  1. LOL. I know you're considered one of the stupider folks on this board, but whatever. I think I'm burned out on this board and wrestling in general. This place has turned into DVDVR 2.0 lately with the non-stop complaining and awful topics: http://prowrestlingonly.com/index.php?/topic/31761-self-congratulatory-charity-work-in-wwe/ What the fuck? "But are most other big companies as obvious about their self-interested philanthropy?" That's being stuck in the wrestling bubble on a Meltzer-esque level if you seriously have to ask that. Faggots.
  2. Part of the problem is that the general audience wasn't pushing for longer or even better Diva matches. Taking it slowly would be the best option, but fans online and offline are impatient these days and I don't blame the company for not wanting to take the time to re-train the audience on an unproven concept. Also, I love the downfall of Bri Bella. Last year's Summerslam had her wrestling the company's top heel in a singles match and roughly a year later is the designated jobber for her stable that includes Alicia Fox.
  3. Holy crap, Vince posts on PWO! He's right though. When Charlotte lost that NXT exhibition match on RAW, people were crying about how they ruined her? Not a single person remembers or cares about that now. (And before anyone says it, just because you remember it doesn't mean jack shit.)
  4. You realize NXT is a part of the company, right?
  5. Charlotte's finishers. A submission move that makes no sense and Curt Hennig's neck snap.
  6. Hunter protege. He's probably going to lose to Cena and take a DQ against Sting.
  7. They should have kept the earnest positivity instead of acting like goofballs. Going over the top is funny and all, but it's making the crowd cheer for them.
  8. It's a shame. New Day failed as babyfaces and as heels.
  9. Now...if he could figure out how to actually draw, he'd be the complete package.
  10. He was getting 'Goldberg' chants until he lost to Punk at HIAC. The crowd started warming up to him after that until his heel turn.
  11. They could always bring in Jessicka Havok as a heel to feud with the black divas.
  12. The only match you hear extensively praised is that Natalya match. Not much after that. And LOL at "but to say it's pure nepotism is bollocks." Being signed at 27 with absolutely no wrestling background aside from her family name, pushed to the top of their development program not a year after debuting and debuting on the main roster after two years. She doesn't suck, but anyone else would be stuck in developmental for 2 more years.
  13. That sucks.
  14. But you can't (allegedly) get into the WON HoF on work alone. And it's still entirely possible to judge draws.
  15. Implied rape! Hilarious! I wonder if Rhett is secretly planning the murder of Kenny King.
  16. Emma allegedly wasn't supposed to win that match. Something knocked Becky a little loopy and she forgot to kick out. Carmella, Dana and Eva are pretty much from the school of Laurinaitis hiring models from catalogues. All have a year or less of actual experience. Becky's great and Emma can be good at times. She's better as a heel than goofy babyface. Charlotte's initial signing was pure nepotism. She had no experience beforehand and is older* than the girls they usually sign. She's certainly decent enough to be carried, but without her name I don't think she'd still be on the roster. She's plateaued as far as getting better and is still fairly sloppy. Meltzer used to be a big fan of hers, but even he's cooled off on the praise. *She's not actually old at all as far as most standards go, but here's an example: Charlotte just debuted on the main roster at the age of 29. Trish and Lita both retired at the age of 31 after having 6 year long careers in the WWE.
  17. My guess is that the answer here is no, but it doesn't necessarily mean Sasha's going to have a great match on Raw next Monday on the fly either. Aye. The point isn't that pre-planned matches are bad, but that some of the girls aren't prepared to do things if something goes wrong. That tag match where Naomi won when she wasn't originally booked to is an example where they seemed completely baffled as what to do next after someone messed up. Hopefully she can (and I think she will) adapt, but if Sasha suddenly stops performing at the level she currently is in NXT, I don't think people should automatically or solely blame the company.
  18. I think adding Charlotte to non-wrestling role would be a better fit than active wrestler, but I agree in general with this post. She's a great example of Dave's point about the NXT women's matches being super rehearsed. Every time she's given the spotlight on the main roster, she's fumbled rather badly. That's so sad when you think about it. Baffling that people complain about Nikki who is perfectly fine in ring while praising Alicia who just recently almost killed that Tough Enough chick with a side slam.
  19. The hell? Aside from the first Hunter match, he's won every match with it.
  20. You were talking about the main events in your post and I was addressing that. Of course they beat jobbers, but the idea that the string of lame finishes in main events is something new when it dates back to the 70s at the very least is something I see more than I should. Also, Savage, Flair and Yokozuna all had managers or valets that interfered. Undertaker and Triple H clean wins were usually against mid carders and you're overstating the amount of non-title jobs Seth has done. http://www.onlineworldofwrestling.com/bios/s/seth-rollins/ One vs Ambrose, another vs Cena and that handicap match (which was a really stupid idea.)
  21. Anyone else notice this is how the company has ALWAYS BOOKED HEEL CHAMPIONS. Unless you're a rare monster heel like Brock was, heel champions almost never have clean wins. How many clean wins did Superstar Graham have? Randy Savage? Ric Flair? Even Yokozuna had a bunch of fuck finishes. The next long term heel champions didn't pop up until the Attitude era which was full of screw jobs and interference. Big Evil Undertaker was a fairly dominant champion when put against midcarders, but his title defenses usually had a fair of interference. Hunter was the long term heel champion for RAW and how many of his defenses came down to sledgehammer/Flair/Evolution->Pedigree? When in the past 20 years has there been a sustained heel champion run that wasn't full of interference, cheap wins and DQ/count-outs?
  22. Johnny Ace's career is the kind you have to "get." If you can't...figure it out!
  23. <lolwut_pear.jpg>
  24. I wonder if they're going to pull a Jarrett/D'lo. [mid-card heel] interferes and helps Seth win. Seth then bestows US title to [mid-card heel] and Cena can go back to chasing it.
  25. Nope. The entire match was being shit on when they realized Bryan wasn't coming out and Batista was going to win. Reigns just happened to be the last guy in and their last hope at seeing Batista lose. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x1ahvy0_royal-rumble-match-2014_sport
