Poor modern Japanese deathmatch guys getting no replies.

Fun show, looking forward to the rest. Lost it at Parv genuinely asking "Does this mean Giant Baba was a cuckold?"

Onita was never really a technical kind of guy, it boils down to what you find entertaining in wrestling. Im not all in on just guys who are creating a story over workrate at all but Onita could definitely magnetize you to his matches for the most part. He made me give a shit and want to watch him versus anyone and everyone despite how convulted the stipulations. He is pro wrestling.

Austin/Regal had a fun sprint strap match on Smackdown I believe

This is a real tough one for me as both these guys are in my favorite list as far as modern guys go. I went with Dragon by a hair.

Id say Martel is a good canidate. The accent definitely hurt him but he had all time charisma as a babyface.
-
I think his mask is definitely awesome, the rest of his gear is okay. He finds a way to be emotive despite being behind the mask but i definitely dont think it hurts.

Id love to see that stuff and hear discussion for sure.

Its a long running discussion of what if when it comes to Windham but I say let's look at what he did. Obviously ridiculous levels of talent but I thought he did well throughout his career. Is it valid to say he didn't live up to his potential? Yes, it is. He still had a terrific career in the ring in all kinds of roles. Easily in my list and it will just be a matter of how high.

Really big Smothers fan. He will definitely make my top 100. There are few guys I enjoy watching more than Smothers. The guy can make chicken salad out of chicken shit and is always entertaining. He understands pro wrestling on a higher level than most. He can be carnie for sure but he always gets the most out of himself and makes opponents look good.

Great job, Childs. That was wonderful.

6:05 Superpodcast Episode #10 - The Only Scottish Mongolian
Eegah replied to Bix's topic in Publications and Podcasts
Great show again, a nice tribute to the Stomper. Dennis of the week was entertaining, I enjoy Al when he is on podcasts. -
The NFL is definitely the strongest brand in American sports. No matter who gets injured or how inept the league office is viewerdship is always good. Fantasy football and betting have made things even better for them and in that sense you could point to stars having an impact. The Patriots have grown in popularity because they win. It happened with the Cowboys of the 90s, Niners of the 80s, Steelers in the 70s, so on and so on. People love winners.

Tag Teams Back Again Episode 14: "Action Personified"
Eegah replied to Ricky Jackson's topic in Publications and Podcasts
Enjoyed the show as always. Tag team wrestling is my favorite thing in pro wrestling so the show was right up my alley. -
Cornette is great when he's just talking history and a fan but when it comes to being critical of anything he is insufferable. New episode was fantastic, the show is so great with the presentation and the way it is shot. Matches weren't great but highly enjoyable and moving along story lines and table setting. Dario is great.

Smackdown was a pretty good show this week. Neville/Kalisto with a decent little match that suffered from a little abruptness, highlight reel with Jericho/Ambrose/Reigns was fun. They are moving the Divas title match along at a nice pace, AJ got to hit the Styles Clash for the first time in WWE after the numerous teases and the main event six man was fun. Show/Strowman will probably be dreadful but could be an entertaining dumpster fire.

So, AJ Styles is really, really small.
Eegah replied to The Following Contest's topic in Pro Wrestling
AJ has never been large so I don't get the whole hub bub about it. He wrestled as a junior forever but over time his ability to get over moved him into an "Ace" role in TNA then along the Indies. I see people are shitting over the fact he wrestles Axel on the SmackDown takings, I'll be cautiously optimistic and say that he isn't going to go out and beat all the top guys but hopefully he works his way up on a win streak. He's become a good enough worker that I think he will do well, add in them obviously poneying up the money for him and people need to pump the brakes on the burial train. -
Still listening to the cast but had to comment on the WCW lucha tapings in Waco. I was at the tapings, which went pretty long but got over well with the live crowd. The attendance wasn't great from what I remember but it was a fun night overall and a few of the matches were okay. I remember Parka being over like a sumbitch.

Titans of Wrestling #58: WWF July to August 1982
Eegah replied to JerryvonKramer's topic in Publications and Podcasts
The Titans never disappoint, another good show guys. Keep up the good work. -
The Rock was higher than giraffe pussy out there. Those pupils don't lie.

Enjoyed the show once again,I like the mix of Johnny and Pete shooting the shit with more relaxed views and the Timothy/Pete detailed breakdowns. Where is the best place to watch the RevPro shows?

Onita will finish highly on my list and I am not a big proponent of the deathmatch style I think he is so exceptional at telling stories in the ring through spots and subtleties. His charisma is ridiculous and he always picked his spots well. It seems like a contradiction to point to nuance in barbed wire exploding ring, etc style to point out but he knocks it out of the park in making his matches seem more epic than they have any reason to be. When it comes to timing heat and the comeback he is great and legitimately one of the 5 most charismatic people I've ever seen in the ring. It doesn't matter that I don't speak his language, his demeanor and pacing tell all there is needed to know. I love Onita.

Yeah, I started to watch the main event of that show but turned it off. Onita is one of my favorites and its depressing to see him and others out there in that kind of environment. Masato Tanaka looked in great shape though. Enjoyed the show, keep up the good work.
