I may be the small minority on this one, but wouldn't it be more realistic to not know who is coming out 6 months down the line? I am guessing 2-3 months at the most. Wouldn't that be more realistic if we are trying to keep to that accord?

I posted the free agency wire - http://prowrestlingonly.com/index.php?/topic/31871-free-agency-wire/ Let me know if you have questions - we will start Monday @ 12am eastern. Remember, in order to make a selection, you have to drop someone. Hopefully this works out well and we can continue to see this list grow with more drafts and such.

I think that when I write that kind of a minis match, the crowd is just pumped to see them. So the pop is a small one, no pun intended, just for the contest. He will definitely be heeled up next time he shows up in Mid South... LIVE FROM THE SUPERDOME ON SEPTEMBER 24th! -

We then cut to Boyd Pierce who’s in the ring as Jim Ross and Bill Watts put this big night through the roof!} Boyd Piece: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Mid South Wrestling. Our opening contest is a special attraction… a MINI BATTLE ROYAL! {The crowd pops for this as we cut to the ring as it is filled with the minis…Boyd let’s us know that these little guys can go through the ropes to be eliminated or they can be pinned… looks like we have a Japanese rules battle royal tonight!} MINI BATTLE ROYAL Little Tokyo, Cowboy Lang, Lone Eagle, Tiny Tom, Little Coco, Chili Bowl, Butch Cassidy, Sonny Boy Hayes, The Haiti Kid, & Tiger Jackson {A fun contest here with some great talents. Bill Watts and Jim Ross put over the pinning eliminations. Little Tokyo looks strong tonight as does Cowboy Lang and Tiger Jackson. The crowd erupts as Chili Bowl gets in some big strikes but then Tokyo with a nasty kick to the throat and they all cover him for the 1…2…3!! We get a couple more eliminations as the ring is dwindling down to Jackson, Lang, and Tokyo. Tokyo and Jackson team up for a moment but Tokyo with a nasty crescent kick that sends Jackson out of the ring to the floor. Cowboy Lang then gets the crowd solidly behind him. Cowboy with some big chops and then a big head scissors take down! Cowboy goes for the cover for the 1…2… KICK OUT! Tokyo stumbles up as Lang hits the ropes and runs for a big shoulder block but Tokyo trips him and sends him flying out of the ring to the floor! PeeWee Anderson raises Tokyo’s hand as the crowd pops!} Bill Watts: Lemme tell you something Jim Ross… Little Tokyo did exactly what needed to be done. Jim Ross: He is one of the best little wrestlers in the world and we just saw why right there. Bill: Speaking of the best, fans tonight we have got one of the best main events in the country coming your way… we will see the Junkyard Dog and the Sheik going one on one! Jim: I think we need to tell the fans to maybe have the youngsters leave the room during that contest… you never know what the Sheik will do! Bill: Well tonight fans we also have a huge six-man tag… and lemme tell ya, Muraco and the Samoans better get something straight… they are in for a FIGHT tonight! Jim: Well Bill you saw the footage earlier, we had the cameras recording when we got here today… we never guessed who would show up… {We cut to footage of Mr. Wrestling II and ThunderBolt showing up today… then they open up the door and out walks the N.W.A. United States Champion Dr. D Dave Schultz! He shakes their hands and we know there is going to be a fight!} *COMMERCIAL* {We return to Mid South with footage from this issue between Steve O and Tiger Chung Lee. We cut to Jim Ross and Bill Watts as Steve O is standing by with them…} Jim: Fans welcome back to Mid South Wrestling. For weeks now we have seen this issue arise with Steve O and Tiger Chung Lee. Steve joins us right now… Steve next week it is kind of a winner takes all match with the two of you… Steve O: Well Jim Ross, I have to say, that I don’t say much. I do a lot of my talking, right there in that ring! Tiger Chung Lee and Tojo… they are about as dirty of dogs as you can get in wrestling. They tried to take me down and out but brother… I am right here to tell you that it will never happen! I fought back and I am going to take THEM OUT next week! You can count on it! Bill: A man of few words there Jimbo… lemme tell ya, that’s going to be a one on one brawl next week right here but right now we’ve got some big action coming up. Let’s take it to the ring! Sweet Daddy Siki vs Kurt Von Hess {This one picks right up where things left off last week. Bill and Jim put over Burrhead Jones and The Baron who have been “banned” from ringside and Bill says perhaps we will see this tag team explosion here on television soon. This one gets a little bit of time and Sweet Daddy Siki looks good against the German Von Hess who utilizes the claw to wear him down but Siki builds back up and nails a couple of big right hands. The Baron runs down to the ring and jumps up on the apron as he’s looking to get involved. Burrhead runs down and grabs his leg as Sweet Daddy hoists up Von Hess and nails the AIRPLANE SPIN and he NAILS the Baron off the rope with Von Hess’ boot! Sweet Daddy with a cover for the 1…2…3!! The crowd is going wild for Sweet Daddy and Burrhead. They work the crowd as the Germans are looking for revenge! Bill and Jim then continue to put over the Germans and Jones & Siki. They talk about this one boiling up at some point soon. The crowd then begins to scream as the SHEIK is shown coming out! Bill Watts asks what in the hell is gong on here… this match isn’t next… what will happen when we return!?!} *COMMERCIAL* {Mid South returns as the Sheik is in the ring. Bill Watts and officials are down by the ring trying to figure out what is going on… all of a sudden….} https://www.youtube.com/embed/QvwDohEEQ1E {THE JYD IS HERE! He comes out in his jeans and he takes off his t-shirt and it looks like this one is about to happen right now! Ross is going nuts on commentary as Bill Watts is trying to hold the JYD back… all of a sudden out of the back… TED DIBIASE! Dibiase runs out and he NAILS JYD! The crowd is going nuts right now! Dibiase is kicking and stomping away at the JYD. The officials and Bill Watts back off Ted Dibiase…. Watts and Dibiase have some serious heated words and the crowd is hot right now! Dibiase then yells that he will have a special gift for JYD next week! The officials are checking on JYD as the Sheik comes out and he just KICKS the JYD in the face about as hard as someone can be kicked! The Sheik pulls the JYD back into the ring. Sheik is pounding and punching and kicking…. The officials are trying to pull him off! Here comes Wrestling II and ThunderBolt as the Sheik is about to throw the Fireball but they back him out of the ring. The JYD is hurt in a very bad way here….} Jim: FANS… THIS IS AN OUTRAGE! JYD WASN’T EVEN READY FOR THE MATCH! Bill: SHEIK IS A LOW DOWN DIRTY DOG! This match was supposed to be the main event! Jim: Fans we will be back in just a moment and we will have an update on the Junkyard Dog! *COMMERCIAL* Jim: Fans we are back and Bill… it wasn’t good for the JYD right there. Bill: The Sheik is a good for nothing… lemme tell you something… I know it… I know it to be a fact… Ted Dibiase is paying these guys to take out the Junkyard Dog… he is afraid of the Dog… he knows the Dog has his number and fans… on September the 24th in the Superdome… Ted Dibiase is going to get his! Jim: The question has got to be asked if the JYD will make it. He was almost blinded by the Sheik last week… Bill: The JYD is double-tough. He is a man who will do whatever it takes… {We then see the JYD being helped to the back, as he is just a mess. In the ring ThunderBolt and Wrestling II are standing by as we see Muraco and the Samoans walk out to the ring. The crowd is white hot right now as everyone knows the Grand Wizard has ties with Dibiase. They jump into the ring and this one is already getting going!} MAIN EVENT Dr. D. Dave Schultz, Mr. Wrestling II, & ThunderBolt Patterson vs Don Muraco & The Wild Samoans w/ the Grand Wizard {This is a 3 on 2 beat-down to get things going and the crowd is going wild! Jim and Bill are just on fire right now degrading the Grand Wizard as his men. The crowd then EXPLODES as DR. D IS SHOWN RUNNING OUT TO THE RING! OH MY! He jumps in and HERE WE GO! We have got some big rights and lefts and the Samoans and Muraco go flying. The NWA UNITED STATES CHAMPION DR.D IS IN THE HOUSE! This one calms down a moment and we get into a good 13-minute contest. Wrestling II and ThunderBolt do a lot of the selling here as the Samoans are just beasts right now. Muraco is just a shit-kicking heel who has the crowd eating out of the palm of his hand. He and the Samoans get some nice work on ThunderBolt as Ross puts over that big tag title rematch in the cage that would be going on tonight in Alexandria. We see ThunderBolt get beaten down to just about nothing but the fans cheer for him all the way back up and Dr. D gets the big tag and he comes in like a house of fire with some HUGE SHOTS! Dr. D is going wild with some big rights, lefts, kicks, and then a couple of big BODY SLAMS on the Samoans! Muraco comes in and Dr. D nails him with some big shots and sends him to the ropes for a BIG BACK BODY DROP! The Samoans get up but here comes Wrestling II and ThunderBolt with a couple of tackles and they go out of the ring to the floor. Muraco feeds back up and Dr. D grabs him for a PILEDRIVER! 1…2….3!! The crowd explodes! Dr. D, Wrestling II, celebrate in the ring. Muraco is shaken as the Samoans walk him to the back. The Grand Wizard says this is nowhere near over! Ross and Watts put over the six-man and say they hope that the JYD will make it back for the big show tonight in Alexandria… here is a look at the card!} MID SOUTH WRESTLING LIVE! As we discussed, I did kind of spoil this by reading the television first. I have to say, the Super Russian was a good angle. On one hand, you could have put a relative unknown or semi known guy in there to get a monster push out of it, but having Valentine as the pay off really works well. I think with him, Wahoo, and Martel, you have got a SOLID trio at the top that is to be desired by most. Good use of Andre in the royal. You know I am a mark for them and he was the best. As long as you keep using the minis, things will get a little better each time around.

Just to clarify, in order to book one, you have to swap them with a member of your roster. There's no telling whether or not that individual will be around when you try to pick him up the following week. It is easier to do weekly than daily if your looking to make one pick, or else it could get crazy if we try to do daily picks and keeping track.
-
I really like this television. You and I discussed the super Russian a while ago and the coming to life moment of it was quite good. A nice stretcher job for Wahoo who may not be able to come back from this kind of a beat down. You definitely have some strong suitors at the top and if I were Martel, I would be worried about what is waiting in the wings. Very good stuff from one of the most consistent promotions running right now.
-
I think you guys are doing great building Hogan and the Road Warriors. It is interesting to see how this will play out over the end of the year going into 84, and the marquee feud would be between the two parties in some shape or form, or to have them join forces but it would take some kind of a special force to go against them. You've got some nice pieces in place and Patera v Hogan is a great way to keep things going. Great 2nd month!
-
I am definitely getting more acquainted with the names but I am still way off. It's fun to think about how promotions like this would have gone over and how they built big stars with the talent they had. I think there is a lot of fuel in the MXE and Rougeau feud.
-
I am patiently waiting for the concession stand brawl. King v King with Lawler and Ladd... something that would be very fun to see at this point. Lawler always went over the big guy, but Ladd is a whole different beast.

Georgia Championship Wrestling Cards & Results Thread
LowBlowPodcast replied to KrisZ's topic in The Archives
Jake vs Butch at the top of the card is something special. I am interested to see who is next in line in the main event scene here as I think both guys still have some huge potential coming out of this feud whenever it comes to fruition. I agree with Grimmas - Jake is perhaps the star who has benefited most from us doing this draft. I also want to keep my eyes on Paul Orndroff, he seems to be someone who could explode upwards in a big way at any moment in time. -
Good end of the month. You and I have discussed the plans and I am interested to see where things unfolds in your eyes as we both had visions of it. Without a doubt... Freebirds & Flair is going to be must watch, however it happens.

Nothing wrong with the Chicago card in my opinion. One of the more stacked supercards of the month and a main event with a huge payoff. Very productive stuff going here and the influx will only make it better. -

Boon you definitely have the ability to plow through some shows here. I am not too knowledge about SouthEast so this has been a learning experience for me. I think you've got a young hungry roster with some veterans to top it off. Scott Armstrong, Bobby Eaton, and Tom Pritchard all have high hopes in my opinion. -
We have 5 votes for the free agency, any other opinions? I could get this going in the next 24 hours if we're all in on it.

You really have a great stable of characters to go against the Von Erich boys. It is a shame you don't have David to complete the trio before he goes away. He would be great here with the characters you have and I would personally love to see David v Studd. -
Capitol Sports Promotions (Puerto Rico)
LowBlowPodcast replied to El Boricua's topic in The Archives
You've got a great eclectic group of talent. I did notice one thing... at the end of this... Harley Race & Dick Slater w/Hugo Savinovich & Barrabas defeated Carlos Colon & Mil Mascaras by pinfall at 19:30 when Race pinned Colon after Slater used a boot thrown in by Hugo Savinovich to nail Carlos Colon from behind. You forgot to mention the riot and near death of Slater and Race. I like Puerto Rico and your style. Without a doubt you have an nitch for your roster and given the setting, it would quite the event to see. -
You, like the others have used Funk to his premiere excellence. I also like seeing the British rules wrestling match. This is the perfect place for it to pop up out of nowhere. Gotta give props for Bret vs Ted Dibiase... 2nd generation guys... both in great shape... it would definitely be safe to say that Bret is becoming one of the most seasoned workers in the business right now and he has been up against top opponents all summer.

Tune in to WGNO this Saturday for Mid South Wrestling! -
Yes, we would put the list together once you close the draft. I think some of those guys have value, but perhaps not worth giving up draft status... but that could come back to bite someone if they don't take the chance.
-
I just wanted to throw something out there for everyone. We can vote or agree or disagree, but simply just an option. One thing I'd like to look at is free agency. I think we've had some discussion before but I don't know if there was a resolution. What I propose is that we put together the individuals who were left over from the drafts and put them into a "free agency" list. These are individuals who are looking for a job and us as promoters can bring them in... with a catch. So right now... Terry Garvin Don Kolov Tony Torres Mark Savage Big Red Reese are all individuals who haven't been drafted and will be moving to the October draft without work. What I would like us to do is to be able to pick these guys up while forefitting one member of our roster. For example, in order for me to bring in Terry Garvin, I would need to give up Don Kent. Then Don Kent would go to the list, and he could then be picked up by AWA if they were to drop someone and so on. One of the rules would be that you can only do one swap a week if you'd like. We could set the time for that "week" to start on Monday at 12am. This list would be organic and able to change daily/weekly with new people going onto the list... then when it comes to a draft... we could add these guys to that draft or keep them with free agency, then add the individuals who weren't drafted to the free agency list when finished. I would be happy to take over the list and keep it up to date after anyone picks someone. Any thoughts?
