised how great the DX/Legacy tag was, got a ton of time and thought it put over Legacy really strong in defeat.

Is TNA the worst wrestling promotion in history?
Alucard replied to Loss's topic in Megathread archive
Bad Influence vs Angle/Styles from Slammiversary 2012 was my favorite match of theirs. Awesome tag during a great run. That show was pretty good stuff. Also the mentioned Styles/Daniels Destination X 2012 last man standing match is one of my favorites of that year, loved it. Agreed with all of this. My favorite period of TNA history, they were on fire. -
Not singles but I was at a house show in 98 that had DX vs Vader/LOD/Droz. Always remember the big vs little spot where Waltman goes to pin Vader and Vader launches him off across the ring.
-
The 97 Rumble had a really good mini's match, and Mascarita Sagrada was around for a lot in 1997 I think. There was the attempted "Smackdown Juniors Division" in 05-06 that had Sagrada, Super Porky, Octagoncito and a few others.

Is TNA the worst wrestling promotion in history?
Alucard replied to Loss's topic in Megathread archive
Agreed, that was great and lead to a better than would be expected match between the two that was a total blast to watch along with Flair's involvment. Then the post-match angle led to one of the biggest pops in TNA history, loved it. -
Triple H just announced that the Ultimate Warrior passed away
Alucard replied to flyonthewall2983's topic in Pro Wrestling
So sad.. amazing to see him back after all this time and was exciting that he would be a part of WWE going forward with the legends deal. Glad he made it to the Hall. RIP Warrior. -
I really liked Lita's speech. Razor's was really short but quite good as well. Warrior is the man

Wrestlemania Predictions (It's never too early)
Alucard replied to goodhelmet's topic in Pro Wrestling
Darren Young is in. I think Rusev will be in and might win. Hope Woods is not in. Kinda surprised by the amount of guys that are never used in there like Justin Gabriel and Brodus Clay. Would much rather see some fun legend spots especially for an Andre tribute. -
I agree with this, would definitely say the tag was the main event.
-
Along the same lines, Scott Hall showing up in ECW is an all time favorite of mine. Agreed on the mentions of Cena at Rumble '08 for sure.
-
Hawx also used to be Altar Boy Luke back in XPW. He's recently worked for Shane Douglas' Extreme Rising promotion where he worked Matt Hardy and started a feud that they carried over into Luke's own promotion Wildkat Pro Wrestling based in New Orleans.

The Zig Zag, the Sleeper and at the time was using a superkick as a finish that he even beat Orton with a couple of times. Also finished with the fameasser on lesser guys.
-
Ziggler was beating John Cena clean a year ago. TLC due to AJ's interference was the only time Ziggler went over. Then Cena kicked out of all of Ziggler's finishers and Big E's too and beat him clean on RAW, then did it again in a cage on Raw. And yeah Ziggler was/is done IMO.
