AWA News It's been leaked out that Hulk Hogan's contract is set to expire soon. Word is that Verne Gagne and Hogan have been involved in several meetings. Verne knows that Hogan has taken the AWA to heights never seen before. His merchandise has made a phenomenal amount of money. With Hogan's help, the AWA has been able to bring in celebrities from all genres to major events. Hogan's main events have sold out arenas everywhere. His year long world title reign was a massive success. His matches with Ric Flair drew huge money and the War Games blow off sold out the Mecca in a matter of hours. And with the AWA's biggest event of the year, WrestleRock coming in July, Verne really wants to get things worked out. Things seem to be going in the right direction but Hogan has been free to discuss other offers. We'll definitely get a sense of the AWA's direction after Champagne Slam. Word is that Hogan was promised another reign after dropping the title to Flair. Originally, after the SuperClash controversy, Hogan and Flair were to meet in a third match at Champagne Slam, where Hogan would regain the title. However, plans unexpectedly changed when Flair and Verne weren't able to come to a contract agreement and Flair departed. Hogan's been very cooperative in his recent feud with Gerry Morrow but made it crystal clear that he wants another run with the title. In other news, the AWA has worked out a very special deal with Mil Mascaras. He will appear in an International title match at Champagne Slam against Carlos Colon, with more dates scheduled. The talks went back and forth and after long hours, an agreement was finally made. It appears that the AWA wants to shake things up in the tag team scene. There is talk of unifying the world and national tag titles and putting a lot of emphasis on the 6-Man titles. Recently, all the focus has been on the world title tournament. After that concludes at Champagne Slam, the build to WrestleRock starts. Unsettled feuds will continue and new programs will start. There's been talk of a special gauntlet match to decide who gets the coveted world title shot at WrestleRock.

Jannetty seems to have found a suitable tag partner Splash off a giant's shoulders is always a cool visual Pretty Wonderful is rising the rankings After a good build, RnR caps things off with a title win! Trouble brewing on Bad Street Good call having Nikita and Dustin get the win. This will piss off the Dangerous Alliance and bring in more heat The Body is running things now and already makes a controversial call with the US title. The wrestlers will have to learn Jesse's logic. Sting reenergizes the fans OOOOOOHHHH what a rush! The Road Warriors are back! LOD vs Doom will be money! Davey looked strong. Owen makes his return but, in the end, Sid still rules the world. Well, at least for now because Sting's back in the hunt.

Scotty's proving to be a solid mentor to Richards. This experiment might work after all PCO gets a nice showcase Man, Kawada's even more dangerous now. That's scary I'll give the OWC props, they're not backing down but I have a feeling the MVC are going to want to finish them off once and for all. Stormfront is looking to regain momentum Regal gets a satisfying submission win but it didn't come easy LA SOB's put down the FBI but I know this isn't over Malenko gets a decisive win Yea, Williams and Gordy better finish off the OWC so they can focus on Dibiase and Lee Bigelow keeps racking up wins, putting the champs on notice I never thought the Midnights could lose the Trios titles but the Brigade puts an end to their epic reign Oh yea! I've been waiting for Hart/Kawada! The match didn't disappoint and with that finish, we're going to get more Santa Barbara Money Train get a confidence building win Damn, even in defeat, the fans will be talking about Sabu's risks Dragon's tuning up for his big shot Martel and Eddie give the fans a classic Coast to Coast is in total sync Liger ends the night in exciting fashion

Welcome to the WWF Great job picking up right where AD left off. The WrestleMania follow up was well done and looks like a lot of exciting things ahead with SNME and KOTR. LOL, King comes in and immediately irks Gorilla. Loved the way they played off each other The Killer Bees look to get back in title contention with a big win over the Pitbulls. Uncle Ivan isn't a happy man right now Excellent contrasting promos with Jake setting an evil tone while Tito celebrates his feel good title win Looks like the machine is behind Titan. Somebody must've caught his action in the territories. Orton and Tatanka will be a solid feud. The cowboy veteran vs. The young Native American powerhouse. It sells itself Damn! Jake didn't waste any time in finding a man who wants to hurt people. Shocking moment as Andre turns on Snuka to join the dark side After a rough feud, Dynamite saves Benoit and patches things up. Respect. Nice house show loop. You're reestablishing some stars while giving the champs showcases to settle into their reigns. Very smooth transition. The WWF hasn't lost a step.
-
It's WrestleMania!!! Let's do this one last time brother! The Free for All was action packed and I'm sure got some last minute buys The 6-Man elimination match was a great way to kick off the show. This feud was built up well. Dynamite standing tall as the sole survivor really gets the fans invested right off the bat. Regis worked so well with the Snake interview. Manny made it easy for Murdoch to choose a side. Excellent finish LOL, leave it to Lawler to start a massive brawl at Mania. Anything to keep his crown Duggan and Debeers didn't need a lot of build. Their gimmicks are enough to make this a grudge match. Duggan gets the win for USA Earthquake vs. Billy Jack was exactly the power match it was meant to be. Quake retains Fantastics came to fight but damn, that Nasty finish was definitely a Mania moment Tito's ready for his big shot. Solid promo that showed emotion. Bad News for Slick as Brown finally gets his satisfaction on the grand stage. That was well worth the wait. The Twin Towers end the impressive reign of Ronin. I'll give Warrior a lot of credit for beating the count after a DDT on the concrete. But a second one was just too much to handle. Huge win for the Snake. What a way to end Mania as Tito defeats that crazy Funk to win the WWF title. Tito's having a career year and deserved to win the title. Well my friend, you went out with a bang. Thank you for all your hard work and positive feedback. You will be truly missed. Good luck with your future projects. It's been a great ride.

WCW's tag division is incredibly stacked! I'm pulling for Brad Armstrong. Hoping he gets a TV title shot soon The Dangerous Alliance is in full threat mode but not sure that works on Nikita, the Rhodes and Steamboat Sting's staying busy Davey Boy has delivered 2 strong messages to Sid Bring on the Clash!
-
A Fastball/SOBs alliance? Yea, I could see that Stevie's going through withdrawals but he just might make it, One step at a time After that showing, Finlay has reason to be proud Martel and Condrey put on a textbook classic. Dibiase trying to get some momentum going No shame getting put down by the Spinebuster Slam. Happens to everyone Cow Palace Awesome win over the Patriot I know Regal loved that satisfying fall Young goes toe to toe but Gordy prevails That win puts Eddie into title contention Huge title defense for Iron and Steel. I'm wondering if Dibiase is regretting parting ways with Gordy and Williams Hart always worked great matches with power men. This was one of them. Fresno Money Train wins a battle but the war will rage on Rough solo weekend for the FOJ. Maybe time to regroup as a team Thrillseekers continue to rise the rankings I've noticed Bigelow is getting hot again. Watch out! Severn and Blackman take the GS champs to the limit. Bring on the rematch RVD closes out the weekend with an exciting finish

Norton puts his power to work. He slams Burke hard to the mat and drops an elbow 1..2..Kick Out. Norton hoists up Burke and executes a German Suplex followed by another. Norton delivers a backbreaker 1..2..Kick Out. Arcidi gets on the apron and yells at the Ref for counting slow. Norton swings Burke to the ropes but Burke reverses it and swings Norton into Arcidi. Burke rolls Norton up 1..2..3! The fans pop as Burke earns his way to Champagne Slam. Commercial Break AWA First Round Tournament Match Konnan vs. The Missouri Tiger The first few minutes is back and forth with both men showing off their strength. Konnan hits a springboard clothesline but only gets a 2 count. Moments later, Tiger hits a sweet powerslam but Konnan manages to kick out. Next week will be the final four matches of the first round and then Champagne Slam will be set. Speaking of that... Brenda Britton walks out. Britton: Take a walk Nelson! Nelson rolls his eyes and walks away. Britton: Hi everybody! Please welcome out the man who put the Champagne in slam. The greatest C.O.O. the wrestling world has ever seen and the future AWA world champion, Gerry Morrow! BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOS!!!!!! Morrow: AHHHHHHHHH thank you Brenda! Britton: Ok Gerry, what do you think about that overrated jerk Hulk Hogan being cleared for the tournament. Morrow: HAHAHAHA! Dat does not bother de Champagne man at all. I said he was a very foolish man and he is. I know he is still hurt but de man has an inflated ego. I know he paid off de doctors and I should have people look into it. A bit of his own medicine after his malicious accusations of me in de past. But I will not do that because it just so happens his first round opponent next week will be a man on my payroll Mr. Hashimoto. Dat fool Hulk Hogan will not make it out of de first round. Ohhhhh but I will and I will be de last man standing and take de world title. And Brenda, we will have de greatest toast off all time. I promise you dat. Britton: Awwwww Gerry, you're the best! It all happens here. Until next time toooooodles! Commercial Break We see Hulk Hogan grimacing as he lifts weights. He stops and looks into the camera. We see the cut on his forehead from Morrow's bottle blast. Hogan: Every day I look in the mirror, I'm reminded of what that coward Morrow and his henchmen did! Oh yea brother, they thought they ended Hulkamania for good. Yea, I'm hurting and still reeling from that attack. But what they forgot was Hulkamania is immortal and the power of all my Hulkamaniacs will always bring me back. Just ask the four horsemen about Hulkamania brother! Hulk Hogan has risen and I'm coming to win back the world title! I just hope Gerry Morrow and I cross paths because if we do, trust me when I say this, I will annihilate Morrow on the way to the world title! My climb back up the mountain starts next week with another man on the list. Hashimoto! You're first! Whatcha gonna do when Hulkamania runs wild on you and all the way to Champagne Slam!

Enjoyed the HBO special. You did a good job showcasing the WrestleMania participants with matches and promos. Northern Invasion and Commonwealth have been going at it. We'll see if things get resolved at Mania Lawler and Beefcake have had some good verbal battles. King Bruti has a good ring to it I think the entire WWF universe wants Duggan to knock Debeers block off Nasties and Fantastics are going to BRAWL! LOL, great comment about Warrior's promo Twin Towers have the momentum but never count Ronin out Mania is stacked! The blow offs will be epic!
-
The WWF puts out some big house shows on the road to WrestleMania Spivey had a red hot weekend until he took that cane shot from Brown. The Commonwealth and Northern Invasion trade battle wins. The Manny/Bart feud continues to escalate. Debeers keeps pushing it with Duggan A hit by the branding iron followed by a DDT. Damn, rough night for Tito as Mania approaches.
-
Paul E's always looking into official documentation. I hope for Nikita's sake his paperwork is in order RnR and the Freebirds is always a good go to feud DDP is about to get a lot of in ring experience when he faces the Stinger Always liked the Orndorff/Roma pairing. Looks like they're getting a nice push here Nice build to the Sid/Bulldog Clash match. Two powerhouses going at it will be a blast to watch
-
Rough week for Pretty in Pink. I think Tasha's just about done with them Cool seeing Misty and Kat getting main event treatment The slow build is working because I can't wait for Morton to defend against Wild Dog If he's working for Tasha, then she found a good hitman with the Cuban Assassin.
-
One person I would not have wanted to be was the man facing Kawada after his title loss Fastball's winning and having fun I felt Scotty's slaps from here! Maybe this will finally wake Stevie up. After all the previous drama, Candido shows he can get focused as well Young hangs in there but Gordy's in the zone now FOJ wants back in the title picture Eddie's a proven contender but Busick owns the TV title right now Portland Sandman and Vito keep their feud going while Cornette runs for his life from Peaches The crybaby chants are too much for Candido. Just when I thought he was getting his focus back Lane gets a sweet victory Jericho rebounds with a beautiful win Condrey doesn't lose much in PCW so Bigelow's definitely back on track. Hart gets the fall after an ALL-STAR tag main event Eugene Wow Guido gets a submission victory. He's come a long way in his feud with Scorpio I think Blackman really needed that solo win. Coast to Coast is in total sync Liger and Dragon get the win and some first hand scouting RVD caps the weekend off with a successful CA title defense

Liked the house shows continuing the feuds like Warrior/Snake, Brown-Spivey/Slick, Duggan/Debeers and Dynamite/Benoit. Funk definitely made the right decision with both Andre and Tito going after him. Big win for the Bolsheviks beating a red hot High Energy The WWF classics Snuka and Andre will always be loved Damn, looks like Funk chose a side. Bart might need to convince Murdoch to join him. Debeers, Berzerker and Spivey show what the heels are made of. Haku proves he's still one of the baddest men on the planet by beating the always tough Wahoo I'm counting down the days to Mania!
-
The Steamboat/Hennig story gets top bill this weekend and now we're going to get a thrilling conclusion with an iron man match. Two elite workers going at it for 30 minutes will be awesome TV Davey Boy gets the big title shot but man Sid's ruling the world right now RnR comes back with strong support. We'll see how they do matching up with WCW's stacked tag roster I like the fun TV feud going on with Pillman and the Mountie. I would love to see Brad Armstrong sneak in a title match with Pillman. Nikita and the Rhodes have formed a nice alliance. Nice rivals for the Dangerous Alliance Sting stays in the spotlight and I wonder how long before him and Sid lock horns again
-
TNT is ready to explode! This promotion is loaded! With those matches booked, the kick off show will definitely have the wrestling world buzzing with excitement.

WrestleMania is really coming together Beefcake takes down the hammer but can he win the crown. Can the power of Billy Jack take down the monster Earthquake? I have a feeling Slick's going to get some bad news at Mania If the Outlaws are quiet that means a storm's coming The tag teams get highlighted Nasties and Fantastics in a street fight, bring it on! Warrior and Snake are two of the biggest names and get a high profile match at Mania.

R.I. gets a fun card with legends like Andre and Snuka along with hot new talent like Brandi and Disco. The Commonwealth/Northern Invasion feud is drawing some good heat. Loved the tournament in Boston. Billy Jack looks strong as he heads to Mania to face Earthquake. Everybody will want to see if he can clamp the full nelson on Quake. In Toronto, Debeers continues to get nuclear heat. High Energy is winning their way to a title shot. The Ronin have momentum going into Mania. Jake and Warrior turn up the heat on their new rivalry.

WrestleWar! Here we go! Pillman's always the way to go to get the fans energized LOL, only Hayes could survive like that. Props to the Bullet. The man still has it At least Holly got one move in. Taker's coming on strong I remember hating it when the VHS versions would cut several matches Hall's moving up Jannetty putting in time as a solo OOOOOHHHH Paul E added even more heat to the Nikita/Rude feud Doom's dominating the tag team scene right now. That match was a statement Steamboat and Hennig steal the show as Steamboat pulls it off. I'm thinking Paul E may have found a way to get the decision reversed Great write up with the War Games. Totally felt like I was there live. Sting's Squadron gets the win but man Sid delivers the final image. Poor Owen. WCW delivers once again

Renesto's losing his patience with Tasha The Dudley's bring the comedy and take care of business At least Richie was thinking of Tasha but his gift turns into chaos. Looks like Tasha found herself an enforcer. At some point I think I need a Dudley's/Crazies match LOL The final shot of the chicken at the end cracked me up

Things get crazy right off the bat as Debeers gives Ross a brutal beating. Luckily Duggan makes the save. Debeers vs. Duggan will be pure gold Beefcake gets a poetic countout win over Berzerker to get his shot at the crown Nasties and Fantastics will fight another day Manny just couldn't keep it clean. Great segment with Jake attacking Warrior. Went from light hearted comedy to serious drama in a second. Tito gets the win and Funk sends a message. The road to Mania just got real. All your Mania pieces are coming together
