  1. Ages ago had a dream that PG-13 wrestled on Raw as the Cyberpunks. Cyberpunks meant cyborgs. They wrestled two lumberjack jobbers. One of the cyborgs just immediately shot a laser out of his cyborg eye and blew the lumberjacks head off. Vince was announcing and did the serious voice. Then Marty Janetty or someone came out for a match like nothing happened.
  2. Yeah, Hussein Arab is pretty well-known. If you wanna talk about forgotten WWE periods of Shieky-baby's career, how about coming back for about six minutes in the summer of 1988, after the Duggan incident?
  3. This one has been driving me insane lately: Armchair Doctors. Every fan these days seems to know what's best for the wrestlers. These fans know what bumps they should or shouldn't take, what injuries they should or shouldn't come back from, when they need to retire, what style of wrestling they should use, etc. Despite knowing nothing about bumping besides what they've seen on Tough Enough or heard in shoot interviews. Despite (probably) not having a sports medicine background. Despite (probably) not having an athletic background. Drives me nuts.
  4. Yeah the sponsored stuff makes sense, old Raws they would have Vince doing these during ring entrances. No way around that. These were just regular commercials and not part of the show at all. Felt like I was watching one of my old tapes.
  5. Just be glad it wasn't a Foley Chef Boyardee ad. That would be grounds for "hey...wait a minute!" Foley was in those. These were just generic Chef Boyardee commercials. Was wondering, is there any kind of legal weirdness that could arise from airing old advertising like that?

    WWE TV 8/3-8/10

Cesaro needs to wear suits from here on out. Someone's gonna argue that making him too stylish is a heel thing but it worked for The Rock and Flair when they were faces.
  7. There was a period in the mid 2000's where Marty would show up every year and stick around for a week or so. Anybody remember when he denied getting fired on his MySpace? On the WWE website, they "ended all professional relationships with Marty Jannetty" which really stood out from the standard future endeavored.
  8. Was watching a Clash from 1997 and noticed they left in a Mighty Ducks commercial and a Chef Boyardee commercial. I know they leave their own product advertisement in, but these had nothing to do with wrestling. I found that pretty weird?
  9. They could have grabbed Jamie and Wolfie before the Nation Of Domination got them!
  10. RE: Smothers, did they have any good ole boys in the NWO? I just can't see him fitting. He was kind of what the NWO were against, wrasslin, tradition, southern.
  11. Sin Cara, the current one. Wrestled as Mistico (not that one) when he started out The more famous Mistico debuts after, so legally he can't be Mistico anymore, bounces around with some other names Adopts the Hunico name when he signs with WWE/FCW Mistico then signs with WWE and they brand him as Sin Cara Sin Cara gets hurt so a fake Sin Cara (Hunico) starts appearing Fake Sin Cara (Hunico) and real Sin Cara feud over the name, fake Sin Cara gets unmasked and becomes Hunico again After Sin Cara gets hurt the 493rd time, he leaves WWE. WWE still sees value in the Sin Cara name, so Hunico becomes Sin Cara again with no mention of the switch Confusing?
  12. Knobbs was on the Steve Austin show a while back and he was hilarious there too. Seems like the kind of guy that would be kept around to entertain the boys. Kind of like a Captain Lou.
  13. What if Eric Bischoff gets the WWF announcer gig in 1990?
  14. Listen to the New Day on Jericho's podcast, they're today's guests. You'll get a real good idea of how dated Vince's views on race are. They actually bring up a lot of talking points I've seen discussed on this board and on PWO/P2B podcasts. That's another thing they really need to fix. Stop color-coding people and stop forcing every minority into 1970's stereotypes. I can't recall the last time a legit main event guy wasn't white. Maybe Bobby Lashley?
  15. Snuka is also one of the first guys they gave "legend" status to post-Hogan. You never heard them reference the past in the late eighties and early nineties. If you were not in the company, you were not talked about. Snuka along with guys like Andre and Blassie were some of the first guys to get that status while most of the other eighties stars were in WCW.
  16. That's odd because I've noticed the same thing. It couldn't be from his 1989-1992 run since he did absolutely nothing during that run, could it? The people I hear this from would also be too young to remember his pre-expansion stuff.
  17. Wow. This is gonna take a couple days to hit.
  18. Mark Henry interview is aces. Everybody check this out. Wow, Mark praises the Goldberg match as one of his favorites. I thought I was on an island thinking that match was great
  19. It's 1996 and you're in talent relations for the WWF. You need to fill the role of TL Hopper, Sal Sincere, The Goon, Freddie Joe Floyd & Leif Cassidy however Dirty White Boy, Tom Brandi, Bill Irwin, Tracey Smothers and Al Snow are unavailable. Out of the available talent in the world at the time, who do you use to fill these spots?
  20. The weird thing with Reigns is that they're not pushing him aside in favor of some shiny new toy. They just decided that they're not going to push anybody at that level right now, at least nobody who hasn't already been at that level for years.
  21. Even worse, they called it the "Taker" Care of Business on commentary. Was gonna list that but thought that was a known one
  22. Brian Pillman using a Hangman's Neckbreaker in the WWF because, you know... Scott Steiner using all sorts of weird shit instead of the Steiner Recliner in WWE. I remember the Flatliner, think he used something else too but I can't remember. Hacksaw Jim Duggan's "Old Glory" kneedrop in WCW
  23. Crush also used the Heart Punch when he came back in 1996. Nice topic. I watched a ton of B-shows so I've got a few of these. Big Show also used the Alley-Oop right before he joined the WWE NWO. He set the guy up for a powerbomb, but heaved him over his shoulders so the guy took a flat stomach bump. Looked like crap. Chris Jericho using the Breakdown in 2002. Same as the Miz's Skull Crushing Finale. Mark Jindrak using a knockout left hand after he left Angle's stable. Brutus Beefcake as The Disciple using "The Apocalypse" which was just a Stunner. Eddie Guerrero using "El Paso Del Muerte" in 2001 right before he got canned. It was some kind of leglock, for whatever reason he stopped using the Frog Splash. Dolph Ziggler using a sleeper when he jumped to Smackdown in 2009.
