  1. That Stone Cold Podcast with AJ Styles was phenomenal, no pun intented. AJ just comes across as such an open, sympathetic person, who knows what he's been through but isn't ashamed because of it, but rather embraces it as part of what made him what he is today. You can also feel that his family is the most important thing to him. what I was interested in the most was how they would handle his past, with WWE having their problems acknowledging "competition", or things that were/are big that they didn't create. But these two guys were talking openly about his time in TNA, and it wasn't a quick sidenote, it took up quite some time, which i the way it had to be, given his 11 years there. And they even showed some pictures of the time there and talked about eople that have currently falen outof grace with WWE. This really surprised me and was more than I had hoped for. So, again, just a great watch, an hour that flew by and a definite recommendation in my eys.
  2. I'm not worried for NXT at all. They've built up so much good will, nothing's gonna happen.
  3. It would be great if he came back and blamed the people for his violation, ala "by booing and hating on me, you have driven me into this" and became this disgruntled man who wants to beat every beloved face just to shove it into the people's face, culminating with him vs. Rock at WM.
  4. I don't think there's gonna be much, if any, old timers or returns. I'd guees the opposite is the case and there's gonna be quite a few call-ups from NXT, especially for Smackdown. They still might bring someone in for the pop and name value, but if so, my guess would be USA once again putting pressure on them.
  5. I liked ths show. The first matches were all pretty fogettable, but nothing too offensive. Styles vs. Cena had, for me, a lot of hype going in just becuase I'm a huge AJ fan and Cena has sneakily grown on me over the last 1 or 2 years. I can't say I was disappointed, but I got a feeling it could've been better. Although, similiar to fxnj, I really liked the story they were telling, with AJ wanting to shine and really ridicule Cena but realizing more and more just what he is in for. The ending made perfect sense storyline wise, so not much to complain there. The MITB match I found to be spectacular. At this point, I agree, it's hard to come up with something that steals the show or wows everybody. But between that ladder-second rope- flying European Uppercut, that insane KO bump and all the rest, I just found this to be very enjoyable and caught myself popping for the big moves. Well done. I'm still not the biggest Reigns fan, but this nonsensical hating him just becaus he exists and isn't Daniel Bryan is just so bad. The match itself was good, although I gotta admit I was just a bit burned out by then and couldn't fully get into it. So I won't be judging this too much. Dean Ambrose as ne champion? I like it, because I like this unhinged character. And if Raw is an indicator, this could be a really fun run. So, tough start, but beginning with Styles Cena easily thumbs up. Not the best MITB of all time as advertised, but very much enjoyable.
  6. Although he's been improved as a heel commentator on Smackdown imo.
  7. I have to say it's a shame that the lull is happening right now where especially WWE is picking up some steam and there's some real good stuff to discuss about. What's wrong with Bryan's #1 votes though? I wouldn't have had him at the top, but he'd been pretty far up, I'd imagine.
  8. I' d imagine this could work way too well in today's era.
  9. I'd imagine this could well be it for Lawler as a commentator in WWE. And, if he IS guilty rightfully so.
  10. I have not been invovolved in the voting process, just becaus I was a bit too late. Although I don't know if I would have participated, since although I'm an enthusiast I don't have that deep of a knowledge to really have a validated opinion. I can't say if this has changed anything for the wrestling community in general. What I can say though is that is has changed my view. I haven't gotten into a lot of stuff, but I've done a bit of digging and been trying to overthink some things or watch for small details, which has changed the way I watch wrestling and has drastically improved my attention to what I am watching. So, has the project changed anything on a big scale? No idea. Has it changed the way I am watching on a small scale? Definitely!
  11. Ronaldo is an egotistical prick. I hate that guy!
  12. How great is it that Iceland, in their first ever Euro game, getting a draw from Portugal?
  13. Thanks for the better quality, but I'm not gonna sit through that one again. It looks pretty shoot-y, but often times when you read about these times it seems that everything was shoot, so I'm just gonna attribute that to the general feeling of realism that existed back then.
  14. Again 45 minutes ~ that flew by. While I'm not accustomed to listening to one man pods, this is really great. I can only repeat, keep up the good work.
  15. WxW will be starting their own straming platform, WxWNow in August. 10 € per month and unlimited streaming access, payment per credit card od PayPal... Seems pretty familiar. I'm not quite sure yet, but I'm really interested in this. I think one month to check is definitely worth it, form there on I'll see.
  16. I am so excited to see Da Mack in this.
  17. Nominating: American Alpha vs. The Revival (NXT 6/8/ 16) Just a fantastic, fast paced match with innovative spots and a little outside the box of the traditional formula. Surpsrising ending on top of that. Could watch these four guys all day, every day!
  18. That surely was way easier to watch than the Stecher-Caddock matchfrom 10 years ago, and not only becaus of the (way) better quality of the film. It's, understandably, still very basic and for the most time really just amateur wrestling, amped up by a few degrees. But you can see some of the modern mannerisms already seeping in, especially the play with the crowd. While not directly addressing them, Londos and Shikat knew what to do and when to do it to rally them up. What stands out the most to me is the finish stretch, where you really start to feel an urgency and a need to go all out, throwing moves out there that must've been real high impact moves back in the day and were so different from pretty much everything we had seen earlier in the match. Once more I'm really glad to see something of such high historical value and beeing able to get a grip of the foundation of this wonderful sport Sure it's not very aesthetic by todays values, but I do not regret watching this at all and time went by pretty quickly.
  19. Once again a Tekeover delivers big time. The opener didn't do much forme, just too short. It's always good to see Tye though, he is just pure entertainment. That tag match... Gold. I've never been a fan otag team wrestling, I just don't like the fomula which makes it pretty boring to me, most of the time. But these four men I could watch pretty much all night every night, so much energy and chaos, fantastic. Aries/Nak was really, really good too. Not MOTYC for me but still incredibly entertaining. And I loved that they implemented that apron DVD, and the selling just makes it that much more credible. The women's match was fine. Nothing spectacular, but well executed and believable. I adore asuka and could watch her go into rage mode every show. Thanks to that match, or the preview rather, I've been listening to Baby Metal A LOT over the last week, btw. The main event... Yeah, cage matches without blood just suck. I've been a Joe ark for quite some time now and he so much delivers at the moment, he's just fun to watch. I'd imagine Balor goes up now, probably after MITB to support The Club against new Day and Cena. Haven't seen him as a heel yet, so I'm interested to see how that will work out. Overall, like I said, definitely thumbs up and, like all the Takesovers, can't miss.
  20. I've never been a fan of UFC and never watched a whole event. It sure could bring backsome of the specialness? of Lesnar, which has been missing, but only if he is successful. Boy, WWE sure is ramping up those business relationships and becoming more open minded.
  21. This was the first video I've watched after getting up at 11 am and I'm seriously considering just lying down again and think about this all day... Although I gotta say I' almost interested to see how it came to this. Not worth watching anything, but almost.
  22. Gutenberger

    NXT talk

That sitdown interview really felt weird, as if Joe was the betrayed friend and Finn was the whiny little guy that's upset because he lost his favorite toy. I really liked the finish in the tag match. Felt fresh and had a surprise factor to it. I'm looking forward to Takeover, but not nearly as much as the Dallas show. No need to get up in the middle of the night and watch it, it'll be enough to watch it the next day after work.
  23. Now, that's what I call a classic! In all seriousness though, this was tough to watch. I needed 4 or 5 attempts to motivate me to watching this beyond the first 2 or 3 minutes. There isn't really anything I can say about the match, despite it resembling classic amateur wrestling a good bit, naturally, and having no idea who won and who lost. The picture quality is what it is, I don't think one can critisize it, it IS almost 100 years old after all. But yeah, it's really neat to just have something like this and beeing able to access it so easily. Would I recommend watching it? No, definitely not, except you're a super wrestling nerd who has the desire to suck up everything like a sponge.
