  1. Holy crap, this is so random. This would like if they announced, I don't know, Ryback vs Bill Dundee..... I'm sold.
  2. From a storyline persepctive, how do they even present Undertaker vs Sting? With part timer matches, you need to have at least one guy on TV to build it. I almost feel the best way to do this is have the announcers flat out admit "you wanted to see this, so we're gonna give it to you!" No storyline, just a shock announcement. No real need to be subtle about things, just get it out of the way.
  3. PN Newz as a Baldie in 1999 ECW Brad Armstrong, WWECW House Show worker and occasional announcer Wahoo appearing on WWF TV in 1994 with Strongbow and Tatanka
  4. Was Brian Knobbs under WCW contract from 1996 when the Nasty Boys ended until 1999 with the Hardcore stuff? If not, where was he?
  5. Steph wasn't acting like a face though she was just acting like Steph. Everybody on the entire roster is below her, face or heel. She's been pulling this crap for years now. And the Bellas have switched face and heel numerous times with no explanation. Good Raw this week. Rusev has been sorely missed.
  6. Titus having to convince Mark Henry to do the PTP dance might be my favorite thing I've seen on WWE TV all year.
  7. What are they getting sued for?
  8. There are different types of bad though. Some stuff might look good on paper but just didn't work for whatever reason. There have been plenty of shows in wrestling history that looked good on paper but had no good matches. Other stuff you just wonder how the hell it even made it past the concept stage. I think of the latter when I think of useless.
  9. The Renegade working WCW as late as 1998, using Marvelous Marc Mero's theme music Ernest Miller = Velocity commentator Semi-retired Michael Hayes working Power Pro in 1999
  10. I don't know if we're talking about bad or useless, but as far as useless goes I would have to rank Bragging Rights 2009 way up there. This was right when WWE started the gimmick PPVS and were running something like 15 a year. I think they ran three PPVs in a six week span and Bragging Rights was right in the middle. Guys from Raw team up against guys from Smackdown to compete for brand supremecy. The concept of brand loyalty between Raw and Smackdown was so done by that point and they always give these matches to Smackdown anyway as a consolation prize for being the B show. And Survivor Series, another PPV based on multi person tags, was a few weeks after this. Redundant. The show was fine enough but the concept was the very definition of useless and pointless. They killed the gimmick after two of these duds.

    WWECW

For whatever reason, I hate ECW-era Shannon Moore more than any gimmick in wrestling history.

    WWE TV 7/6 - 7/12

Remember when they were very subtly suggesting that New Day were aligned with The Authority, talk about being "Authority approved" in their promos? Thankfully, they cut that from the act. I hate when every top heel needs to be aligned with The Authority. It's rare to get a top heel that just exists on their own. They were even teasing Owens being on their radar with HHH giving him subtle praise in backstage skits.
  13. I also imagine him looking like he does now, when he came out of the womb. Bearded, chesthair, with the glasses on and holding up the four horsemen sign. Arn was a jobber as Marty Lunde in Mid South and he still did the Arn-isms. What's the earliest Arn we have?
  14. Only familiar with Buddy from the Crockett stuff, he was an absolute amazing revelation when I finally got into Mid South a couple years ago. Now I know I need to seek out some more. Awesome show!
  15. So.... anybody else planning on watching the Japan show live? Actually managed to get a few friends to come over get drunk and watch some mid south angles until 5:30 am. We'll see if we make it
  16. Today's episode with Lex Luger is an absolute must-listen. They cover a lot of stuff in addition to Flair's party stories. This is easily my favorite wrestler podcast right now. Lex on War Games: "Why is Hawk always last?" lol
  17. Is there a reason why Luke Harper and Erick Rowan were put back together only to almost immediately disappear from TV?
  18. I can't wait for Brock vs. Kofi. Brock vs. Rollins will be fun too. Makes it all the more disappointing that they wasted three Brock dates on HHH matches. I like to see how he works when he moves around the card, not just in "Legends" matches which are foolproof to a certain extent. If you also value lower-key stuff as part of a resume, go back to his first run. Brock was consistently having fun SmackDown matches, not just main events. He had what might be my favorite big man vs. little man match that never gets talked about with Rey. He did a lot of fun stuff with Matt Hardy, World's Greatest Tag Team, Paul London and even A-Train.
  19. Great Khali is today's guest. Thought it was a Jericho joke when that came up, but no, he's really the guest. No translator. And it's a really fun show! Of course he's a little tough to understand but it's not impossible, after five minutes or so you just get used to it. Khali comes across as a really good dude. Check this out!
  20. Probably just an age thing. A lot of fans got the Hogan nostalgia out of their system in 2002. It's diminishing returns. Plus, Hogan's heyday was so long ago that a lot of the current fan base wasnt even alive then and thus have no emotional investment in him.
  21. Six sided ring, yuck....
  22. Completely agree, a lot of their stuff looked off. I'm not the kind of guy who's going to shit on a finish like that because it was the right thing to do. But these two just didn't click tonight.
  23. Yikes, Samoa Joe really needs new music. It's so generic and quiet I thought it was a copyright dubbed over theme until I remembered I'm watching current NXT
  24. I also thought there was a huge difference between Lawler calling this match and like 99% of his other announcing stuff these days. He must be an Owens fan. King worked Owens on Kevin's indy farewell tour, didn't he?
