LOL! I love how RPG perked up when Bert was talking about Thanksgiving food. Hmmmm, I'm also curious on why the Nightmares snubbed the Renestos. I do think this is the perfect place for the Nightmares. Champ Michaels looks good but he's got a variety of opponents vying for a shot. DJ's pissed and I think there's a gimmick match coming soon. Nightmares start and end the show on a high note.

I agree with Kev. This has been very informative and has helped me get a better understanding of the UWF. I'm looking forward to Backlund and the Russians coming in. Maeda is really putting something special together.

AWA @ The Met Center, Bloomington MN 11-25-88 Tag Team Tournament-Winners get an AWA World Tag Team Title shot at SuperClash 3 First Round The Fantastics vs. The Glamour Boys Lanny Poffo is booked elsewhere tonight. The night starts with a bang as the Fantastics and Glamour Boys put on a tag team masterpiece. Both teams take turns showing off incredible teamwork. The match is fast paced and exciting. It's a see saw roller coaster ride that keeps the fans on the edge of their seats. The announcer informs the fans, there's only one minute left. As the clock ticks, both teams end up in a pier six brawl. With 10 seconds left, Doll swings Rogers into the turnbuckles, but Rogers hops on the turnbuckles and comes back with a reverse press on Doll 1..2..3! Fantastics win with just one second left! Winners of the match- The Fantastics Venomous vs. Gama and Tiger Jeet Singh Former National champs Venomous want another chance at some gold. However, recently the Singhs have targeted them and vow Venomous will not advance. Venomous use their speed and quickness while the Singhs break every rule in the book. Venomous impress the crowd with their high octane offense. The Singhs get the heat with their brutal and vicious style. Venomous have things going their way as Kat goes to the top rope, but Gama (from the apron) runs over and pushes Kat off. Cobra runs in but the Ref guides him back. This allows the Singhs to hit a double rib breaker on Kat. Tiger covers as the Ref runs over and counts 1..2..3! Winners of the match- The Singhs The Bruisers vs. The Mean Machine Dream Machine is booked elsewhere tonight. Mike Miller and Rip Oliver recently joined forces and aligned with Dream Machine. For some reason they had a problem with the Bruisers and attacked them. Bruisers said they're going to get payback tonight. This one is hard hitting and stiff from the start. Both teams beat the hell out of each other while the Ref has a difficult job keeping order. As the match goes on, things get more out of control. Finally, the Ref has no choice but to disqualify both teams. The bell keeps ringing but the fists keep flying. Official Ruling- A double disqualification The Rose Cousins vs. The Wild Ones Yet another grudge match in the opening round. These teams have been battling all over the loop and recently the Rose's scored a televised win over the Rich's. The Rich's weren't going to forget. The fans get a good old fashion southern fight. These teams are so evenly matched as the match goes back and forth. Both teams fight but also show off some impressive tag team skills. Things get hard hitting as both Randy Rose and Davey Rich get color. While Pat is working over Johnny, Davey runs in but gets dropkicked back to his corner by Randy. Davey pulls out a pair of brass knuckles. As Pat hoists Johnny up for a suplex, Davey runs over and nails Pat on the back of his head. Johnny falls on top as the Ref runs over and counts 1..2..3! Due to the earlier double DQ, the Wild Ones advance to the finals. Winners of the Match- The Wild Ones Semi-Finals The Fantastics vs. Gama and Tiger Jeet Singh Another contrast of styles match up. The Fantastics put their experience, speed and quickness to good use as they control the opening minutes. The Singhs turn things around, when Tiger (from the apron) nails Fulton with a knee to the back. The Singhs take turns battering and pummeling Fulton. Fulton stays alive and manages to finally tag in Rogers. Rogers cleans house for awhile but the Singhs come back with a vengeance and work Rogers over pretty bad. Rogers somehow survives and finally tags in Fulton. Fulton's on fire as he takes it to Gama. On the outside, Tiger gets his sword and gets on the apron. Gama rakes Fulton's eyes and swings him towards Tiger. Tiger has his sword up but Fulton reverses things and swings Gama into Tiger's sword. Tiger falls off the apron as Fulton rolls up Gama 1..2..3! The Fantastics are in the finals. Winners of the match- The Fantasics Intermission During the intermission, the AWA World Tag Team Champs, Hector and Chavo Guererro are announced and will be sitting at the announcer's table for the finals. The Finals The Fantastics vs. The Wild Ones Both teams have been through a lot. Davey Rich's forehead is bandaged up and both Fantastics took quite a beating from the Singhs. The Fantastics start the match with some pep as they have the Wild Ones bouncing all over the ring. After a few minutes, fatigue sets in and the Wild Ones take advantage. Johnny and Davey take turns working over the Fantastics with quick tags and stiff double teaming. They hoist Rogers up and deliver a double suplex but Rogers kicks out. Moments later, the Rich's go for a double clothesline but Rogers ducks, swings back, dropkicks both Rich's, dives over and tags in Fulton. Fulton knocks the Rich's heads together and keeps up the momentum. The Rich's come back and this time work over Fulton. They break a lot of rules, then swing Fulton to the ropes and hit a double hot shot 1..2..NO! Rogers breaks it! The Rich's double team Rogers, but the Ref guides Johnny back. While that is happening Rogers hot shots Davey on the top rope. Johnny runs back in but Fulton back drops him. The Fantastics swing Davey to the ropes and hit a double dropkick 1..2..3!!!! The Winners of the match and tournament- The Fantastics! The Fantastics celebrate. The Guerreros enter the ring. Both teams stare at each other. The Guerreros nod their heads and offer their hands. The Fantastics smile and the teams shake hands. The SuperClash world tag team title match is set.

Survivor Series! Let's do this! Warrior is getting the massive push and shines here. Andre has the respect and gets a feel good moment. I'm sure this was a big thank you from the WWF for all he's done. Great way to start the show. Demolition and the Rockers put on an impressive display. Loved that ending with all the champs holding their belts high. We'll see if this was just a moment or if seeds were planted for something big. Ok, Muta is definitely the MVP of the show! His performance was epic! It is a big pay per view in the 80s, so yes, Hogan must pose. This was a great way to keep the Hogan/Savage heat going. Do another tease at the Rumble and we could see these guys headlining WrestleMania. I do have to mention Herc powerslamming Studd, that was impressive. The action figures brought a lot of life to this show. It looked like a lot of fun putting all this together. Outstanding job!

Anvil says goodbye on a high note. I agree, 1989 will be Azul's year. Eddie and Barr rekindle their feud with fire. But the question is, who is this green villain? Sunshine had a great run in Pacific, sad to see her go. Hahahahaha Backlund was the perfect guy for Spicoli to finally get his long awaited win. That pop must've been unreal. The Hart Foundation walk away together one last time. Bret is going to need some new allies in 89. Vancouver, Stormfront end 88 with a big win over the Malenkos. I see more matches between Hall and Hennig. Another team looking to make a serious run in 89 is the Can Am Express. After a bit of a slump, Rose has really turned things around. Rhodes gets battered but manages to retain. After Battleground, it made total sense for Lee to get a title shot. He came up short but he'll rebound. Kelowna, Regal is another guy I'll be watching next year. Who is this mysterious green man? He seems to be having a good time. Chono's stock is rising. Destruction Crew found out the FOJ can fight fire with fire. Looks like Silver King has earned himself a LHW title shot. Pillman and Finlay end the year on the highest note. Pillman's reign has been incredible. 1989 should be another epic year for PCW.

The Granddaddy of them all, Starrcade! Let's do this. Perez is the German Suplex King! Props to you on that clever finish. Sheepherders get Jones some gold. I loved that finishing sequence. Thanks to that low down Fuller, the Stud Stable win the 6 man titles. This was great heat. Another cool visual finish as Super D takes the Heritage title from the Pitbull. Damn! Wahoo finally ends his war with Lightfoot. This was one of my favorite feuds and the blow off was well done and satisfying. What a match! The Superfly returns! The Horsemen did everything they could but the Road Warriors were just too strong. We have new World tag champs! Debeers and JYD were involved in another epic NWA feud. JYD ends things in a fitting way. You have made JYD a superstar again. After a night of brutal and bloody action, Tully and Garvin end the night with another classic NWA world title match. These guys really delivered and Garvin knocking Tully out with the punch was so satisfying. The pop must've been earth shattering. Awesome ending to an incredible show. Two thumbs up brother!

AWA TV @ The Hammond Center 11-24-88 Highlights from Title Night are shown. Included are the Gunslingers winning the National tag titles. Larry Zbyszko hitting Paul Orndorff with the Mid American title and then putting him down with a swinging neckbreaker on the concrete. Jumbo Tsuruta becoming the number one contender. Buzz Sawyer brutally attacking Carlos Colon with a chain. Nikita Koloff barley escaping the cobra clutch to get a c.o. victory over Sgt. Slaughter. Larry Nelson: Hello everybody and welcome to AWA Major League Wrestling. Title Night is in the books as the road to SuperClash 3 continues. Now, before we get to Superclash in Denver on Saturday December 30th, we've got other crucial stops to make. This weekend at the Met Center will be the big 8 Tag Team tournament. The winners will receive an AWA world tag team title shot against the Guerreros at SuperClash. The first round matches have been announced and boy will you see some heated rivalries going at it. As for tonight, you will see Dave Taylor, Timothy Flowers, DJ Peterson and Lanny Poffo battle in a 4 man gauntlet match with the winner getting a TV title shot at SuperClash. Plenty of big matches tonight, so let's get to the ring. Tatsumi 'The Dragon' Fujinami vs. Joseph Roberts Fujinami is back from a tour of Japan and looks better than ever as he puts on a wrestling clinic before finishing things off with the dragon suplex. Nelson says Tatsumi has a big task ahead as he faces Big Van Vader at SuperClash. Nelson then takes us to a Big Van Vader highlight reel from Japan. Big Van Vader takes on Tatsumi Fujinami at SuperClash 3. Commercial Break 'Thrilling' Tom Brandi vs. Jack Victory w/John Tatum Coast to Coast is coming off a sensational showing against the Guerreros and Victory wants to get them back on the winning track tonight. On the flip side, Brandi has been a real blue chipper and has yet to be pinned in the AWA. Brandi lives up to his thrilling moniker as he spends the opening minutes taking Victory down with dropkicks, arm drags and hip tosses. The tide turns when Tatum (from the outside) trips Brandi, Brandi stumbles forward as Victory hits a snap suplex. Tatum cheers as Victory works Brandi over with slams, elbow drops, knee drops and a variety of rule breaking. Victory goes for a back drop but Brandi kicks him. The fans are up and cheering as Brandi makes a furious comeback. Once again, Tatum kills the momentum with a distraction. Victory works over Brandi with punches and stomps. Brandi starts to fight back. Tatum hops on the apron. Victory rakes Brandi's eyes and swings him towards Tatum. Brandi reverses things and swings Victory into Tatum. Tatum flies off the apron as Brandi rolls Victory up 1..2..3! BIG POP! Commercial Break Nelson: Wow, tremendous win for Tom Brandi. The fans have really gotten behind this exciting young man. Ok, joining me now are the new AWA National Tag Team champions, the Gunslingers. The fans cheer as The Gunslingers come out in jeans, cowboy boots, western style shirts and white cowboy hats. The National titles are on their shoulders. Nelson: Congratulations on winning the National Titles. You guys have been here in the AWA for awhile and really deserve those titles. As you know on Saturday December 22nd there will be the traditional tag team battle royal and the winners will now face you two for the National titles at SuperClash. Casey: Larry, we're on top of the world right now and feeling great. Johnny and I promise to be fighting champions and are..... Boos as Baby Doll leads Badd Company out. Baby Doll: You boys should know this term. Hold your horses. At Title Night you pulled off the biggest fluke in history. You come out here and say you'll be fighting champions, well prove it. We want a rematch and we want it right here next week. I'm not asking. Mantell: Like my partner said, we're fighting champions. So bring it on! Badd Company step towards them. The Gunslingers are ready to fight. Baby Doll calmly escorts her team to the back. Nelson: Well, ok, looks like we have a National tag team title match set for next week. My goodness. Commercial Break 'The Fabulous One' Steve Keirn vs. Harold Bannister Keirn looks impressive tonight and finishes things off with a reverse DDT. As Keirn celebrates with the fans, Dream Machine and Gary Young hit the ring and attack Keirn. Just as they start to put the boots to Keirn, Mr. Olympia hits the ring with fists flying. Olympia gets in some shots but the numbers catch up. Just as Dream and Young get the upper hand, Keirn recovers and it's a pier six brawl! Commercial Break AWA Mid-American Champ Larry Zbyszko vs. Ray Glader Zbyszko dismantles his opponent before putting him down with a swinging neckbreaker. Nelson: Larry Zbyszko, I have to say your actions at Title Night were despicable. Zbyszko: Who asked you spudhead. Look, Paul Orndorff was simply out of his league and he got hurt. Nelson: (rolls his eyes) Well, stay here because I understand the AWA C.O.O. Gerry Morrow has an announcement for you. Brenda Britton heads out with Gerry Morrow. Britton snatches the mic from Nelson. Britton: Hit the road Nelson. Ok Gerry, the floor is yours. Morrow: AHHHHH thank you Brenda. (looks at Zbyszko) and thank you Mr. Zbyszko for your time. As you and everybody knows, SuperClash 3 will take place on Saturday December 30th in Denver. Now Mr. Zbyszko, you have been quite clever in retaining your Mid American title. And as a clever man you should have no problem with dis announcement. At SuperClash, you will defend your title against Paul Orndorff and if you get disqualified or counted out, you will indeed lose your title. Zbyszko throws a fit. Zbyszko: Gerry, I thought we were friends. Why are you doing this to me? Morrow: Ahhhhh we are indeed friends. I am doing dis because like I said you are a very clever man and I'm sure you will find a way to win. I need to be fair and Mr. Orndorff does deserve another chance. I will tell you what, if you do win, you are invited to my private post SuperClash party and I will have a special toast just for you. Zbyszko (calming down) You're right Gerry. I'm the greatest AWA champion of all time and that's why I'm a living legend. I will prove that to you and I will enjoy the champagne celebration. Morrow: Ahhhhh dat is what I like to hear. Commercial Break Sgt. Slaughter vs. Arnie Goldstein Slaughter is pissed tonight and easily disposes of his opponent with the cobra clutch. Nelson: Sgt. Slaughter at Title Night.. Slaughter: Shut up Puke! I would like to ask the AWA C.O.O. Gerry Morrow to come back out here so I can have a word with him. Once again, Britton comes out with Morrow. Britton: You know the deal Nelson. Nelson shakes his head and hands over the mic. Britton: Busy night for you Gerry. Morrow: Hahahaha it is indeed. Ok Mr. Slaughter, go right ahead. Slaughter. I'll get right to the point. Everybody saw what I did to that maggot Nikita Koloff at Title Night. I think it's only fair that I get a rematch at the biggest event SuperClash! Morrow: I do like your fighting spirit Mr. Slaughter, I really do. However, de main event for SuperClash is already set. As a matter of fact, there will be a special press conference next week between de AWA World Champion Nikita Koloff and de number one contender Jumbo Tsuruta. However, I will do dis for you Mr. Slaughter. Tis the season for SuperClash, so I'm going to allow you to pick your opponent for SuperClash. It's a high profile event and if you win, that could propel you to another world title shot. What do you say? Slaughter: (contemplates this) I accept. Slaughter shakes Morrow's hand. Commercial Break 'Mad Dog' Buzz Sawyer and Kokina vs. Todd Rooney and George Wilbert Members of the Asylum simply destroy their opponents. Sawyer hits a powerslam on Wilbert as Kokina follows with a Samoan Drop for the easy win. Nelson is nervous as Sawyer swings his chain around and Kokina screams into the camera. Nelson: (still nervous) Buzz Sawyer, after what we saw at Title Night, it appears your issues with Carlos Colon haven't been resolved. Sawyer: (maniacal laugh) I told you Colon that this isn't over until I say it's over. At WrestleRock we had a great time fighting in a Carribean Death Match. At WarGames we had a blast beating each other senseless. Well now it's my turn to have a party. Colon! This all ends at SuperClash, because you and I are going to have the best time yet, in a chain match! I know you're at home licking your wounds and I know you're scared to death to face me again. But I want this match and you're going to give it to me or I'll come to Puerto Rico and drag you here myself, with this chain! Nelson runs away as Sawyer swings his chain while Kokina grabs a Crusher Blackwell poster from a fan and rips it up. Commercial Break Nelson: Well, in my hand is an envelope sent to us by Greg Gagne. This is the bounty money owed to the Mongolian Stomper. I want to get this over with, so if the Mongolian Stomper could come and collect this. Please do so. Boos as the Mongolian Stomper storms down the aisle. WHAM! He's nailed from behind by EL CANEK! Canek is wearing a brace around his mid section but that doesn't slow him down as he pounds down on Stomper. Security and officials rush out to stop this. Nelson: Oh my! It appears El Canek is still around and this money will go back to Greg Gagne. (Smiling) I really hope you're watching Greg. Commercial Break Nelson: Fans, before we get to our main event. Don't forget, tomorrow night at the Met Center, 8 tag teams will compete in a tournament for a shot at the AWA World tag team titles at SuperClash. It's been announced that Kerry Von Erich will face Terry Gordy inside a steel cage at SuperClash. Next week we'll hear from both men. Iceman Parsons goes one on one with Black Bart. AWA National tag team title bout as the Gunsligers defend against former champs Badd Company. I've just been told that El Canek will face Mongolian Stomper in a bounty match. And also, next week you will see the contract signing between Nikita Koloff and Jumbo Tsuruta. Our main event when we return. But first we have a recorded message from the TV champ Brian Adias. Adias is standing in front of a movie studio. He's reading a script. Adias: (looks up) Oh hey, just going over one of many scripts sent to me for approval. Now, I understand that today four supporting role players will go at it in a gauntlet match to face me for MY TV title at SuperClash. Me, the headliner, A-Lister and Blockbuster Brian Adias. I don't have time to comment because I have important business to take care of. Adias shows his script and goes back to reading it. Commercial Break 4-Man Gauntlet Match for an AWA TV Title shot at SuperClash 'The British Bomber' Dave Taylor vs. 'Diamond' Timothy Flowers vs. 'Dynamite' DJ Peterson vs. 'Luscious' Lanny Poffo Recent rivals Flowers and Taylor start things off. The bell rings and they pound away on each other. They go at it back and forth with some brutal shots and power moves. After a few minutes of stiff action, the Ref gets in the middle of an exchange and goes down. Taylor back drops Flowers. Flowers bounces around and goes to the outside. Taylor tries to wake the Ref up. Flowers grabs a chair and gets in the ring. The Ref starts to wake up. Flowers is ready to hit Taylor with the chair. Taylor turns around and kicks Flowers, then grabs the chair. Flowers quickly drops to the ground as the Ref stands up and sees Taylor with the chair. Flowers is holding his head and telling the Ref Taylor hit him with the chair. The Ref signals for the bell and disqualifies Taylor. Flowers is giggling. Taylor is pissed. Flowers gets up laughing and tells Taylor to leave. Taylor looks around, then whacks Flowers over his head with the chair. Flowers goes down as Taylor tosses the chair and exits. Here comes DJ Peterson. The fans cheer as DJ runs in the ring and covers Flowers 1..2..3! Officials run out to get Flowers out of the ring. Here comes Lanny Poffo skipping to the ring. Poffo charges DJ but DJ back drops him. DJ spends the first few minutes pinballing Poffo all over the ring. Poffo turns the tide with a lowblow. Poffo prances around as he works over DJ. Poffo suplexes DJ and follows with a jumping knee drop but can't put DJ away. Poffo swings DJ to the ropes and nails him with a high dropkick. Poffo slams DJ and goes to the top rope. Poffo goes for the moonsault but DJ moves. Both men slowly rise as DJ scoop slams Poffo down. DJ follows with a hanging suplex, swings off the ropes and comes down with a jumping elbow drop 1..2..Kick Out. DJ swings Poffo into the corner and charges in but Poffo lifts his knees as DJ hits them head on. Poffo quickly rolls DJ up with a handful of tights 1..2..DJ kicks out. Poffo berates the Ref. Poffo swings DJ to the ropes but misses a clothesline, DJ swings back and clotheslines Poffo down. DJ goes to the top rope. Poffo staggers up as DJ nails him with a flying shoulder tackle 1..2..3!!!! Mega POP! Nelson: Just listen to this crowd. DJ Peterson has a first class ticket to SuperClash. Fans in Minnesota, we'll see you tomorrow night for the big tag team tournament.

Assassin takes care of things between Michales and Knighton. Blaze is added to the mix and now we have a hot tag match coming. LOL, RPG bolts out of there before Fargo has a chance to say Hi. I can't wait until these two meet face to face. I know the fans loved seeing Tojo submit Bruno. I have a feeling Bass won't go easy on Falk's students. JT ends the show with an exciting win over Cuban Assassin. I'm sure we'll get another tag match soon. Fun show

Piper's Pit is coming to WCW with Terry Funk as his first guest. WOW! I don't even know what to expect. I like the importance put on the US tag titles. Reed finds a partner but Simmons is playing it with caution. Muraco is becoming a bit unhinged. I feel sorry for the person he snaps on. Loved the Morton/Gilbert angle. These guys can go and will give the fans some exciting matches. Dusty gives another golden promo. Him and Funk can beat each other up with fists and words. Can't wait for Season's Beatings!

I always love a final recap show before a huge event. You've done an amazing job building this event. Each match seems special. Can't wait for Starrcade!

AWA SuperClash Report The pieces are coming together after what went down at Title Night. It's now official that the SuperClash main event will be Nikita Koloff defending the AWA world Title against Jumbo Tsuruta. There will be a press conference in 2 weeks for the signing. Another important event will be the 8 Tag Team Tournament next weekend at the Met Center. The winners of the tournament will face the Guerreros at SuperClash for the AWA World Tag Team titles. AWA C.O.O. Gerry Morrow has decided that Kerry Von Erich will face Terry Gordy inside a steel cage at SuperClash. After several altercations in parking lots and dressing rooms, Morrow figures locking them inside a cage is the only way for them to settle this. Another match officially signed will be Crusher Blackwell taking on Kokina. Rumors are circulating that the AWA is looking for another celebrity ring announcer for the TV Title Bout. TV Champ Brian Adias says he can certainly help with this. With music sensation Donna Sommer and former Boxing heavyweight contender Ron Lyle already attached, Superclash 3 will definitely be getting a lot of attention from the media. The AWA recently announced that Big Van Vader had been signed for a match at SuperClash. It's now official that his opponent will be Tatsumi Fujinami. Stay tuned for more information.

AWA puts Badd Company (Paul Diamond and Pat Tanaka) on the block.

Survivor Series is hyped up and ready to go! Can't wait!

After that display, Miyato's luck is changing for the better. Funaki fights a smart match and it pays off. Smiley and Fleming give the fans a grappling clinic. Man, I thought Fleming had this, but that Smiley is very crafty. Fujiwara edges out Yamazaki. These guys are very evenly matched. Maybe a rematch in the future. I liked the tag team concept. Pretty fresh and interesting. That Gordeau knows how to fight dirty, but it came back to bite him. The Koslowski brothers are for real. WOW! Big win for Nakamura as he defeats the teacher. The dragon suplex by Takada sets up Vrij's defeat. Impressive move. Nielsen came to fight and gave Maeda a few scares. Maeda pulls it out and definitely sends the fans home happy. Gutsy performance by Nielsen. I would say the UWF will be booking the NK Hall again.

Eventually everybody is in the ring. The Ref allows some leniency as the teams go at it. Slaughter gets back in the ring and charges Nikita but Nikita is ready and they have a furious exchange. Nikita gets the upper hand and punches Slaughter through the ropes. Slaughter yells and points up at Nikita as Nikita looks down at him while holding the title high. Winner of the Match by C.O. and STILL AWA World Champion- Nikita Koloff

Battleground, let's do this! Azul has been a highlight in the LHW division, smart move showcasing him to kick things off. Albright's rampage continues as he takes down one tough customer. Finlay blows his feud off with Burke, but man did he have to fight for it. Like Azul, King has added more fuel to the LHW's divisions fire. Nice move by Steamboat to counter Hennig. I believe we have the next serious contender. Severn gets another impressive defense but Regal proves he's more than a credible contender. Owen went out like a pro. DDP has a gem in Adams. Only the Midnights could out heel the heels. I always like Furnas and Lefon and it looks like they're in line for a title shot. Wow, Christopher pulls out the dirtiest tactics to win the LHW title. Talk about heat. Rose looks like his old self and takes Pillman to the limit but the always resilient Pillman finds a way to retain. Night 2! Candido shines bright tonight. Lee out brawls Cactus. I actually think both men will have a big year in 1989. Beating Anvil definitely elevates Chono. The Warriors have a successful reunion but the SCS will be back for more. Spicoli goes down in another game effort but his day is coming. Looks like Eddie has had enough of Barr's antics. It was great seeing the FOJ rack up another high profile win. Bret finally gets his revenge but I don't think Bam Bam is done with this fight. I believe young Dustin has solidified his right to be champion. Damn, Tenyru is a beast! Props to the Southern Boys for a fantastic run. I have to admit, I'm looking forward to a Destruction Crew reign. WHOA! Hall gets a tremendous career boost win over the Undertaker. Great feud, The ending to this show will be talked about for years to come. I was not expecting Haynes to snap like that. I mean he went off the deep end. I'm sure Windham was glad he got out of there. Can't say the same for the poor Ref. I can't wait to see the follow up. This show had it all and there was something for every kind of wrestling fan. Outstanding job!

AWA TV @ The Hammond Center 11-17-88 Larry Nelson: Hello everybody and welcome to AWA Major League Wrestling. As you all know, tomorrow night the AWA will be in Milwaukee at the Mecca for Title Night. All the participants competing are in Milwaukee as we speak. That event of course will be televised, so tune in tomorrow night. As for tonight's show. Explosive main event as Kerry Von Erich takes in Terry Gordy. You'll also see Gary Young versus Mr. Olympia. Those two have had quite the rivalry. Another feature bout will see Dave Taylor going one on one with Timothy Flowers. Ok, let's get to the ring. The San Juan Saints vs. Carl Kellerman and Trent Watkins The Saints continue to get over with the AWA fans and get the win with a double suplex followed by stereo elbow drops. Nelson: Fans, next Saturday night in the Met Center, the AWA will host an 8-team tournament. The winners will receive a shot at the AWA world tag titles at SuperClash 3. Here are the first round match ups, The Fantastics vs. The Glamour Boys w/Lanny Poffo The Singhs vs. Venomous The Bruisers vs. The Mean Machine w/Dream Machine The Rose Cousins vs. The Wild Ones Commercial Break Iceman Parsons vs. Neil Jordan Parsons looks pissed tonight and finishes things off with the Hip Attack! Nelson: Iceman, I'm truly sorry on how everything went down with you and your TV title reign. I'm sure you have something to say. Parsons: First, I beat Adias for the TV title. Then, he somehow convinces Gerry Morrow to hold the title up. I went with it. And then that no good, dirty coward Black Bart hits me upside my head with a cowbell and costs me the TV title! Black Bart! I'm coming for you and I'm coming for some big time payback boy! Get ready because the Iceman is coming for ya! Commercial Break 'The British Bomber' Dave Taylor vs. 'Diamond' Timothy Flowers These two give the fans a good back and forth slugfest. Taylor is stiff but clean as he puts his scientific skills to work. Flowers has no problem breaking the rules and mixes that in with some hard hitting shots. They continue to go back and forth and end up fighting on the outside. The Ref hits 10 and counts both men out. Officials come out to break them up. After a minute, Taylor starts to leave. WHAM! Flowers nails him from behind with a chair. Flowers throws the chair down and looks into the camera "I told you my next shot would connect!" Commercial Break Venomous vs. Warren Coolidge and Maurice Thorpe Cobra hits a snap suplex and Kat follows with a senton for the win. Venomous look tuned up and ready for the Singhs and the Tag Team Tournament. Commercial Break Crusher Blackwell vs. Teddy Reed Blackwell hits a big splash and it's all over. Nelson: Crusher Blackwell, it seems you and Kokina have had some issues of late. Blackwell: I guess we have. Kokina seems to think he's the biggest and baddest monster around here. Kokina! To prove that, you have to go through me. Go ahead and bring it on big boy! Commercial Break We come back and see Greg Gagne sitting on a lounge chair and sipping a drink. Gagne: Today is a day of celebration. I decided to take the day off from my physical therapy because well, I've earned it. My heart is filled with joy because that masked moron El Canek is no more. Mongolian Stomper, I am forever grateful to you. Next week I will have a check sent to you in the amount of 250,000 dollars. I want that idiot Nelson to present it to you on TV, so the world can watch. Job well done Mr. Stomper. Gagne raises his glass. Commercial Break Mr. Olympia vs. 'The Fortunate One' Gary Young w/The Dream Machine Before the bell rings, Dream and Young attack Olympia! They swing him to the ropes and double clothesline him down. They start putting the boots to him. Wait a minute! Here comes Steve Keirn! Keirn hits the ring with fists flying! He holds his own until Olympia recovers. Olympia and Keirn stereo clothesline Dream and Young over the top rope! The fans are going nuts as Olympia and Keirn high five and hug. Meanwhile, Dream and Young are trying to clear the cobwebs on the outside. Commercial Break The Bruisers vs. Milt May and Todd Rooney Strong hits a backbreaker on Rooney, then tags in Busick. Strong swings Rooney to the ropes as Busick hits the spinebuster slam for the win! Bruisers cut a promo and said they couldn't be happier that they're facing Mean Machine in the 1st round of the tournament. The Bruisers say they're going to destroy the Mean Machine and then win the tournament and eventually the world tag titles. Commercial Break We come back and see Brian Adias standing in front of the Hollywood Sign landmark. He's wearing sunglasses, shorts and a tank top with the TV title on his shoulder. Adias: Life is great! Now that the AWA TV title is back where it belongs. Brian Adias has been in high demand, right here in Hollywood. I'm so huge that I will now be referred to as Blockbuster Brian Adias. I've got movie deals in the works with some of the biggest names in Hollywood. Now, I don't want my fans to worry, because I'll be back on AWA TV defending this here title, MY title, very soon. Until then, I'll see you when I see you. Commercial Break The Olympians vs. Bobby Baines and Ray Glader Rheingans hits a gut wrench suplex and Patera follows with the Full Nelson to get the win. Nelson: Fans, next weekend, 8 teams will compete for a shot at the World Tag Titles at SuperClash 3. However, I understand that the Olympians will be flying to Japan tomorrow and will miss the tournament. Patera: That's right and it's a shame because we would've looked forward to some friendly and competitive competition in the tournament. But hey, the AWA knew there was only one team that could represent them well and that's us. Rheingans: That's right. The Olympians are all about playing by the rules and winning the old fashion way, with our skills and talent. Cream always rises to the top and we'll get our title shot when we return. Commercial Break Black Bart vs. Dean Kyle Bart wins the match with his Texas Trash compactor! Bart cuts a promo on Iceman and says if Parsons wants a fight, he'll take him on any dug gum time! Bart even says he'll take him on right now, but Nelson tells him Iceman has already left the building. Bart then calls Parsons a yellow bellied gutless chicken! Commercial Break Kerry Von Erich vs. Terry 'Bam Bam' Gordy Nelson: Fans, we're still waiting...wait a second. Ok, our cameras are going to the back. It appears there's some kind of altercation going on. The cameras go to the back. Inside the dressing room, Kerry and Gordy are trading punches. Wrestlers try to break them up, but they break free and continue to hammer away on each other. They keep pounding away on each other. Finally, more wrestlers jump in and separate them. After a few seconds, Gordy jumps back in the scene and the fight is back on. More hard shots are traded as the wrestlers continue to try and break them up. Title Night Tomorrow Night! The Mecca, Milwaukee WI AWA World Title Bout Nikita Koloff (C) vs. Sgt. A lot going on in WCW as they head into a loaded December. The Horsemen story has been very interesting. I'm very curious on how they're going to start 1989. Flair is in trouble with both Sting and Luger coming after him. Boogie Woogie Man might get his wish but I have a feeling Rogers will prevent that by any means necessary. Cool seeing the Lightning Express getting a push. I still can't believe Piper hasn't been attacked yet LOL. I'm hoping we get a Piper/Muraco feud. Jim Herd! Please sign Dibiase and Williams vs. The Samoan Savages! Hmmmm, could seeds be planting for a Hansen/Murdoch feud. Get ready because Reed and the Nation are going to go at it again. WOW! Dusty wins this round but Funk sounded like he's ready for more. Funk really is middle aged and crazy LOL.
-
The Stud Stable and Lawmen feud escalates and now we get the big 6 man title match for Starrcade. The Assassin has rejuvenated the Beasts. I'm hoping we get a Brown/Super D title match for Starrcade. One of the best feuds in the game has been Wahoo and Lightfoot. After all the violence, we're going to get an epic blow off at Starrcade. Garvin ties up all loose ends from the Series and then puts Tully down with the hands of stone punch! Hawk sends a strong message to the champs. You're build to Starrcade has been a wild ride. It reminds me of the awesome 80s Starrcade's IRL. Great job!

Very intriguing storyline with the Wildside and Reno. I do feel a little bad for Reno. The Nightmares will thrive here. It looks like Ronnie is planting some seeds for a Nightmares/Renestos feud. I can get behind that. Wildside and Cubans keep the heat on their feud. This time it's Michaels who plays a factor in Knighton's win over the Assassin. This was some good TV. I can't imagine what the big surprise will be. One thing's for sure, I'll be tuning in.
-
This should be a good one.
-
Sorry for the late response. AWA will drop out of the draft.
-
Great job hyping up Survivor Series! All the matches announced show how stacked this roster really is. The action figures are a true spectacle. I'm looking forward to watching who gets pushed at Survivor Series. What new feuds will develop and which ones will get blown off. Big things are going to happen.

Lynn wants to prove he can hang in Pacific. Adams gets the win but Spicoli gets his respect. Silver King is rapidly rising the LHW rankings. Well, it was inevitable but Corny and the Midnights finally leave Vic hanging. However, looks like we're going to get a Rainbow Warriors reunion. Hart passes a tough test but Bigelow awaits. Cow Palace, Payne gets a sweet and satisfying win. Owen puts his technical skills to work. NOE have some momentum going against the Brigade. Yea, Silver King's a serious contender now. I hope Haynes stays focused on Windham and keeps away from Albright for now. Because Windham is looking 100% focused. Fresno, That crazy Barr opens things up with a win. Regal scores an impressive win over a former champ. Adams scores the victory over an always game Eddie. Oh man, sad news as Anvil announces he's leaving. I'll say this, he had the best hometown record I've ever seen. DDP has the Destruction Crew in top forum. Once again, Pillman closes the show with another successful title win, this time over a former TV champ. Pillman has become a huge star here. Bring on San Diego Battleground!!!

AWA TV @ The Hammond Center 11-10-88 Larry Nelson: Hello everybody and welcome to AWA major league wrestling. Title Night is just one week away and we'll be talking a lot about that tonight. Tonight's main event will be the Rose Cousins taking on current rivals the Wild Ones. DJ Peterson takes on one half of the National tag champs Paul Diamond. In a bounty match, Mongolian Stomper goes after El Canek. All that and a lot more, let's go to the ring. 'The British Bomber' Dave Taylor vs. Carl Kellerman Taylor enters the ring wearing a glittered Union Jack themed sleeveless robe. It's been awhile since Taylor was last seen in the AWA but from his recent vignette he seems to have gone back to his roots and says things will be different this time around. Taylor dominates the match and wins it with a running forearm blast. Nelson informs us that next week Dave Taylor will take on Timothy Flowers. Commercial Break Kokina w/The Singhs vs. Neil Jordan Kokina decimates his opponent and finishes things off with the Samoan Drop. Nelson gets more nervous as a chain swinging Buzz Sawyer joins the other Asylum members at ringside. Gama: Stand back Nelson or suffer the consequences. Venomous, you are sadly mistaking if you think you can go toe to toe with myself and Tiger Jeet. You don't measure up to us and you will get hurt. As for you Crusher Blackwell, you now have to deal with Kokina. I will fully unleash the monster Kokina and you will have to suffer the wrath! Commercial Break Bounty Match- NO DQ El Canek vs. The Mongolian Stomper As Canek heads to the ring, Stomper runs up from behind and whacks him across his back with a steel chair. Canek goes to his knees as Stomper whacks the chair across his back for a second time. Stomper tosses the chair and just starts stomping Canek's back. Stomper picks up Canek and executes a back breaker. Stomper applies a Boston Crab and wrenches away. Stomper releases the hold. He looks down at Canek and gives him a few more stomps, then just walks away. Medics rush out to tend to Canek. Commercial Break Nelson: Fans, I hope to give you an update on El Canek soon. I'm not sure, but the Mongolian Stomper may have just earned 250,000 dollars from Greg Gagne. Switching gears, you all saw the intense parking lot fight last week between Terry Gordy and Kerry Von Erich. Listen to this, next week here on TV, the main event will be Terry Gordy one on one with Kerry Von Erich. Don't miss that one. Ok, joining me now are the AWA National tag team champs Badd Co. along with Baby Doll. Bad Company plays as Baby Doll leads her champs out. Nelson: Ok, at Title Night, Badd Company will defend their titles against the Gunslingers. The Gunslingers have been on quite the roll and just may unseat your champs. Baby Doll: You're joking right Nelson? Those two dime store cowboys don't stand a chance against my team of the 90s. They're not even worth talking about anymore. Those city slickers can stay tuned to this program and watch Paul Diamond dismantle that big dummy DJ Peterson. Then they'll see what my champs are all about. Nelson: Ok, a very confident Baby Doll, let's go back to the ring. 'Thrilling' Tom Brandi vs. Trent Watkins Brandi excites the fans and wins the match with a missile dropkick! Commercial Break Coast to Coast vs. Sam Smith and Harold Bannister Victory and Tatum are in total unison and win the match with a double flapjack. Coast to Coast cut a promo and say they're going to take the world titles from the Guerreros at Title Night. They close by saying they're dedicating their win to the Vin Man. Commercial Break 'Mr. Wonderful' Paul Orndorff vs. Clyde Putnam The fans cheer as Orndorff hits the piledriver for the win! Nelson: Paul, last week you eliminated Larry Zbyszko from the battle royal and then his distraction helped Sgt. Slaughter eliminate you to win it. And then Zbyszko hits you with his Mid American title. Well, you now have your chance at Title Night. Orndorff: Zbyszko! I'm going to make this plain and simple. At Title Night, I'm going to piledrive your head through the mat and take that Mid American title from you! Commercial Break Nelson talks about the match at Title Night between Carlos Colon and Jumbo Tsuruta. The winner of that match will get the coveted AWA World Title shot at SuperClash 3. He sends us to pre recorded comments. Colon: 1988 has been a great year for Carlos Colon. My goal has always been to become World Champion. Jumbo Tsuruta is going to be a huge obstacle but I will get by him and get that world title shot. Jumbo is standing with Ray Stevens Stevens: I said I was going to release Jumbo Tsuruta's full potential and now it has paid off. Jumbo Tsuruta is a human wrecking machine and at Title Night he's going to run over Carlos Colon and after that he's going to take what's rightfully his, the AWA world title! Commercial Break 'Dynamite' DJ Peterson vs. AWA National Tag Champ Paul Diamond w/Baby Doll and Pat Tanaka DJ and Diamond give the fans a pretty fun back and forth contest. A few minutes in, DJ is in full control as he pinballs Diamond with a series of power moves. It was only a matter of time, but Baby Doll gets on the apron and distracts the Ref, which allows Tanaka to quickly run in the ring and give DJ a karate kick to the back of his head. Diamond takes control and works over DJ with some power moves of his own. Diamond executes a hanging vertical suplex but can't put DJ away. Diamond goes for an elbow drop from the middle ropes but DJ moves. The fans fire DJ up as DJ hammers away on Diamond. DJ scoop slams Diamond and swings off the ropes but Tanaka reaches in and trips DJ. The fans cheer as the Gunslingers run out and double clothesline Tanaka down. Baby Doll is yelling at the Gunslingers. The Gunslingers pick up Baby Doll and carry her up the aisle. Diamond sees this and heads to the outside, but DJ grabs him from behind and hits a belly to back suplex 1..2..3!!! Big POP! Commercial Break Nelson: With me now is the Dream Machine and Gary Young. Dream: Listen up Nelson, because I've got something to say babay! Next week, my man, the fortunate one Gary Young will finally get rid of Mr. Olympia once and for all! But that's not all. Dream Machine is expanding. I have acquired a new team here in the AWA. I'm talking about Mike Miller and Rip Oliver, the Mean Machine! Miller and Oliver come out wearing black vests, black knee pads and black boots. They shake hands with Dream and Young. Nelson: Wait a minute! You guys attacked the Bruisers last week and costed them a shot at the world titles. Now you're with this guy. What gives? Miller: What gives is we're here in the AWA to destroy anything that gets in our way! I was suspended from the AWA a few months ago just for beating people up. Mr. Morrow reinstated me and I made it known that the AWA needs to toughen up and he seemed to agree. Oliver: That's exactly right! I got soft spending too much time caring about these sissy fans. Those days are over. The Mean Machine is serving notice. Bruisers! You think you're the toughest team around? Think again! Dream: That sums it all up babay! Just look at Dream's Team. Gary Young and the Mean Machine! There aint no stopping us! Commercial Break The Fantastics vs. Vic Dutro and Wille Lopez Fantastics put on a tag team display before winning the match with the Rocket Launcher! Fantastics cut a heated promo on the Glamour Boys and Lanny Poffo. They say they're going to teach the Glamour Boys what tag team wrestling is all about and if Poffo interferes again, they're going to slap the makeup off his face! Commercial Break Nelson: Fans, after our main event we will hear comments from Sgt Slaughter and AWA world champ Nikita Koloff. As for next week's show, I'll be talking to Iceman Parsons. I understand we will see a special video sent in from Hollywood by TV champ Brian Adias. Gary Young takes on Mr. Olympia. Dave Taylor squares off against Timothy Flowers. And a blockbuster main event as Terry Gordy goes one on one with Kerry Von Erich. Ok, let's go to our main event. The Rose Cousins vs. The Wild Ones The bell rings and we get a pier six brawl right away. The Rose's hit stereo back drops on the Wild Ones. Wild Ones stagger up and the Rose's stereo clothesline them over the top rope. Rose's celebrate as the Wild Ones try and regroup. The Ref gets some order as Pat works over Davey. Pat hip tosses Davey across the ring. Johnny runs in and gets hip tossed across the ring. Johnny stands up as Randy (on the apron) nails him with a punch. Davey goes after Randy but Pat tackles him and pounds away. The Rose's continue to work over the Wild Ones. Randy goes for a suplex on Johnny but Davey runs in and clips Randy behind the knees. The Wild Ones take the next segment and go to work on Randy. Davey runs over and slaps Pat. Pat gets in the ring, but the Ref guides him back, which allows the Wild Ones to hit a double suplex on Randy. Davey tags in Johnny. Davey slams Randy as Johnny comes off the middle ropes with a knee drop 1..2..Kick Out. Johnny swings Randy to the ropes and goes for a back drop but Randy kicks him, dives over and tags in Pat. Pat is on fire as he cleans house. He knocks Davey out of the ring. He works over Johnny, then slams him down and follows with a fist drop 1..2..Davey runs in with a kick. Randy runs in and pounds away on Davey. Another pier six brawl happens. The Wild Ones take control and swing the Rose's towards each other, but the Rose's reverse things and swing the Wild Ones into each other. The Wild Ones collide and stagger backwards as the Rose's clothesline both of them down. Pat slams Davey as Randy hops on the turnbuckles and comes down with a slingshot splash on Davey 1..2..3! The fans get up and cheer! Commercial Break Sgt. Slaughter is standing in front of an AWA banner Slaughter: One week! Nikita Koloff, you have only one week left as the AWA world champion. I made my mission known from the beginning and that mission will be accomplished in one week. I will rid the AWA of that puke commie and I will be a world champion this country can be proud of! Nikita is standing in front of an AWA banner with the title on his shoulder Koloff: Sgt. Slaughter, you have no idea what you are dealing with. You have gotten under Nikita's skin and now I'm going to have to shut that big mouth of yours. I know the best way to do that, it's with the Russian Sickle!
