  1. I don't think Raw Talk is weekly, I think it is also only after PPVs. I really like Talking Smack, and I am hoping that instead of replacing it with old ppvs, they replace it with a new weekly talk show, maybe one where Renee talks to guys from both brands plus NXT about ongoing current storylines. Then it wouldn't have to be live, it could be pretaped to save money. Did you guys watch 205 Live this week? I really liked the I Quit Match between Noam Dar and Cedric Alexander.
  2. I watched part of the G1 in the USA special last night on Fight Network in Canada because my cable company is having a free preview of Fight Network right now. JR said they were going to tape Night 2 tonight, and then said it would air on AXS on Friday, but I checked the guide on my TV for Friday and don't see they are showing then, and they didn't mention when Fight Network will air it, so I wonder if it will air at all on Fight Network.

I really liked Natalya as the valet for when Cesaro and Tyson Kidd were a tag team.
  4. I enjoyed the show actually. I thought it was better than Extreme Rules from a few weeks ago. I loved the Usos/New Day up until the finish. I thought the main event was really fun. I like seeing Orton beat up the Singh brothers. I was glad to see them doing something with Ellsworth again. And I was impressed by Lana, I was expecting a lot less from her and enjoyed that match as well.
  5. Could the issue with the Coliseum video be that Coliseum was actually owned by another company, Evart Enterprises, and thats the company that gets the Youtube stuff pulled down, not WWE? http://www.imdb.com/company/co0053857/
  6. I feel like the 60's-70's and most of the eighties would be defined by the babyface champion of the time. So it would be 1st Sammartino Era, Pedro Morales Era, 2nd Sammartino Era, Backlund Era, and 1st Hogan. The Superstar Billy Graham reign is longer than the other transitional heel reigns, but I am assuming it could probably be rolled into either the 2nd Sammartino era or the Backlund Era. I would have to watch more from that period to be sure. Hogan lost the belt at the rematch with Andre the Giant on The Main Event televised in prime time on network television in February 1988, and I believe it had ridiculously high ratings at the time, so it can be seen as a kind of climax to the original Rock & Wrestling time frame and an obvious transition point to whatever came after. Another transition point to me that seems pretty obvious is the debut of Monday Night Raw in January of 1993, in which the product feels completely different to me from what came before, even though Hogan still came back, he was not the same Hogan in 93. And even though Bret was already champion, Bret seemed to me at the time to be more like a transitionary upper midcarder temporarily holding the belt, rather than the top guy he became in 94. So basically, The Main Event February 1988 up to the debut of Monday Night Raw January 1993 feels like a seperate "era" from the first Hogan title reign. I don't really have a good name for this era, although it seems to be similar to JvK's "cartoony" early 90's era even though mine starts a couple years earlier. I'd say rewatch some random Superstars from 88-89, and see if they feel more like the episodes from 90-91 to you or the episodes from 86-87.
  7. Hopefully you come back with some crazy stories of wild goings on together whenever a new episode comes out.
  8. I just wanna say I really love these podcasts and I appreciate the work you guys put in them.

Interesting point about The Miz, I feel as if the IC Belt has really become devalued since Miz lost it. I don't think it means much for Dean Ambrose to hold it at this point, and feel like if they don't want to give it to Miz right now, maybe Luke Harper or Dolph Ziggler would be better off with it.
  10. I really like this one too so I'm glad to hear it's returning eventually.
  11. I didn't mind the finish to the Smackdown battle royal. Usually wrestling logic says it doesn't matter what the fans actually see, it only matters what the referee claims he did or did not see.
  12. I really like the new name. With Titans ending this may become my new favorite podcast on the pwo feed.
  13. I actually like Enzo. He is a different character than I am used to seeing lately, and it is interesting how they book him and Big Cass as babyfaces when it seems like they should obviously be heels. I find their whole persona thing a lot of fun and I enjoy the crowd reactions they get. Maybe they should be moved to Smackdown to try to make the tag scene more interesting there.
  14. I don't think the current tag team scene on Smackdown is really helping anybody. I don't see why they need to do this tag team turmoil thing at elimination chamber. I think over all it would be more meaningful to have one heel team challenge American Alpha, and just have a couple weeks of promos and run ins leading up to it. The problem with having 6 teams in one match is that when it's over you end up with 5 losers, and most of these teams already seem like losers.

I am surprised they are still putting so much focus on James Ellsworth. I don't think he is that good. His kick to Styles in the ladder match a week ago looked weird to me, and tonight whenever Styles would knock him over it looked like as he fell he was awkwardly moving into the position he wanted his body to land in. Like at one point it looked like he was going to land on a chair, so he moved the chair out of the way as he was falling so he wouldn't end up lying on it. And then when Styles knocked him out of the ring it looked like he was awkwardly lowering himself through the ropes to the floor. During the replay a moment later it looked like they were focusing more on AJ than Ellsworth, so I wonder if somebody in the truck also thought it looked weird. That Styles Clash off the steel ring steps to the floor looked pretty brutal though. I wonder if jumping off things with the Syles Clash is something he usually does. I haven't seen a lot of AJ Styles matches, but It seems like it would be a dangerous move. I am surprised they spent so much time after showing the stretcher and ambulance. Its like they really expect us to get behind Ellsworth as an underdog, but I still see him as basically a joke. I didn't have the volume up very loud, but I don't think the crowd was really getting behind him all that much either.
  16. I love this episode. Please do more. Also I checked it out and the Slammy Awards were from Baltimore, so that's how JYD could be on both shows : http://wrestlingclassics.com/cgi-bin/.ubbcgi/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=1;t=123988;p=0

I really am liking this new angry Bo Dallas. It made his match with Neville a lot more enjoyable than it otherwise would have been, and I am happy that he won actually. Also it only went one segment which in the current WWE environment I feel can actually be a plus. Both the Jericho/Rollins match and the Big E/Sheamus match went two segments, and I don't feel either match really needed it. Especially not the Big E/Sheamus match as that one was essentially setting up a storyline about Facebook, and the match just felt like it was wasting time up until the finish.
  18. I dont usually answer these, but I bought the WWE Razor Ramon DVD recently, and am still working my way through it, but it cause me to already consider a fantasy booking scenario for 93 WWF that is still fresh in my head, so here goes: Razor Ramon and Yokozuna switch spots a bit for this one, so Bret beats Yokozuna at the Royal Rumble, then Razor beats Bret at the main event of Wrestlemania IX. Hogan comes out as he did for Yokozuna, but Mr. Fuji is not there to ruin things, so Razor just cuts a promo from the ring. He talks about how the world is his and how he takes what he wants and how Hogan is old and washed up. He challenges Hulk but not right there that night, rather he makes Hogan wait for King of the Ring. Razor beats Hogan at King of the Ring, and instead of the photographer with the flash bulb, Razor uses some kind of foreign object like a steel chair to win. Post match he continues to beat on Hogan with the foreign object leading to some career ending injury angle. Razor is the one who body slams Yokozuna on the battleship through some kind of foreign object cheating causing Yokozuna to turn babyface. Lex Luger is outraged, cuts a promo on tv about how somebody has to stop that bad guy. He gets into his tour bus called The Lex Express and goes around the country getting support for him challenging Razor. Summerslam this time however does not end in a count out, it ends in Razor visciously beating Lex in the middle of the ring again probably involving some kind of cheating. At Survivor Series it is Razor Ramon and his knights challenging the Hart Family, but this time things are again slightly reversed, and Bret, Bruce, and Keith Hart are actually all eliminated, while The Rocket Owen Hart has to fight valiantly all by himself against the odds against Razor's full team. Miraculously, Owen manages to eliminate all the other heels except for Razor, and they square off in the ring. It gets bloody, they end up brawling on the outside, until Razor hits the Razor's Edge on Owen on the announce table. However, Razor has been seriously hurt as well, and both men lay outside the ring while the ref counts. Both men slowly make it to the apron, then at the last moment Owen has a rush of adrenaline and barely makes it into the ring before the ref ends his count. At the same time Razor, selling his injury, loses his balance and falls off the apron before he can make it through the ropes. Owen collapses as soon as he is in the ring, but he beat the ref's count and is awarded the victory. The crowd goes crazy and applauds, and the announces wonder if this means Owen should earn a title shot, and if so, when. Anyway, I know this is only for 93, but basically this storyline will end at Wrestlemania X, but this time with Owen beating Razor in the main event which is also a ladder match. I know I only talked about the world title here, so lets just say that Ted Dibiase and Mike Rotunda held the tag titles the whole year and successfully defended them at each PPV. And lets say that instead of facing Giant Gonzales, Undertaker challenges for the Intercontinental belt this year, wins it, and then feuds with Shawn Michaels over it. Bret can still win King of the Ring.
  19. Man I just finished listening to the last one from the Spectrum in 87 and want to say these are great. I really enjoy them. Keep it up dudes.
  20. The outdoor setting for this match reminded me of the Inoki island death match, except that was long and boring, and this was short and insane. I did like seeing Willow show up all of a sudden out of the water, only to have Matt accidentally pinning the old guy because he didn't know who was behind the mask. This was fun but didn't make much sense.
  21. I just wanted to bump this thread, not because of any particular great insight into the match reviewing process, but just to say that my favorite play by play match reviewer to read right now is Superstar Sleeze. He has posted a lot of match reviews on the board here recently, and for some reason I find them very entertaining to read, without him having to resort to too many jokes or gimmicks. I am not a professional writer at all, but I find where a lot of people just have a list of what wrestling moves were used in which order, I feel like Sleeze is framing the action like a story, or a comic book, and its just easier to picture the match in my head, especially for ones I haven't seen.
  22. I really enjoyed this podcast, and the audio commentary from the actual fight. Really great work guys. I can't wait for whatever is coming next from Titans.
  23. I ordered the Network tonight to have it in time for Wrestlemania for the first time. I should say it is a good cheap way to watch a payperview, but that seems like the only reason for it. Maybe it is because of where I live in Canada or who my TV service provider is, but there is no on demand content and no way to view on demand programming on the website as my provider is not listed. So there is only the live feed, which besides the PPVs and specials, the only actual wrestling programming seems to be NXT and I guess Superstars. The rest seems to be WWE's crap reality and informational programming that I avoid already on the regular tv. Very disappointing.
  24. I know I don't really make too many posts here, but I really respect this board, and I just wanted to say that you are in my prayers, and if you need somebody to talk to about wrestling or whatever, or even just to listen, feel free to message me on here.
