  1. Roman Reigns and Jason Momoa used to be pretty similar, before Momoa went full Aquaman.
  2. I don't think Reigns should've beaten Taker at WM first. When Lesnar did that, Roman wasn't even a singles wrestler, he was way lower on the totem pole, and while it took him a while until he got to the superstar status that he has now, Lesnar pretty much became the final boss. Having the same feat as WWE's Shao Kahn is interesting, even more considering they didn't have a proper finish to their 1-on-1 match. Lesnar broke the myth; Lesnar ended his career.
  3. I get the idea, but at 30 years old, he already has the longest reign in NJPW history, is on board to having most defenses, most reigns and also has the longest total days as champ. Losing to Naito at WK would not hamper this "legend" one bit, even more considering his whole route to the top. He is going to stick around for a long time.
  4. I'm just baffled. Naito is no young dude, and the route he took just to get to the point he is - from hated babyface to the most over wrestler in the company (maybe the world) and ridiculous merch seller - already took years. I get that Okada also took many years until he became the company ace and it paid off, finally dethroning Tana, but my God, isn't 4~6 years of character build enough? Do we have to retread the same booking decisions? Having good will is great, but there's only so much of it until people start not caring anymore, if the result is going to be the same. Who knows if they will have the time to actually give Omega a title run before he goes to WWE? They can't capitalize on Shibata due to obvious reasons. Who else is left? Ibushi? Cody?
  5. The size of those glasses of beer, I'm jealous. Great stuff, Gordi!
  6. I don't see Jericho raising attendance on a substantial level, no. He is a big name in Japan when it comes to foreign wrestlers, but I think the biggest player right now is Naito. People were ALL IN for his victory. Imagine if Punk lost to Cena at MitB, or Bryan losing at Summerslam 2013 or Wrestlemania 30. They were going to stay over, no doubt, but it was the best possible time to take advantage of the momentum. NJPW didn't to that. Tanahashi beating White could be compared to Wyatt losing to Cena, but I think it might actually be a tad little worse because it was Jay's FIRST match since his return. It's not even about stopping any momentum, but it pretty much killed any hope of that project even getting momentum.
  7. The Young Bucks go over someone they had no business beating. Why? Tanahashi goes over a returning talent that desperately needed a rub and a good showing. Neither happened. Okada goes over the arguably most over wrestler in the world right now, in what was supposed to be a legendary crowning moment. That's a hat trick of bad booking decisions on the biggest show of the year. Good God. Event itself was pretty good tho, but those matches do leave a sour taste.
  8. Well.. they were friends, so it's not really that weird, even if Benoit di what he did. I'm more concerned about the guy who made that drawing that Jericho reposted on his IG.
  9. You would think that Jericho would be aware of that during his feud with AJ, but alas, he thought he could hang, and Styles had to basically wrestle in slow motion. It was awful. At least this one is No DQ.
  10. So the card goes as following: New Japan Rumble Roppongi 3K vs Young Bucks - IWGP Jr. Tag Titles Fale/Tonga/Loa vs Beretta/Ishii/Yano vs Elgin/War Machine vs Taichi/Iizuka/ZSJ vs Juice/Taguchi/Makabe - Gauntlet match for the NEVER 6-Man Tag Titles Cody vs Ibushi Killer Elite Squad vs LIJ (Evil/Sanada) - IWGP Tag Titles MiSu vs Goto - NEVER Openweight Title Scurll vs Kushida vs Takahashi vs Ospreay - IWGP Jr. Title Hiroshi Tanahashi vs Jay White - IWGP Intercontinental Title Omega vs Jericho - No DQ match for the IWGP US Title Okada vs Naito - IWGP Heavyweight Title Are you guys hyped for this? Honestly, the card looks pretty..... daft on paper.
  11. Fuck, the brazilian commentary on that "incident" is still legendary. "NOT TODAY! NOT TODAY!!" *Schumi passes Rubinho* "Yes today... Yes today?" Also, James Harden. Massive jackass.
  12. Christ. Sami/KO as the discount version of JeriKO does not make for a good pairing and this fucking main event angle is making EVERYONE look dumb
  13. SmackDown's tag team scene might be the only reason to watch the show until they decide to give Mojo Rawley SOMETHING to do. Also, nice to see Becky back.
  14. Tricky, cowardly heel and badass shoot-style-y face is probably one of my favorite combinations, and those two have good chemistry. Hope they have a PPV match down the road.
  15. Wrestlemania 34 pretty much needs Brock/Roman II. People are going to boo but they know it's going to be balls to the walls amazing. Also, Cena/Styles IV could be an option for the SD crew. Not sure if they need to have surprise entrants this year either. For the Women's BR, I would go for Asuka or the much speculated Ronda Rousey making her debut and winning.
  16. What a good match to have in your first day of the year. Samoa Joe is interesting because his pacing is very different than from most wrestlers in WWE, but he compensates by having the presence. Roman, as usual, also brings the fire and the selling, and the stipulation added to the match no only brought some suspense and nice spots, but it kept things fresh. After avoiding the Coquina Clutch, Reigns gets the win - his first one against Samoa Joe - after hitting the Spear. Great stuff.
  17. Also, shout out to Goldust being in a 205 Live match and being the best performer there.
  18. What a fine episode of RAW. Some matches got bigger length, which helped the show actually. JJ/Cesaro, Joe/Roman (as usual) and specially Asuka/Bliss were a blast. Crews/Wyatt was okay, which is better than what we usually get from Bray. Braun and Roman remain the most over names on the show.
  19. Following up on Brazilian Pro Wrestling, another one of our biggest names - to the point he kind of became a cultural icon, also appearing in many movies, and his look became a slang of its own in some circles. Ted Boy Marino!
  20. Gotta give some credit to English. His main roster career seemed DOA, and without a partner he got stuck with his old singing gimmick. He made that work and now that he has a partner that can enhance his act, he's doing way better.
  21. I would actually agree with him on this one. While one million dollars is indeed a good ammount of money, there are some places that have ridiculously high costs for basically everything, and considering how few wrestlers know how to manage their finances (JBL and Sting are the ones that come to mind), 10 million seem like the minimum for the mind to be at ease.

    NXT talk

Gargano is getting one of the strongest pushes in a while. Expecting some high level angle in the main event of the next Takeover. Do you guys think Aleister Black needs the NXT title before going to the main roster? In terms of presentation, I think he, much like Drew McIntyre, is already made and IMO that is the most important part.
  23. Those chants of "RUSEV DAY" were deafening. And we all thought that he would never recover from the Cena program. You mean the Ziggler program, right? Losing to the ace of the company is still a much better program than whatever was that feud with Ziggler.
  24. It is really weird to see how big this crowd is, specially since pro wrestling is almost non existant in Brazil. Match starts around 8:00, and weirdly enough, it is structured in a round system - even if it is a cage match.
  25. It has been over a year since I made this thread, and we are almost in 2018. How much has changed? Is KO one of the least interesting acts in WWE right now? He's been put in prominent positions since his debut yet just cannot have engaging matches or promos.
