  1. Warrior forcing Brother Love to put on the dress seemed a lot like a heelish act. That's not the kind of shit your top babyface should be doing. It's the heels who are bullies when things don't go their way, or maybe it's opposite in Vince world.
  2. Roddy shitting all over Warrior is such a great thing to hear.
  3. Idol and Gilbert kill it here. It's nice to see some villains back in Memphis who the fans don't want to love so much they will never boo. Especially when they are as great in a studio setting as Idol and Gilbert are.
  4. If I liked WWF style nonsense, this would have come off a lot better for me. As it is, just some funny stuff featuring a bunch of cartoonish versions of wrestlers I like far more in other settings.
  5. I'm with Drew on Sherri after Piper's slap. Macho should have joined in as well. Good stuff from Sherri and Savage during the promo (surprising, I know) and Warrior...well, we're stuck with him for a while.
  6. Tenryu in a spotfest?? Odd for sure, but definitely very good. Tenryu brings enough gravity that it makes this match into something more than what it would have been.
  7. Dusty was tremendous here as the sympathetic father trying to protect his son. Most of this WWF footage is new to me and Ted is really impressive as a heel.
  8. Better than the Warrior in promos or regular matches, so it has that going for it. Not to say that means a whole lot....
  9. Best comeback ever? I'm still going with the HUGE comeback against Bock or the LLT match (the one after the one-eyed Lawler) with Dundee. Even so, this one was very close to that level. Idol did his part with the double cross that I don't think anyone was surprised by. But this was 90% Lawler being incredible.
  10. I watched this months ago and still remember it. Funk is completely and totally insane, what a great great performance. That Lawler's sympathetic babyface performance here is overshadowed says a lot. It's one of Lawler's two biggest strengths and Funk can just overwhelm it like it's nothing.
  11. I enjoyed the way they teased the screwjob finish. Really good match that you don't expect from Memphis, but a lot of the details are kinda blurred at this point.
  12. Craig being in way over his head is kind of a foregone conclusion. Kinda unhappy they brought him back. Fun match between two guys who know their trade very well.
  13. Idol is passable here. Shades of a turn in Idol's post-match promo?
  14. This makes sense given the argument the had earlier in the week. They both are out to prove they deserve to be here more than the other. So they try to keep things as clean as possible before tempers start flaring.
  15. Liked seeing pre-Undertaker Callous get to look good. Lawler was taking it easy, but we still manage to get a good match out of it.
  16. Terry Funk is absolutely amazing. Craig being back is...well, not terrible anyway. Pedecino is really, really good as an announcer.
  17. Take that Meltzer! That'll show you who not to trash! Seriously, was this necessary?
  18. Can we please please PLEEEEASE be done with this God forsaken Black Scorpion angle? I feel like Ole is deliberately trying to tank things (and give viewers migraines).
  19. Nasties were never a team I got. But there is definitely a vibe to them that feels different than pretty much anything else at the time. And it's an intriguing matchup with the more technical (but still capable brawlers) the Steiners.
  20. Great tag team division, somehow they didn't make the best use of it they could. Imagine WCW not using their resources to their best.
  21. I had no idea Ace was this good in 1990. Jumbo is probably the best ace ever in terms of giving guys lower on the totem pole chances to shine.
  22. This was not great. But as mentioned above, if there are no belts what else are you going to use to set things up? I do agree that basically calling your guy a chump in relation to some other promotion's guy is probably not the best idea.
  23. Don't get me wrong, I love Flair on the mic and he can talk people into a building. But Arn promos always seem more up my alley. Flair backing up Arn is no problem at all for me.
  24. Eddie is so great as the complete and total prick, but also justified. If these two didn't have real life heat they sure were good at making it seem like they did.
  25. The suits really do set this apart from the majority of 1990 USWA. The touch of class when dealing with the heavyweight title seems right. Snowman remarks aside that is.
