  1. It probably wouldn't hurt MLB to include some players not of color as speakers in the video packages they use in the stadiums every year on Jackie Robinson day, but they only include African-Americans from around the league, and they've been doing it for 20 years now. Don't see it changing anytime soon.
  2. Based on is comedy tour stories, I don't get the impression he thought much of Rude.
  3. I agree that Malenko was a case of perfect timing. Brady Boone is a guy that would've been pushed harder had he made it to the Cruiserweight era, and he was built to go along with it, kind of like Neville.
  4. If Rollins is out, my fantasy booking idea is to see HHH/Samoa Joe vs. Shane McMahon/Kurt Angle. Set up the Shane-HHH feud with Joe and have Shane promise to bring in someone who knows them both very well. Kurt has history with all three guys, Joe stays heel for now, HHH and Shane makes sense already. Rollins can help cost someone the match to keep his feud ready for his return if necessary. None of the four have to go too crazy with anything dangerous but all can have their spots in there to pop the crowd.
  5. The 2000 era after Duggan found the TV belt in the trash was pretty fun. Faced off with Robert Gibson, Steven Regal (who I believe put his career up since he was ready to go back to the WWFafter getting clean), and Fidel Sierra in title matches. Then when Russo stripped all the belts, the TV title just disappeared altogether. It was also fun to see all the Natural Born Thrillers in 1999 before they hit Nitro the next year.
  6. This. I didn't see Garvin until he was in the WWF, but enjoyed his feud with Valentine. Liked him as a grizzled veteran even though he almost always lost, so was surprised to learn he'd been NWA champ just a few years earlier. So I never hated him, but now he's in my top 10-15 favorites list and I certainly wouldn't have anticipated that when he was running around as a referee in the WWF. Knowing the history with Savage, I'm kind of disappointed that they never wrestled in the WWF except being on opposite teams at the 1989 Survivor Series.
  7. Maybe we finally get Angle and Undertaker at WM after they both wanted it years ago. Angle would be safe enough for Undertaker even if he may be too risky for himself.
  8. Shane is a good pick. If Lesnar was a better speaker and they didn't try to keep his aura about him, he'd be a good pick also. Or Edge, if Christian isn't going in.
  9. Well they did Sting last year and Angle this year, if they continue to induct the TNA Hall of Famers, the Dudley Boyz should be next year!
  10. Too bad Dusty passed away, he would've been great inducting DDP. But Jake is a fine choice if they go that route.
  11. I think that was when Christian got announced from Florida since they were in Toronto. Then he threw a temper tantrum when he didn't get the pin and ate a Diamond Cutter for the win. That match and the ECW Originals win at WM23 are a couple of my feel good moments at Wrestlemania that weren't major matches, but fun to mark out for nonetheless as a "thank you" win for what they'd done in their careers. Randy Savage over Crush was another like that, although Savage had a lot of career left it turned out.
  12. Would love to see Earthquake get in, and Tugboat getting in too is fine also. I heard an interview with Tugboat where they asked him about the HOF and he thought it'd be cool to go in with his good friend, but he'd even be honored just to induct Earthquake if they chose that route instead. Pretty classy answer I thought.
  13. Russo was definitely a big Daniels fan, so it's not completely unthinkable. On the other hand Daniels has never mentioned it before to my knowledge and you'd think it would've come out, at least if he ever knew himself that it had been discussed.
  14. Hugo took a chair shot and bladed at a Wrestlemania as an announcer, that's enough to get my vote for any Hall of Fame!
  15. Savage's last matches as a WCW wrestler were against Rick Steiner in New Japan (Goldberg was hurt after his limo arm injury so Savage was called to fill in, and he put over Steiner) and a house show against Sid in January 2000. He was brought back for his one off appearance on Thunder a few months later but pretty sure he was no longer under contract at that point.
  16. I honestly thought we'd see Reigns vs Goldberg at WM after Survivor Series but if they are doing Lesnar-Goldberg III that won't happen. Could be a three way match where Reigns beats them both. But I only think that because Reigns was a guy Goldberg had mentioned in previous interviews about wanting to work with if he came back based on their similar backgrounds and Georgia vs Georgia Tech rivalry. I only want to see HHH-Rollins to get it over with and I don't like either guy anyway so they don't take two matches. I could maybe see Shane vs Miz if only since Bryan can't wrestle and that angle has to pay off sometime as well. Taker vs Strowman might be a possibility too if they do AJ-Cena. Definitely a lot of moving parts this year so the card is not as predictable four months out. And who knows if the Rock will wrestle again this year.
  17. Agreed, and if you wanted just a Tommy Rich type reign you could give it to JYD instead.
  18. Pig's blood and Vodka were the supposed ingredients. I don't think I'd need the addition of the knee drop to make me throw up lol!
  19. Reed was good also, Simmons was the worst of the bunch, but I still didn't like that they had white tennis shoes and sweatpants instead of their real gear. Couldn't even hazard a guess as to why they chose to do that.
  20. Anybody else prefer the Galoob WCW guys to the Hasbro's, at least for playability? The ring was pretty cool with the cage, a spring loaded turnbuckle and a catapult for jumping off the one corner. Plus the hammer for the ringbell made a nice weapon. And thankfully each wrestler came with a belt because WCW had a lot of titles in 1991! The Hasbro ring was pretty great too though. Never seen an LJN ring or Remco ring in person yet. Windham, Arn, Zenk and Pillman were my favorites for actually playing with. I also used GI Joes a lot, but usually as just real wrestlers. My brother and I would take turns booking the WWF or NWA/WCW so we could have competing companies. I pretty much only booked PPVs and Clashes/SNMEs since I never thought to use job guys. Come to think of it without many enhancement guys it was like Monday Night Wars booking seven years early. "Outback" was Hogan, "Lifticket" was Piper, "Croc Master" was Warrior, etc and of course Sgt Slaughter was himself. Dibiase was the dress blues version of Gung Ho since it was closest to a suit. I remember the RnR Express being my world tag champs and Southern Boys being my US champs, I think I gave Michael Wallstreet and Terry Taylor a TV title feud. Wish I could remember more of it now. Might have made Arn the WCW champ splitting with Flair, as I loved using him to hit the spinebuster. Also putting on submissions was fun, sacrificed a lot of broken knees and crotches in the process..
  21. Count me as a fan of Goldberg winning, and if he was going to win anyway booking it like prime 1998 Goldberg with a personal chip on his shoulder over Heyman mocking his family was an awesomely explosive way to do it! And I do think this was Brock's punishment for embarrassing the company by failing the drug test in UFC. But it was fun to mark out again, if even for two minutes. No chance for the crowd to turn on Bill, no chance to blow any real spots, and a satisfying conclusion where the good guy beats the villain.
  22. There wasn't any, that's just a myth. They didn't even do the post-Starrcade (and actually a couple weeks pre-Starrcade) Disney tapings until November 12th, two weeks after the stabbing incident.
  23. They do have some extra post-airing stuff on the 1998 RAWs. For instance I watched the episode with the Austin/Undertaker vs Kane/Mankind Hell in a Cell match and there was actually a finish after RAW went off the air, I think it was Austin pinning Foley. Kind of like showing the finish to the Harts-Strike Force match from the Hogan-Andre Main Event show that didn't air previously. Those kind of things are pretty cool to see even if they don't really matter all that much to the average fan watching. The preshows for the PPVs would be a nice addition at some point in time, but still a lot more TV stuff I'd prioritize before that.
  24. Watching Survivor Series 1988, and while all the "WWFs" are back in tact, someone forgot to unblur the WWF writing on the back of Koko's trunks.
  25. Continue watching hasn't been working for me either. Started Clash VIII before bed for two matches, then woke up and had to fast forward to the spot. It's the first time I've ever noticed a problem though.
