  1. - For immediate release... From the desk of the "Cowboy" Bill Watts Ladies and gentlemen, it is a glorious day for Mid South Wrestling. Due to the financial success of last night's Superdome Extravaganza, Mid South Wrestling is proud to let it's fans know that we will be moving our television to air on Thursday nights with a partnership with FOX! We will be coming to you from WVUE out of New Orleans. In addition to this change, we have been picked up by Fox affiliates all over the Mid South Territory! KOKH out of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, KLRT-TV out of Little Rock, Arkansas, WXXV out of Jackson, Mississippi, and KRIV out of Houston, Texas! All of these changes will take place on Thursday October, 6th. Mid South Wrestling will be shown all over the Mid South area with some of the top stars in the sport including the Junkyard Dog, Mr. Wrestling II, ThunderBolt Patterson, Bruiser Brody, Stan Hansen, and the Fantastics! We would also like to announce that we will be hosting a television special on Saturday night October the 15th from the Sam Houston Coliseum in Houston, Texas in which we will have THREE huge title matches. On that night you will see the tag team titles defended, we will crown a NEW Mid South Television Champion as the Ironman Tournament Finals will take place, and in the Main Event, for the North American Championship, the Junkyard Dog will be defending his title. We will have more details on those matches in coming weeks and we hope all of our fans will enjoy the best wrestling action in the country with Mid South Wrestling! "Cowboy" Bill Watts
  2. I have that plan but since parv went down I just wanted to make sure I wasn't doing something wrong by run and shows there. I'm guessing I can't do the US political scheme of making trades right before the promotion goes under. I believe I'm just going to do the Meadowlands show and leave it at that for whomever takes over as it is a good spot for somebody to pick up their plans from that broadcast.
  3. Should we have everyone reply to this post to say that they are keeping their own promotion? I'm just kidding. I did want to let whomever takes over WWF know, that I have the Meadowlands show in which Bockwinkel and Backlund finally meet written if that he wants to be posted or not.
  4. Going against everything I have been debating, I will be passing on these guys to see who makes it to free agency.
  5. I know I haven't taken part too much in the discussion on here and I am hoping to dip my toe in slowly, but for a number one, Billy Robinson is a guy that was one of the most fluid workers I have ever seen. He had a great catch as catch can style and is fun to go back and see. Nothing against Flair, Savage, Steamboat, and some of the others as they were all great. It is almost a different style. You guys all have a rich history of watching, and really some of the best wrestling from guys like Flair and Steamboat may never be seen as it wasn't taped. Just putting Billy Robinson out there as a guy that I really think had it going on when it comes to the "wrestling" aspect of professional wrestling.

  7. No problem. I just wanted to put it out there. And be sure to edit yourself... I didn't set this thread up. I apologize for being an instigator in the matter though.
  8. 9/24 Mid South Wrestling Presents: SUPERDOME EXTRAVAGANZA 1! The Tonga Kid vs Tiger Chung Lee w/ Tojo {A great opening contest with Tonga and Tiger picking right up where they left off earlier tonight on television. This one goes about 12-minutes with Tiger controlling the contest and Tiger fighting back with some big offense. Tonga is able to turn the tide and he comes with some high flying offense that sends Tiger backing up. Tonga goes for a big high cross body but Tiger catches him and POWERSLAM for a nearfall as Tonga was close to the ropes. Tiger then works over the shoulder and goes for a SHOULDER BREAKER! Again a close two count and Tonga Kid is finding something down deep. Tiger is getting worried as Tojo gives him something. It looks like SALT! Tojo grabs the referee. Tiger goes to toss that SALT but Tonga kicks his hand up and Tiger is blinded himself! Tonga shakes out the cobwebs and then he goes up top! Tiger turns around and HIGH CROSS BODY for the 1….2…3! Tonga has won it! The crowd pops and Tonga once again with a big victory!} Mr. Wrestling II vs ‘Cowboy’ Scott Casey {One wouldn’t have thought it, but Scott Casey has got some real heat coming in to this one. He is working the crowd from the moment he steps out of the entryway. Wrestling II is such a legendary figure here and the Superdome crowd loves him. This is a weird 9-minute affair. Wrestling II tries to keep it a wrestling match but Scott Casey has got other plans. He spends a majority of the match trying to rip off the mask and reveal Wrestling II. He is hammering with rights and lefts on the skull and doing anything he can to rip off the mask. Scott Casey is able to reverse a high knee and he then hits a BULLDOG on Wrestling II! He could go for the cover but Casey is gloating. He walks over and picks up Wrestling II….he hammers with some rights and then he goes and unties the mask and rips it off! OMG! He holds the mask up but Wrestling II HAS ANOTHER ONE ON! Wrestling II hits the ropes and then a big HIGH KNEE and Casey goes down for the 1….2…3!! Wrestling II has won it and the crowd explodes. He steps out of the ring and shakes off the fight. Casey is irate and he wants more!} The Fantastics vs The German Destroyers {A great little tag team encounter here. This one is nothing too crazy, just a nice 11-minute contest. The Germans start off strong. We see the Fantastics work some quick offense and make some fast tags. It is the Baron who controls the tide and the Germans slow it down one more time. They work over Fulton something awful but he makes a huge tag to Tommy Rogers who has got a rocket strapped to his back. Some big time strikes and he nails a double high cross body. The Germans are backing up as Fulton and Rogers get together for a pair of double dropkicks and the Baron goes flying out of the ring to the floor! Von Hess runs with a clothesline but they duck and they come back with a huge double monkey flip! Rogers sets…. Fulton lines up and ROCKET LAUNCHER for the 1….2…3! Bobby and Tommy work the crowd as there are big things lined up for these two youngsters.} ThunderBolt Patterson vs The Sheik {These two guys bring a whole new level of hatred to the ring tonight. This is a wild brawl to start and ThunderBolt is holding right there with the Sheik. Sheik continues to try and take things outside the ring and brawl but ThunderBolt has control. The contest goes a fast 12-minutes. Sheik gets busted open outside the ring but he continues to go after Patterson. ThunderBolt looks to finish and goes for the Spinebuster but Sheik has something in his hand and he CRACKS Patterson. ThunderBolt goes down hard. He turns him over and locks in the camel clutch! Thunderbolt is out of it right now. He can’t answer the referee and the Sheik has won it! He has to get out of the ring with his life because the crowd looks like they are ready to swarm! Security escorts him back as he is littered with debris!} NWA MINI WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP Cowboy Lang vs Little Tokyo © {Our first of four title matches in a row tonight. Lang has got a great following here. We get some fun comedy with these two in the beginning but this is a showcase of their abilities and they are in prime form. These guys go for around 14-minutes nd really give it everything they’ve got. The fans get a little bit restless but Tokyo and Lang pick up the pace and wow the crowd. Lang is looking to finish with a big suplex but Tokyo jumps over his back and then grabs him for a small package and a 1…2…3! Tokyo grabs the belt and he holds it up. Lang is looking for revenge as they run around the ring and then to the back!} MID SOUTH TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP Bruiser Brody & Stan Hansen vs The Wild Samoans © w/ The Grand Wizard {This is one of the biggest events on the card. The Tag Team Titles are on the line and the fans are just building and building. Stan Hansen has got a lot of tape on that left arm. Brody has to do a majority of the work and there’s nothing wrong with it. This one has two parts. The first being a tag team encounter with both teams working well enough. The second part of this contest sees ALL HELL BREAK LOOSE! The Grand Wizard loses control of his men and they are brawling with the best brawlers in the game! Brody and Hansen almost seem outmatched due to Hansen’s injury… but Hansen is as tough as they come and he comes out with a blind fury and lemme tell ya, it is something to behold. Brody stands back and watches Hansen’s adrenaline push him over the top and he controls the contest. Afa comes with a clothesline but Hansen ducks and he comes with a LARIAT and Afa goes out of the ring to the floor! Sika runs for a double axe-handle but Hansen moves and he nails a LARIAT on Sika! Brody runs and FLYING KNEE DROP! 1….2….3! WE HAVE NEW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS! Brody and Hansen have WON IT! The crowd is going NUTS! They get the belts and hold them high in the air!} NWA CANADIAN CHAMPIONSHIP Rick Martel © vs Don Muraco w/ The Grand Wizard {The Grand Wizard is physically flustered from that previous contest. This one is one of the longer contests of the night as these guys go 20 solid minutes. Muraco is gassed at the end but he pulls something out of his heart to put together a great contest with Martel. The fans aren’t too aware of Martel but he is going against one of the most hated men in Mid South right now and they enjoy that. Muraco works the neck and Martel comes back to work the back. Muraco even gets close to finishing the contest with a nice TOMBSTONE but Martel is right by the ropes. Muraco is irate and he’s going nuts on the referee! Martel is slowly getting up and Muraco is caught off guard for a small package and a close two count! Muraco is still shaken and he nails a couple of rights and tosses him to the ropes and goes for a dropkick but Martel blocks it, he grabs the legs and BOSTON CRAB! He has it locked in right in the middle of the ring and Muraco has no choice but to give it up! Martel is the winner and he retains the NWA Canadian Championship.} MAIN EVENT NORTH AMERICAN CHAMPIONSHIP DOG-COLLAR MATCH LOSER LEAVES TOWN MATCH The Junkyard Dog vs Ted Dibiase © {It all comes down to this. Huge entrances from both men and you can cut the tension with a knife right now. Bill Watts is ringside, as is a slew of security. Dibiase is doing everything he can to not get locked up in that chain and when he tries to run Watts stops him and then the JYD gets him from behind and locks him up. Violent is the best way to describe this one. Early on, Dibiase gets busted WIDE open and he is in a bad way early on. JYD continues to hammer away but a LOW BLOW turns the tide! It makes the fans mad but it is all legal. Dibiase then goes into a series and he works over the JYD with the chain and the Dog is busted wide open. There is blood all over the ring and these two guys leave everything they’ve got in the ring. Dibiase gets a couple of near falls but the Dog is feeling it. JYD fights back with a couple of HUGE strikes and he regain control. He is looking to finish but Dibiase with a nasty chain shot and JYD goes down. Dibiase then reaches into the tights and he pulls out the glove. He has got the loaded glove on his hand and he goes down and pounds at the Dog’s face! Dibiase spends a moment too long as he is yelling at Watts. Dibiase says it is time to finish it and he picks up JYD and goes for a big right hand but JYD ducks and then an ATOMIC DROP! JYD grabs the hand and rips off that glove… he puts it on and he CRACKS DIBIASE! JYD takes off the glove and throws it out into the crowd! The fans are going nuts! You can feel it right now… the SUPERDOME IS SHAKING! The blood is flowing and JYD picks up Dibiase and hoists him up… he circles the ring and then nails the THUMP! The crowd counts along for the 1…..2….3!!! THE JYD HAS WON IT! THE JYD IS THE NEW NORTH AMERICAN HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION! TED DIBIASE MUST LEAVE MID SOUTH! THE SUPERDOME ERUPTS! Watts grabs the title and steps into the ring and gives it to the JYD! Here comes Brody, the Fantastics, and Wrestling II. They are celebrating with the JYD in the ring as he is hoisted up with the belt! The fans are screaming for the JYD as Dibiase is being carried to the back by the referee. He is a bloody mess! JYD puts the belt around his waist and the fans erupt one more time!}
  9. 100% better with the formatting. I am nitpicky on everything being bold, but I am an italicizer so I can't complain too much. In terms of the booking, good match write ups and ability to keep the feuds going. Good match write ups and decent promos. I like the "fan" chatter as well. I once did a show completely from a fan perspective, it was a challenge but quite entertaining to read. Looking forward to what you built to in the future when your get your own promotion.
  10. I hope it is understood that I am not trying to hold this decision hostage. We all want a suitable WWF and I am offering to do it, more than suitable in my opinion. I just think that there's something to be said about leaving a territory and trading talent to come in. Hell I don't even get one of the guys for the first month so I have to play catch up. Not to mention I lose two of the top feuds in the promotion from the trade. This is honestly just an option, if those of you in power are good, I will run the WWF and keep to myself and try to help everyone out with deals with Andre, Steamboat, and Ted. All three would be available for bookings, especially with the WWF template of how the shows are currently ran.
  11. Didn't doubt you jhawk, just wanted the confirmation. Keep doing work.
  12. I don't want more hoops guys. Just offering an option. You honestly need to look at the wwf roster without all the deals and see how low it is. Savage is gone after this week. Dory is gone. I lose the Brisco in the trade. It is a company reliant on trades which I haven't been overly huge on. One question to be would be a trade in place with grimmas. Would that guy come to mid south or wwf. Is it a trade to the promotin or booker?
  13. And not to mention Japanese dates that take people away for extended times. Not to mention Briscos for Fantastics would be two greens for two certified pros and a former nwa champ.
  14. And regarding dibiase, I'd have a story put together without question and it would be big.
  15. Backlund is the top babyface. Jyd is the top babyface. What else would be there. This was a fantasy draft. We don't need to jump realistic and fantasy lines on each decision.
  16. I'd add more but honestly there isn't a lot up there to give. I'd be losing too much giving up steamboat for ted. Essentially steamboat is jyd. Backlund is ted.
  17. Again, it is a question of luck with that draft, which is our procedure. If I could trade DiBiase and Fantastics for Backlund and Brisco brothers I'd swap to wwf. I'd uphold deals and modify the parvs way of thinking. That leaves mid south with quite a bit still including JYD and othera especially coming off a huge Superdome show and freelancers booked through the end of the year.
  18. I look at the number of workers I have right now... wrestlers and everything... 26. We all know the Grand Wizard dies in less than a month so I just dropped to 25. Now when I think about size, I would view this as a "regional" size promotion. Now all be it, I funnel in talent and use free lancers to bolster up to around 30... the promotion is almost to the next level. I would say having 30-35 guys would raise a regional promotion up but also in those 30, you have enough to have solid spots in the Main Event (which should only have 4 guys at the MOST) and then some upper mid card guys, a few mid card, and then a bunch of dudes who are getting a paycheck. If you look at what I've done with Mid South since I got it... and what I have done over the past month, I never brought WWF guys in to Mid South to work. It was the opposite way around. I never used the WWF for that, I used Mid South to bolster the WWF... because as "promising" as that roster looks, the meat and potatoes need seasoning no matter what. I guess like Goc said, there is really no merit for doing more than someone else, which is a tad frustrating when we think about what Vince, Crockett, and Watts did in real life to do more, they got more out of it. I simply want to raise Mid South to that level by working harder which I have done since picking it up.
  19. And trust me guys I'm having fun, outside of the personal BS, which I'm doing my best to try and get over and not worry about any more, this is a great experience and I'm beyond thankful to be a part of it. I hope everybody understands that. I simply I'm trying to put my opinion out there if it's not going to be taken I'm completely fine with that and like I said I will shut my mouth and continue to do what I'm doing and know that this is how it's going to stand.
  20. I guess that's why I'm still missed on the merger idea. And this is nothing against Southwest, but who's to say that all of those guys and Dallas would directly go to Southwest while you would have the ability to go to other places like Georgia and Florida and mid-atlantic where they were showcased. That's the only reason why I push for a draft, is so that individuals can be dispersed equally rather than going to one specific promotion. When this happens, those of you that want to run territory that are smaller have the choice to pass in the draft while those of us that want to expand our rosters more then have the ability to take those talents and build up their promotion. I believe GOC has said in the past but he wants to run a small territory style promotion. If world class were to be absorbed by him he was almost losing that identity if he were to take some of those big name stars out of that promotion. He would have the choice to pass on the merger but again that is the simple fault of the system. It would be hard for me to comprehend that an individual like Bill Watts Jim Crockett or Vince McMahon wouldn't sleep in and try to buy out Kerry Von Erichs contract or Big John Studd contract. Or if that individual was working in a talent trade with somebody else that they wouldn't simply stay there if the promotion died. Again this is all just something to think about. If it is on deaf ears I will simply shut my mouth and not worry about it anymore and conclude with what I've done. I also apologize if some of this doesn't quite make sense as I am talking through my phone.
  21. That is true to some respect, but I want to be able to build my promotion up to that level. We all know that Bill Watts wanted to expand. I simply want to do the same thing. I know that it's going to be difficult to try and account trades after all this is said and done because people Harbor rough feelings. Anyone who has dealt with me can simply understand that am fair and trustworthy. I simply want the ability for my promotion to grow vertically.
  22. My goal is not to have to switch promotions in order for that to happen though. My goal is to build MidSouth up so that it could become a promotion of that size. What we are saying is that the only way for that to happen is for the promotion in front of me to go down. That's my only frustration I don't want to have to hope that goc goes away that I can have a bigger promotion. That is not very cooperative in my opinion. I simply want to be able to build MidSouth.
  23. I apologize for taking up everyone's time. This conversation continues to go in circles. I will simply continue to do what I'm doing. Ice just wanted to do things a notch above what we're doing currently. It doesn't seem as though there's any vertical growth as we continue to use lateral movements.
  24. I cannot express it any more clearly that you guys use the term mega roster. I don't want a mega roster. I simply want a roster that would be one level up from what I currently have. I would hardly call that mega. I am NOT simply putting on shows for my own benefit this would be a way to hold a bigger shows for bigger markets. It's hard for me to believe that the Superdome is the equivalent of a big show in Vancouver. It is hard for me to believe that MSG get the exact same kind of guys that would come in Memphis. I guess I am wrestling every feather I can by wanting more out of this then simply just running a small territory and for that I guess I have to apologize. I have that mindset of wanting to do something just a size bigger than what we're doing. I don't plan on creating a global conglomerate that runs everyone out of business. That is not my goal by any means at all. I do not need every megastar, I simply want to put together a roster of individuals that would allow me to run two house shows a day that would allow me to put on shows bigger than what I have right now.
  25. Hence my push for that exact part of the game to change. If it if falling on deaf ears and there's no way for that to happen, just let me know. In my opinio, this project would be better with promotions at different levels rather than everyone the same. Some of us do more and there should be a silver lining for that.
