WWE TV 06/01 - 06/07 Hiding in my bunker to avoid the collapse of civilization
SirEdger replied to KawadaSmile's topic in WWE
Bryan Alvarez said he received a text from an anonymous WWE wrestler who was backstage when that happened and said that Nia needs to be "f***ing fired" and "there's nobody to go before she cripples or kills someone". -

If I understood correctly, Pat Laprade wrote more about Andre and his family while Bertrand Hébert took care of the wrestling side of things. From the reviews I've seen, I don't believe they missed anything, which isn't surprising to me. They've always been thorough with their research. -
April 16th, 1988 Hosted by: Vince McMahon & Jesse "The Body" Ventura We first see a vignette with Larry Zbyszko and Bad News Brown. Zbyszko is trying to recruit Bad News for a tag match against the Rougeau Brothers for this weekend's Superstars of Wrestling. Bad News doesn't seem really interested but Larry says he can beat them up as much as he pleases. That seems to change Brown's mind but Bad News warns Zbyszko to stay out of his way. Match #1 Randy Rose vs Honky Tonk Man ends in a no-contest. Both men managed by Johnny V, Honky Tonk Man wants Rose to lay down for him and clearly, this doesn't sit well with referee Joey Marella who refuse to have the match going. Honky responds by smashing a guitar on Joey Marella's head and walks off as paramedics check on Joey Marella! Match #2 Bunkhouse Buck & Andre the Giant beat (w/Gary Hart & Bobby Heenan) beat Brantley Tyrrell & Brendon Atwood with Andre pinning Tyrrell with a Sitdown Splash Match #3 The Fabulous Freebirds beat The Thunderbolts & Jonny Noel in a 6-Men Tag Match #4 Special Referee: Ole Anderson Sika vs Jerry Lynn ends in a no-contest after Ole delivers a high knee to Sika's neck! It seems like Jerry Lynn is the protégé that Ole Anderson was talking about on Missy's Manor last week! This week's show ends with Mean Gene Okerlund interviewing The Fabulous Freebirds on the platform. Michael PS Hayes says that they had promised fans that they would walk out of Wrestlemania with all the gold and that's what they did. Hayes also says that what Honky Tonk Man did earlier in the show by smashing the guitar on referee Joey Marella's head didn't impress him. If Honky wants to be a tough guy, Hayes suggests to try doing that to his face and see who'll end up with a smashed guitar. Speaking of tough guys, Terry Gordy & Buddy Roberts are welcoming Demolition's rematch because they're eagered to prove to them that with Gary Hart or not, they won't be able to get the job done. Gary Hart seems to forget that the Freebirds know him as well as he thinks he knows them and they'll be more than happy to demolish Demolition! April 17th, 1988 Hosted by: Gorilla Monsoon & Lord Alfred Hayes Match #1 The Fabulous Rougeau Brothers beat Larry Zbyszko & Bad News Brown when Bad News unshockingly walks out on his partner after Zbyszko accidentally punched him in the corner. Raymond pinned Zbyszko after La Bombe Rougeau. Highlights of what happened yesterday on Wrestling Challenge with Honky Tonk Man smashing his guitar on the head of referee Joey Marella are shown. WWF President Jack Tunney announces that Honky is now suspended for 30 days for attacking Joey Marella. Furthermore, his return match with Michael Hayes for the Intercontinental title has been revoked and Honky Tonk Man will be placed on probation upon his return. Jack Tunney will announce in the next few weeks what will happen with the next contender to Michael Hayes. Match #2 The Crusher (w/Bobby Heenan) beat Brutus Beefcake We then see a vignette with Gary Hart and Demolition, with the Southern flag replica featuring the Freebirds in the backdrop. Gary Hart tells Demolition this is what they lost to at Wrestlemania. This flag represents what is currently tainting Demolition's legacy of destruction. Demolition was recognized as the most destructive tag team in the world and in one night, The Freebirds wiped all of it away. Gary Hart wants Demolition to rebuild themselves back so they can be even more aggressive and destructive than ever before. And this starts with the annihilation of the Freebirds. Gary Hart reminds Demolition that he knows the Freebirds better than anyone in the World Wrestling Federation and he is their secret weapon to bring them back to the promised land. Now, it's time to light the fire to send that into motion. Gary Hart takes a lighter and sets the Freebirds flag ablaze as the trio walks off in the background with the Demolition theme rocking. Match #3 Jerry "The King" Lawler beat Dennis Condrey (w/Johnny V) with the 2nd rope Fist Drop

WWE TV 06/01 - 06/07 Hiding in my bunker to avoid the collapse of civilization
SirEdger replied to KawadaSmile's topic in WWE
Yeah but if I read correctly, Vince sees Lee more as a top heel than a top babyface. I personally don't mind Lee as a heel, I think he can pull it off but man, the pops he had on the main roster so far at Survivor Series and the Royal Rumble, that screams top level babyface to me. That's how he should be booked. -

I wouldn't have minded an MVP or Malcolm Bivens managing Dijakovic, to be honest. -

Yeop, written by both Pat Laprade (who also does the play-by-play for WWE RAW in French) and Bertrand Hébert (who wrote Pat Patterson's autobiography). They're also behind the Mad Dog Vachon bio and Mad Dogs, Midgets & Screwjobs books. Definitely am gonna buy it to read this summer as I really need to catch up on Pat's books. -
Exactly. And babyfaces are referred to as "bon", which means "good guys"

I'm freaking jealous of Henry Cejudo's hair. How come he NEVER messes it up in everything he does?
-
Yeah, I'm gonna post 2 shows again over the weekend. I'll eventually catch up to the schedule lol

While one of them finally found his footing in WWE by going back to his roots as a rap and freestyle aficionado, the other gained benefits from his last chance to prove he could be a singles draw for Vince McMahon and turned into the longest reigning WWE Champion in Smackdown history. This is the place to reminisce about the rivalry between John Cena and JBL, which culminated at Wrestlemania 21 with Cena's first WWE Championship win!

So...scrapping the Jr. Tag League for the BOSJ instead?

Is TNA the worst wrestling promotion in history?
SirEdger replied to Loss's topic in Megathread archive
I think everyone could agree on that. At one time, TNA had the best women's division in North America by a big margin. -
I'm not even sure that was Dexter Lumis in the front row.

That's weird because I had that exact same vibe as I was relisting in my head all the names that STARDOM had lost recently and you can't help but feel that the promotion seems to be cursed as World Class were at that time.

It's heartbreaking to think that Kairi Sane somehow feels responsible for her death and feels like she let her down when it couldn't be any further from the truth. Hope that people around Kairi will surround her with love in the next few days. Asuka also tweeted that she was a victim of cyberbullying in Japan before she moved to the United States.

WWE TV 05/18 - 05/24 The Last Dance was fucking incredible
SirEdger replied to KawadaSmile's topic in WWE
Ugh. Don't give them any ideas, please. -
If I read correctly, the whole fight was about one of her other housemates who had double washed her ring gear from Wrestle Kingdom last January and she got upset at the guy. That's when people started sending her hate tweets.

By listening to her interview on Talk is Jericho, I didn't get the feeling that Martha hates pro wrestling like many people say. She was speaking very fondly about Owen's pre-WWF career with his stints in Japan and Europe and she seemed to genuinely have had a great time with Owen back then. But Owen's tragic death happened and grief can make you say and do some things you can never go back from. As far as the family thing goes, I know that she mentioned that she always told her children to be courteous and respectful when they meet Hart family members and unless I'm mistaken, Oje and Natalya are sometimes in contact with each other (at least, I saw that Nattie is following Oje's Instagram account) so it's really hard to understand what truly is going on. But like @MoS said, if there are two people who can eventually bury the hatchet with each other, it's Martha and Bret. And I sincerely hope for their peace of mind that they do so.

Had to be the weakest Dynamite yet. Although I thought the promos delivered (Jake & Arn and Shawn Spears), those matches had way too many risky useless spots and it might cost them a few participants. If I'm Tony Khan, I'm ripping into them after the show tonight.

Is Charlotte Flair the most overpushed WWE wrestler of the century?
SirEdger replied to KawadaSmile's topic in WWE
That does seem to reflect the general issue with WWE's booking philosophy, doesn't it? -
I can't bring myself to watch that episode tonight and I haven't missed a whole lot of the episodes of Dark Side of the Ring so far. However, I'm currently listening to the Talk is Jericho interview with Martha and if anyone still has a bad perception about Martha, this should change your view about her, for sure.

I feel like they missed the boat on Ricky Starks. Nothing against Zicky Dice but his TV title reign should've last longer.
