Teddy Long is also in this year's class. Between him, Angle, and the Rock 'n Roll Express, not a bad class at all.

I thought this match actually ranks pretty high in terms of EC matches - which usually are great. AJ Styles had one of the greatest Elimination Chamber performances ever, even if he seemed to slow down at the last five minutes of the match, after that insane crossbody from Cena. Seemed to be hurt. Corbin flat out murdering Ambrose also not only served for a great violent spot showcasing how Corbin can be this monster but also sets up a program between the two for the IC belt. Overall, I'd give this **** 1/2

They just set up a Dean vs Corbin program for the IC belt in the EC, it seemed. Also I am fucking HYPED with Naomi's victory. My favorite female wrestler in the WWE, by far.

Yes, they were. Poor Crews,he's almost at Steve Blackman levels of not being over

Mojo getting good crowd response warms my heart. I hope he makes it big down the road.

Card rundown: Pre-show: Mojo Rawley vs Curt Hawkins; Kalisto/Apollo Crews vs Dolph Ziggler; Becky Lynch vs Mickie James; Natalya vs Nikki Bella; Tag Team Turmoil: American Alpha © vs The Usos vs The Ascension vs Breezango vs Slater and Rhyno vs The Vaudevillains; Randy Orton vs Luke Harper; Alexa Bliss © vs Naomi; Elimination Chamber: John Cena © vs Bray Wyatt vs The Miz vs Baron Corbin vs Dean Ambrose vs AJ Styles

Babyface Bo Dallas came way too early. He felt like he would fit way better in the 80s than in 2013 NXT where the crowds were smarkier and don't usually like that type of character.

This match was great! It was, to me, a very good blend of WCW multi-man fuckery with lots of highspots, and of WWE produced drama, with a bit more storytelling. There were some few stories coming into the match: Mustafa Ali's spot at first belonged to Tony Nese, who got injured days prior. As such, Ali had a match in that same day against Daivari to determine who would get that final spot in the match, and there was doubt if he could have enough gas to go through two matches in the same day. Noam Dar and Cedric, still feuding, had some pretty heated exchanges in the ring, and costed each other the chance of facing Neville at Fastlane. However, the highlight was Gallagher, Not only he had some fun spots like diving with his umbrella, but also kept selling the leg throughout the match, which was a key point against the other last man in the ring, TJP, whose finisher is a leglock. With some great selling, the drama was intensified to great effect, and with a hot crowd, his win felt so good. Rating: 4 1/4 *

[2017-02-06-WWE-Raw] Roman Reigns vs Samoa Joe
KawadaSmile replied to ShittyLittleBoots's topic in February 2017
I don't think that, right now, there is anyone better at making other people look like credible threats than Roman. Did it with the Wyatts (twice), did it with Balor, did it with Strowman multiple times, and now with Joe. Instantly made Joe look like a huge badass and a sure fire main eventer, at least for this year. It was a very good decision to not burn this match with a clean finish, too. -
Watched only the final hour today. Main event was a really good match and it featured a good post-match. Braun is the best.

NOMINATING: Kazuchika Okada © vs Minoru Suzuki - NJPW The New Beginning in Sapporo (02/05) This might be my favorite Okada match ever, and I thought it was a much better match than the WK11 main event as well. It does have some faults, like going way too long, but in this occasion it has more to do with both guys milking the spots for maximum effect than flat out filler. Minoru Suzuki just working the shit out of Okada's leg and also flat out punking him made for an actual compelling story of overcoming the odds, almost Cena-esque at points. Okada needs to work on his offense though. When he's up against someone that can be as stiff as MiSu, his strikes look like a soft breeze.

I remember feeling very uncomfortable watching this. I mean, I guess it was the point, but I'm not sure if I like my wrestling making me feel like I watched a snuff movie, really.

Surprisingly great match. Both big guys don't even wait for the bell to ring before they start trading blows. It plays out like a true heavyweight match would, with big bombs and big punches, and I found it surprising that this never really had any downtime at all. The story to this match that WCW referee Nick Patrick was in cahoots with Test, as he was a member of the Alliance, served for some interesting drama too. The crowd were totally into the nearfalls, with Kane kicking out of some of Test's moves being put over huge by Jim Ross. All in all, a relatively short (just a little over 10 minutes), fast paced and sweet match between two big guys. Good stuff.

I would easily rank style over economics, if that's a thing. Mat-based wrestling with "softer" spots surely would make someone have a longer career.
-
Meltzer said today that the reason that so many mexican wrestlers are well into their 50s and 60s and having long careers is not due to style, but due to economic necessity.

I can see Gallagher transcending the Cruiserweight Division, really. Was the only one who got a spot in the Rumble, interacted with New Day a few weeks ago... They might be onto something with him.

Harper actually getting over and people chanting his name is something that legit warms my heart. I can only imagine the pop when he finally hits the Sister Abigail.

Fuck, Harper teaming with Cena to face Orton/Wyatt is some match I never thought I wanted until now

I thought Joe's debut was good, or at the very least interesting. He got some moves of his arsenal in, which is good, and the idea of him being Triple H's brute henchman is a bit interesting, despite him losing at Fastlane being a very foreseeable future. However, I didn't think it got that big of a reaction, at least not as big as one would expect from a surprise debut.
-
Didn't watch Raw yesterday, catching up right now. Jesus Christ this Seth Rollins segment with Steph would work so much more better if Rollins were a heel. He was saying some pretty fucking horrible stuff. Stalking someone else's children is not really a heroic thing.
-
It's not even that Cena/Corbin was bad, but the finish felt a bit rushed. Given how they barely had Cena celebrating after winning, I would think they had to pack things up due to time constraints. I think that Corbin, with the proper build and time, can have a great 2007-esque match against Cena, really. The End of Days has never been kicked out of, so there's already a story into the match. As for Miz/Maryse vs Cena/Nikki, I wouldn't mind it either. Wrestlemania always was a more spectacle-oriented event, and a fun tag match like that can work very well, specially when the 4 people involved have some nice stuff going on for them.
-
If you told me that Orton vs Cena headlining Wrestlemania was a thing seven months ago, I would indeed be annoyed by the idea. But when you have Orton at his most interesting since at least 2009, and Cena being his usual amazing self, things change. I get that for some people who don't watch the product on a weekly basis the idea might seem a turnoff, but considering how well they've kept Orton and Cena away since the brand split, it's going to provide an interesting program, to say the least.

Reading some posts in Wreddit, people seem to be MISERABLE with this Rumble. The fact that Roman got the #30 entry is being met with such ridiculous hate that I wonder if people watch WWE only to complain.
