WWF has done tons of "Coming Soon" vignettes for wrestlers over the years. How many have built a guy up better than Razor Ramon? You know exactly who he is, where he comes from, and what he is coming for. He scars the hearts of the women who love him, and the souls of men in the ring.

Tatanka visits a reservation and gives a terrible speech. There are reservations in Connecticut much closer to Stamford who probably wanted nothing to do with this.

I thought the dropkick spot was awesome. It's been mentioned by others, but the production really hampered this for me. Between the poor lighting and recorded commentary, I thought I was watching a house show. You could tell the crowd was going crazy, but could barely hear them. Despite this, the match had me hooked by the second fall. These girls came to fight from the start. I thought the start of the third fall was especially brutal, Hokuto doesn't even have time to get to her feet before the bell rings and she is kicked in the head. Tons of cool stuff with no time to catch your breath. It's too bad the commentators didn't seem to care.

The referees here to NOT like their pin counts being broken up. Texano breaks up a pin in the first fall and the ref grabs him, giving Can Am Express I the opportunity to kick Texano in the chest, leading to the finish of the fall. In the second fall, Silver King breaks up a pin and the ref shoves him out of the ring! The Can Ams dominated the first fall and the second fall looks to be going the same way but Furnas misses a clothesline, hitting Kroffat instead. This leads to the finish with Los Cowboys getting a double pin. The third fall was pretty exciting, with both teams fairly even. In the end, the Can Ams were able to outlast Low Cowboys. Silver King tries a dive, but gets caught an rammed into the ringpost. Soon after, both try to roll up their foes, but get reversed and pinned. This was just the start of their tour in UWA. While the Cam Ams had been in UWA before, but they hadn't interacted much with Los Cowboys. I would like to see another match from this tour where there is more hatred between the two teams.

[1988-03-27-WWF-Wrestlemania IV] Randy Savage vs Ted Dibiase
xlynwoodx replied to cactus's topic in March 1988
I was surprised at how short this match was, its understandable since it's Savage's fourth match of the night. They tried to squeeze a lot of story into ten minutes. I probably haven't watched this match in thirty years, it's interesting to see how Hogan always has to be the center of attention. There was a stark difference between Andre's subtle interference and Hogan hamming it up as soon as he walks into the arena. Savage and Dibiase both looked great and the ending with Savage and Elizabeth was a special moment. I just found myself wanting more wrestling. -
Ricochet shows off a little early, faking out Mad Blankey with a dive, instead bouncing off the ropes and doing multiple backflips in the ring. YAMATO, sneaks under the ring and comes out the other side with a wrench. He smartly uses it on Ricochet's knee, compromising him early. Ricochet's knee became the story of the match, hampering him throughout. Ricochet sold extremely well, annoyed at his body for not being able to cooperate. He struggled with his offense, grabbing his knee and unable to follow up whenever he was able to hit a big move. YAMATO was able to control most of the match this way, regaining the advantage easily. The highlight was Ricochet kicking out of a Gallaria, then desperately wriggling his way out of a second attempt to hit YAMATO with his own Gallaria, then a Shooting Star Press for a near fall. Sensing the tide turning, Mad Blankey started interfering which ultimately resulted in YAMATO getting the win with another Gallaria. Great match that told a decent story. It was slower and limb focused more than I expected. Ricochet had the crowd strongly behind him and showed a lot of heart battling from behind for twenty minutes. It took all of Mad Blankey for him to get pinned, leaving you wanting to see Ricochet get his revenge.

Found a clipped version on Youtube. Sekimoto has recently returned from injury and is looking to get back his title against his former trainee, Shinya Ishikawa. Sekimoto kept trying these deadlift German suplexes that may have taken too much out of him. Ishikawa was able to break Sekimoto's grip and get some space. A strike exchange followed, which Ishikawa got the better of. He followed up with the most wicked abdominal stretch I think I've ever seen, causing Sekimoto to verbally submit. Crowd seemed a bit subdued for what I would assume to be one of the hotter storylines going in BJW. There was nothing too memorable, just a solid war of attrition. I would hope for a hot rematch down the line that has these guys up their game a little. On a side note, Ishikawa's theme is pretty sick.

This is AJ's first match in New Japan after making his debut the previous month, attacking Okada and challenging him to a title match. AJ throws Okada out of the ring early and distracts the ref, giving the Bullet Club the chance to put the boots to Okada. This happens a second time, and Bullet Club get kicked out. They pitch a fit about having to go, Okada takes advantage of the distraction and hits a huge flip dive onto everyone. Once the Bullet Club leave, things settle down into a fine, but not very memorable New Japan Main Event. Okada sells the knee a little. Styles gets ooohs from the crowd with all of his popular spots. He actually attempts a Spiral Tap, which I haven't seen him do in forever. Okada rolls out of the way and is building momentum when the Bullet Club return. Ref is distracted again, and Yujiro of all people takes Okada out with his Tokyo Pimps powerslam. AJ is able to hit Okada with a Styles Clash and get the win, and the IWGP title. Big moment for AJ Styles, who is finally free from TNA. He struggled some to adapt, but I'm sure he'll settle in. He's good enough to where he doesn't need the Bullet Club to help him win all his matches, I hope he gets the opportunity.

Is Shinsuke Nakamura the coolest dude on the planet? Possibly, but it's still not enough to make this match interesting. The Gracies have no charisma. They do MMA grappling in gis for a while. Nakamura hits a Gracie with some knees, Sakuraba taps out to a choke. Kinda bummed to see the Gracie killer tap out. Blue Gracie challenges Nakamura to a title shot after. Great.

This had to be the "People's Main Event" on this show. Ishii is the biggest badass in Japan and has been just killing dudes for the past year. Honma has this amazing underdog persona that is so appealing. He has bounced around promotions in Japan for years and is finally getting an opportunity. They start out trading strikes, Honma trying to go toe-to-toe against the tough Ishii. Ishii tried some mind games, repeatedly telling Honma to hit him harder until he got hurt by an elbow. As Ishii did a few times when he was in trouble, he used his strength and felled Honma with a shoulderblock. At this point, both men realized they were in for a fight. Ishii worked over Honma for a bit before eating a DDT, causing him some trouble with his neck. Honma pounced and finally hit one of his headbutts, which popped the crowd. Ishii fights back with a backdrop driver and a huge superplex, then gets into a lariat battle with Honma. Honma ducks one and hits a German Suplex, which Ishii has Ishii selling his neck/shoulder again. Ishii roles outside and Honma hits the spot of the month, dropping off the top rope to ringside with his trademark headbutt. Honma roles back into the ring and is FIRED UP! He hits another inside the ring and gets a 2-count. Honma bounces off the ropes, giving Ishii just enough recovery time to hit a lariat and take control. They have this wild suplex battle where both guys attempt to suplex the other, Honma deadlifts Ishii up and hits a brainbuster. Honma is starting to believe that he can pull off the upset! Michinoku Driver gets a 2.9, Ishii's shoulder is destroyed. Honma tries another headbutt but Ishii rolls away and both men are down. The crowd is trying to will Honma on, chanting his name. They trade strikes again, both men are exhausted. This won't last much longer. Another elbow from Honma seems to hurt Ishii's neck for a moment, but he fights through it and battles back with multiple elbows! They trade headbutts, then Ishii drops Honma with an enziguri. He follows with his sliding lariat and a brainbuster for the pin. Fantastic match, both guys were warriors and showed and incredible fighting spirit. Honma was heartbroken post match. New Japan is doing this thing now where instead of muting the audio during entrance music, they dub in generic music. It gives you the opportunity to still hear the commentators, but still kills the atmosphere. It kicks in immediately after the 3-count, ruining the crowd response to the match. I hope they manage to fix this at some point.

All six men are ringside for this one. Reigns and Batista trade power moves as Evolution inch their way closer to the ring. Hunter and Orton try to block Reigns from hitting his outside the ring dropkick on Batista but Ambrose and Rollins take them out with dives. Reigns hits the dropkick and the brawl is on. The Shield overwhelm Evolution and are poised to give Hunter a triple powerbomb when Stephanie unleashes the midcard heel locker room. The numbers gain control until Rollins and Ambrose hit the ring with chairs and chase everyone off. Curtis Axel eats a curb stomp onto a chair, Ryback gets another triple powerbomb. Poor Ryback, he always gets the brunt of the Shield. The Shield looked amazing throughout the show, taking the fight to Evolution three separate times and standing tall at the end. Wild finish.

Bray seems to be lamenting the fans that are refusing to follow him, calling them parasites and ignorant. He plays on Cena's promo from Main Event where he proclaims his motto as 'Never Give Up.' He wants to know how far Cena will go, challenging him to a Last Man Standing match at Payback. This promo made more sense than most.
-
Evolution comes out, they aren't very happy. Hunter says there will be a rematch at Payback with the Shield. He says he knew The Shield were great, that is why he enlisted them. He continues to run each guy down until the Shield hit the ring. It's was actually a great moment, Hunter was mid-speech and they snuck in off camera. Somehow they snuck by the crowd because there was no noise prior to Hunter getting hit. The beat down Evolution again, chasing them off. Batista, outside the ring, is furious. He demands a match with the Shield tonight.
-
This was a slightly better version of their match than on Smackdown. Bray sells too much and he often looks very beatable if it weren't for his Family. Luke Harper continues to stand out as the one who you should be afraid of. He's big, unhinged, and never gets beat. They did one of those spots where each guy takes a turn hitting his big move on someone else until Wyatt catches Cena in Sister Abigail. He eats double Superkicks from the Usos before he can hit it, than Cena gets the pin with a booming Attitude Adjustment on Rowen. Crowd was into this.

Stephanie says that Bryan's injury proves that he is a B+ player. She asks Bryan to come out because she needs to ask him a question. Kane's pyro goes off and he drags a lifeless Bryan out from backstage. He shirt is torn and his face is all bruised up. Steph is concerned, Brie is trying to look concerned, and Bryan is stretchered out. I'm assuming they are expecting Bryan's surgery to be not too serious. This feels more like the continuation of a storyline than Bryan being written off so far. No mention of yet what happens with the WWE title.
-
Daniel Bryan recaps his struggles to win the WWE title over the past year. He talks about his body paying the price for his wrestling style. He announces he has to get surgery on his neck and appears to be struggling to hold in his emotions as he talks. He says The Authority is happy about this and they don't want him to come back. Bryan gets the crowd to chant YES! he will come back. I feel like this didn't come across as the "real" moment it could have. Bryan suffered three Tombstones a few weeks ago and wore a neck brace for weeks prior to the match at Extreme Rules, but during the match there was no focus on the neck at all. That should have been a target for Kane. Now, with Bryan going out for surgery on his neck, people weren't sure if this was a storyline or not.

Alicia Fox tells Paige that she has alienated all of the other divas since arriving in WWE. This is now the storyline I guess since the commentators kept talking about it during the match. Fox attacks her before the bell. Paige is hurt, but still agrees to start the match. Fox is not on television enough. She's fun to watch and really lays everything in. Fox takes 99% of this match, dominating Paige until Paige fights out of a headlock and hits the Paige Turner out of nowhere. This is the same way she won the Diva's title, I wish that had been put over some. Fox post match is PISSED. She storms around ringside, screaming at fans and the commentary team, then sprays a Monster all over them. She steals JBL's hat and struts around before leaving. Cracked up at how sad JBL looked that his hat was stolen.

Zeb adds Adam Rose to his list of people he wants to see deported. The bell rings and Adam Rose comes out with his party group. Rose climbs onto the ropes and does a trust fall onto the revelers as Swagger tries to punch him. Cole laughs about how Swagger got "humiliated" by this. Swagger is distracted, turns around and is kicked in the mouth by RVD. Five Star Frog Splash and the match is over. Rose dances after. Not sure how long it'll last but Rose is fun for now.

The Shield start Raw upset about the attack they suffered last week. Reigns has this awesome combination of pissed off and cool, I can just imagine Vince seeing dollar signs every time Reigns cuts a promo. They show Evolution arriving at the arena and The Shield rush to the back to attack. They surprise Evolution and dish out some punishment before security (including Finlay and Joey Mercury) breaks things up. Evolution is left laying backstage. I was happy to see The Shield not sitting back and crying about what happened, but taking action and fighting back.

Cena runs wild to start, then tags out to an Uso who takes the heat for a while. Other Uso tags in and things break down. An Uso hits a dive to the outside onto Rowen, Wyatt, and Cena. This is Wyatt's second bump outside the ring and both times, he falls to his back a lies there with his eyes wide open. The other Uso attempts his own dive, but is caught with a huge clothesline out of nowhere from Harper for the pin. Standard Smackdown main event.
-
Earlier on this show, Ambrose and Reigns were both visibly still beat up and selling an attack by Evolution on Raw. You don't really get the same feeling from Rollins here. Batista pulls the Finlay card and use the ring apron to catch Rollins as he slides out the ring and beats him down as he is trapped inside. Rollins fights out of a Batista Bomb and throws Batista outside. He attempts a plancha from the corner but Batista sidesteps and Rollins eats the announce table. Batista rolls in and wins by count out. He gives Rollins a Batista Bomb after and leaves him laying.
-
Henry cuts an inset promo that he is still upset about being beaten up 3 on 1 by the Shield in the past and is now going to welcome Reigns to the Hall of Pain. Reigns is not 100% thanks to a beatdown by Evolution on Raw. He sells a lot, but comes back with a Samoan Drop and a Spear to get the win. They put over how Reigns really had to dig deep to get this win.

Kongo is comically large, Cannon is an average looking small flippy indie guy. This was a fun big guy/little guy battle. Cannon tries his hardest to knock Kongo over, but it just takes one blow from Kongo to level Cannon. They go outside the ring and Cannon tries three topes in a row but still can't topple Kongo, then runs all the way around the ring and dives off the top turnbuckle and gets caught by Kongo with ease. I thought Kongo attempting a cannonball into the corner was a ridiculous idea for a guy his size, but it set up the coolest spot of the night when Cannon managed to hang from the rafters and drop a double stomp onto Kongo's back. Cannon could've won the match but Kongo was so large, Cannon couldn't roll him over onto his back to attempt a pin. He finally does and Kongo kicks out at 1. He wins soon after with a splash off the top rope. This was part of a title tournament and was fun enough to make me want to see where Kongo goes from here.

Rough night for RVD. He distracts himself chasing Cesaro outside only to get laid out by Barrett. Later, he misses a kick to Cesaro and takes out his own partner instead, leading to the loss. He then gets thrown into the barrier. At least his gear looked cool.
-
The commentary put this match over as a heated rivalry that had me expecting a war. That's not what we got. Both guys looked like they blew up after 5 minutes. There were multiple breaks in the match for comedy in this blood feud. When there was action, it looked fine. LA Park looked pretty crisp when he was throwing strikes, they were just few and far between. Sean Waltman on commentary tried to justify it as wrestling in a mask and bodysuit under the hot lights. Later he would criticize LA Park multiple times for not putting any effort in to his pin attempts. Maybe my expectations were set high early, but I was not impressed.
