  1. Gang probably has better matches, but Bundy just has more star quality to him. Maybe it's the bald head and better promos, but if I need to pick one to draw me money, it's Bundy. And I feel Gang needed a manager to be in a top role, I think Bundy could do it on his own if necessary. I also think had Bundy turned babyface in the WWF, he'd have gotten over really well, again because of his promos. Him vs. Big John Studd would've been a fun split.
  2. RIP The Fantastics were one of my favorite babyface teams ever. Loved their feud with the Midnight Express.
  3. I think they got as much out of Rusev as they could've hoped. Long US title reign given his gimmick and a WM match with your top star. Maybe if they had two world titles you could expect more (or less since it was so watered down his real run was more impressive). Anything from now on is gravy, but seems like he'll be a focal point for quite awhile if Lana is going to be.
  4. Retirement sounds like something one chooses to do on their own, but "career ending" sounds more like you are being forced into it against your will.
  5. I think almost killing a dude with a pair of scissors is worse than saying offensive shit. You know Arn stabbed him first, right? Sid just defended himself from a pretty cowardly attack (and I'm a fan of Arn the performer) Vader claims to have pretty much saved Sid's life in the immediate aftermath. And Sid was the one that was originally set to press charges on Arn. That said, I'll go with Warrior. Watching all of the old SNME through 1991, and other than a squash of the Super Ninja and a really poor match with Haku, Warrior has been largely decent against everyone, including Honky Tonk and Andre. I thought Warrior-Andre was better than Savage-Andre.
  6. No apology needed, I didn't know Tully had any singles matches other than Warrior either so learned something else new!
  7. That is wrong. When Tully was injured/Susupended Arn had singles matches against one of the Bushwackers on the house shows Tully couldn't attend. Certainly possible, but I can't find any singles results during the time they feuded with the Bushwhackers. Once Tully was fired in late 1989, he teamed with Haku and even Akeem once as fill ins but all still tag matches. I saw it at the Houston Summit. Does June 10, 1989 sound right? Was Hogan vs. Savage the main event? It's right in the middle of their Bushwhacker run, but doesn't have any results listed, just the the scheduled main event. The teams wrestled the day before and after, but are listed for a Toledo show that same day also without a result. Maybe something happened to Tully in the early shot?

  9. Arn didn't have a WWF singles match during his entire run to the best of my knowledge so consider me very skeptical that he had one, did a great carry job, and then was never given another.
  10. DDP first tried wrestling in like 1979 though, but only had a few matches. Then he took several years off in the night club business before getting back in with managing and commentating. Then he tried working again and took off.
  11. Have you ever seen Kirk Gibson's 1988 World Series at bat? Guy looked helpless at the plate but he got around on one pitch that was all arms, and limped his way around the bases. The difference is in most real sports you DON'T want to sell because it gives the other side an advantage. But if they already know, like Randy Moss in the famous "mooning" game against the Packers, you may just be able to sell it enough to your own advantage. Moss had a bad hamstring and baited the corner into beating him for a TD.
  12. It wasn't one bad moment though when he had domestic issues with his next girlfriend, Tess Broussard, also. Now she does sound crazy and maybe he likes them that way, but probably shouldn't have put himself into that position again less than two years after the Debra incident. Makes him look really bad even if it was blown out of proportion.
  13. Stallone and Funk are friends, I think Sly even mentioned him in his HOF induction speech for Hogan. And Terry is also in Over the Top.
  14. Yeah I'm sure in 1984 when they were trying to find Drago they were all about hitting up some junior heavyweight nobody in Calgary for the role. Rocky IV came out four months before the Bulldogs even won the belts at WM2. Kerry is at least believable being pushed hard already by 1984.
  15. perry saturn was in same class as Paul. The Renegade trained there with Saturn also. I think on Tough Enough, Chris Nowinski mentions getting trained by Kowalski (and ripped for it by whichever trainer it was). And wasn't Chyna also a Kowalski student?
  16. Was it just VHS space issues? I remember in the late 1990's when WWE went back and released full versions of older WrestleManias on VHS, the quality was horrible. Bill Watts addressed it once, as it was something he fought during his WCW tenure and tried to have changed. THE felt that rentals would be a hard sell for a three-hour tape. Watts of course made the obvious counter, that three-hour videos had not hurt the WWF in the rental market at all. They made the switch sometime in 1993, but I'm not sure exactly when. As late as Beach Blast '93, they were still two hours, and as early as I believe Starrcade '93, they were unedited. So I guess somewhere in that window. Then there's not releasing SuperBrawl IV commercially for who knows what reason. Actually, though i havent seen them, i've heard that Halloween Havoc 98 and Souled Out 99 also have matches edited out of the tape. Halloween Havoc '98 does have a couple matches chopped. Finlay-Wright and Wrath-Meng IIRC, maybe a third match. May have had to do with the event being 3 and half hours. Don't remember Souled Out having edits, but could be right.
  17. I love battle royals also. I DON'T love when the guy gets "forgotten" outside and comes back in when it's over to win it when the other guy thinks he won. And WWE uses that one every other time they have a battle royal and now Royal Rumble (Santino and Rusev, but both at least lost).
  18. When did Rock switch agencies and go with his ex-wife instead? She's the one that told him he needed to go back to the WWE and get his name and fan base back if he wanted to save his Hollywood career. She was obviously a smart lady!
  19. Would've loved to see the WCW-NBC specials in 1999 if the NBA strike wouldn't have been settled. Possible Hogan-Goldberg rematch, Savage's return, Piper-Raven (this was definitely planned), and Dennis Rodman-Carmen Electra getting divorced on national TV on Valentine's Day. Would've gotten a ton of press and probably big ratings. A bunch of angles that were stalled or dropped when that fell through. Also the Bret Hart-Kevin Nash match on Jay Leno that was supposed to happen the night after Owen passed away.
  20. For celebrity I could see Mark Cuban also being it's in Dallas. He's been involved several times over the last ten years.
  21. Dick Murdoch, inducted by Dusty Rhodes Ken Patera popped up in the Hogan-Piper Rivalries episode on the Network. Have Mark Henry or Flair induct him. Neither guy is going to be a headliner, but both are good midcard spots from a HOF show perspective like Rikishi or Zbyszko.
  22. I haven't heard Lanny confirm it, although he does speak kindly of Hulk. Warrior called bull shit of it when he did that massive shoot YouTube video on Hogan (the trailer for which was far better than the actual thing). Dave Meltzer has mentioned that people that were close to Savage believe the story to be true. He said that Hogan had told people in TNA about him and Savage laying their problems to rest before Savage even died. Hulk talked about them meeting in the hospital on his Hogan and Friends speaking tour which was several months before Randy passed away. And Jay Lethal said at one point they were talking about Savage making a TNA cameo during the Black Machismo deal, which I think he said included a phone call with Savage or at least he'd been told Savage enjoyed the gimmick. I'd imagine they'd have never gotten that far if they weren't back on good terms.
  23. I always presumed Mysterio was legit hurt. Didn't he hit a plancha and land his knees on the (wooden i think) steps? Need to watch this event again. One of my favorites, but crammed in about 15 short matches into one night.
  24. They actually announced the York Foundation would be adding a new member at Clash 14, while Wallstreet was still being announced as facing Tim Horner on the same show. Wallstreet is even in the opening graphic for the show, however he isn't actually mentioned during it or during Taylor's announcement since he was gone. But I don't think it was intended for one guy to replace the other on purpose. I think Taylor was turning regardless.
  25. Larry talked about it in his Timeline DVD.
