He said "I Love You, Connor".

I actually think the crowd is pushing Larry through, he's kind of lost his train of thought but they've stuck with him. And I got my "glorious years" quip.
-
Vader is in the crowd with the mask on. Classic! Maybe he'll get in the Hall next year, kind of surprised he isn't in yet.

Pretty cool they showed Gangrel when Rikishi mentioned him.

He was supposed to be a "second" for Doom. The Russian Brute from the AWA is also there, I'd presume as a "second" for the Horsemen. But they never bothered to mention either guy except when Heyman asked "who is that?" met with dead silence from JR .

That six-man was mentioned on TV. I think Hall was hurt and just never ended up coming back. I know he was out of Battlebowl at Starrcade (although he appeared with his arm in a sling), but maybe he'd already taped some TV to set up a Pillman angle and it just fizzled out. Pistols and Patriots were feuding over the US belts. And Taylor didn't have any vignettes, I think he just changed his name in one ringside interview with his new attitude.

Looking forward to Cena-Rusev, HHH-Sting, and Undertaker-Wyatt. Three matches I'm genuinely excited for is about two more than that last few years (last year was only Taker-Brock for instance since I sensed the streak ending, but was still shocked when it really happened). Brock-Reigns and Orton-Rollins are interesting based on not knowing who will win, and I'm a battle royal mark so that's a plus. Hate multi-man ladder matches but at least there are multiple guys that could win, and don't care about the Divas match or tag titles very much. So I'm pretty happy with the show overall.

He trained Stomper and Billy Graham, I know that off the top of my head. So I'm watching RAW right now, and what's the point of these dummies still chanting "CM PUNK!"? He's not coming back, he's apparently happier than he's been in years, and he's trying new things that he's excited about. If you're a fan I'd imagine you'd support him in what he's doing now rather than chant his name at an event he doesn't want anything to do with. They don't chant "CM Punk" for him personally as most likely have no clue what he's been up to since he left. The UFC signing was in and out of the sports news cycle in one day, and won't be back until he schedules an actual fight. They don't even chant it because they even really want him back. They chant it to get themselves over and think they are in on something clever.

I think 15, 16 (hate multi-man matches so no points for the tag team three way from me, and the shows only singles match is the Kat and Terri. HHH as the first heel to walk out with the belt just capped off a terrible show), and 27 are the three worst.

Got the coupon as well.

The Washington Post article I read said the Hogan banner is permanent with the Knicks and Rangers retired numbers. It's located between the Knicks and Liberty banners, but I don't know if those are up all year round.

I haven't watched much ECW on there, but I believe within the first month or so Joey Styles said he spent an entire day re-doing commentary for New Jack matches because they put in new music for them. And it's not just ECW, World Class also kind of loses some of the atmosphere when you take out entrance themes. So many guys were identifiable that way it takes away from the true nostalgia.

Weird because a parallel anti-obesity campaign is occuring just as aggressively. People are getting told that fat is beautiful at the same time as being told that fat is unhealthy and killing them. I don't think those are mutually exclusive. By all means you can be proud and happy if you are overweight, but it doesn't mean you aren't going to take years off your life.

Rollins has always seemed to be similar to Edge, first in look and wrestling style, then the MITB briefcase, so now maybe this will finally give him that last push as the new Rated-R Superstar. Either that or the new Val Venis .

Plus, Larryland and how he spent X amount of glorious years in the business

Are there any wrestlers from Spain actually in the company? Seriously though, some would probably get upset or confused about being listed as being "Spanish". Oddly enough Kane was born in Spain, but wouldn't count as Spanish lol. I'm also curious if you counted Seth Rollins as Hispanic and Damian Sandow as Arabic, or if they both got put in the "white" category?

I think they are merely a set up for an eventual heel turn, but at this point they are just babyfaces. They were over pretty well when Smackdown was here before Christmas. They are corny on promos, but once they are in ring, Kofi and Big E are the same guys they've always been, and I'd expect would be cheered just the same as they always have been. I'm a little surprised that they weren't pushed harder when they debuted, but pretty much just repackaged in the same spot they always were, only with matching gear and a catchphrase.

Always bothered me too. And similarly, I was watching the last Clash of Champions and some referred to Mongo as Steve McMichaels. Must be something about successful ex-NFL guys! That said, I doubt either cared if it was spelled right on the paycheck. -
I agree that we were never going to get beer drinking, bird flipping Stone Cold Steve Austin in WCW, but if he'd hung around I don't see why we wouldn't have at least gotten a rougher, tougher version of Stunning Steve Austin in WCW. That promo he cut on Ricky Steamboat at Fall Brawl 94 is pretty much prototype Stone Cold. Plus gimmick change or not. Austin was already losing his hair it was only a matter of when he would take the plunge and cut it all off. Personally I think that even if Bischoff hadn't of fired him, Austin would have gone to the WWF in 1996 when his contract expired. He'd pretty much hit his ceiling in a Hogan run WCW and after 5 years with the company may have felt it was time for a change. If he had stayed the only real role I can see him in (based on what actually happened during that era) is in DDP's spot, as the long time WCW guy who steps up to fight the NWO. That,s also pretty much the same role I think Dustin would have been in if he'd stayed too. I think Austin was more likely to join the NWO, not fight against it. He was already billed from Hollywood and done the Blondes gimmick, so putting him alongside Hogan (which was the goofy gimmick he proposed apparently when Hogan first arrived) makes more sense. I could see him in the Bagwell role as the longtime WCW guy that jumped sides as opposed to the DDP role. There was really no babyface quality to Austin ever in WCW. It's kind of odd looking back that despite five different bookers in five years or so, not one guy ever turned him babyface or even hinted at it. Then again WWF didn't view him as a babyface either for quite some time, they didn't even think he was worth having speak for himself lol.

Wrestling Doesn't Pay... Except when it does

Very well could be. Barry Darsow said when Bischoff called him he had good news and bad news. The good news is he loved the match, the bad news is he had to fire him. But he told him to lay low and he'd bring him back in due time. Darsow wasn't really sure if he should believe him since it is wrestling afterall, but sure enough he got a contract offer later for very good money to take care of things. -

Bischoff has talked about the Lanny deal several times recently in interviews. When Savage re-negotiated his contract, he took less money to get Lanny a deal, that way Lanny got paid and had insurance covered. Lanny has mentioned it recently as well when talking about how lucky he was to have a big brother that looked out for him. So in the end WCW never spent a penny more than they were going to anyway. -

No one else found this funny? Come onwell played Johnny, well played! I think most people who were aware of DC Drake were trying to remember if HE was still alive, and were too lazy to Google it. DC Drake is still alive BTW. I cant remember, was it DC Drake or Johnny Hotbody that Winters won a Falls Count Anywhere match against by picking him up in a bodyslam and pinning his shoulders against a wall? Thats a finish I dont think has been attempted since. I want to say Big Show pinned Essa Rios or someone like that during a hardcore title 24/7 match. -

Not sure on PPV, but I noticed everyone from Clash of the Champions 28 is still alive. Nasty Boys, Orndorff, Roma, Inoki, Regal, Dusty, Dustin, Funk, Bunkhouse Buck, Steamboat, Austin, Hogan, and Flair. It's a shorter card, but it's got five guys at 65+, Bunkhouse, 64, and Hogan and Steamboat, 61. Some have had health battles and scares, but that's pretty damn good! -
I don't really think they will add Cena to the main, I think the Rusev Fast Lane match is probably inconclusive and they rematch at WM. But I can't see them failing to finish the Cena-Lesnar story either especially with the push for the "Final Battle" just a couple weeks ago. Plus, Cena didn't get pinned in the three way last night. But again, Lesnar's contract status will probably play a role. I just don't seeing them let him leave for MMA again without putting over Cena in some fashion. Bringing up Batista is interesting in a bigger picture way. Do you think Vince regrets the Bryan push last year that resulted in him being gone within a couple months and basically wasting everything they put into him when the fans "demanded" it? The neck issues weren't something brand new, it was a risky move even then. Compare that to Batista who ended up exploding in Hollywood afterwards even more than anticipated (certainly a hotter property than the Rock at the moment) but because they didn't follow through with their original plan, you've probably alienated him from ever coming back and latching on to whatever success he has the next couple years? If they didn't listen to the fans last year, which blew up in their face, they wouldn't have put themselves in that situation. I bet it drives them nuts that they changed their plans now and they aren't going budge this time around.

If Brock is leaving after WM, I'm guessing you put Cena over Rusev (although even that doesn't have to be by pin or submission) to build him to a triple threat with Brock and Reigns at WM. They aren't going to ignore that "final battle" deal they hyped for a week before adding Rollins last month, and Cena has to go over Lesnar to end the story or the whole story is wasted. Plus he gets title win #16 at WM. Now if Brock re-signs all bets are off. That also leave Rusev vs. Bryan at WM for the US title.
