  1. Io Shirai vs. Meiko Satomura An epic clash between two of the best. There's a great amount of stiffness, and the energy and crowd reaction was unreal. ****1/2
  2. Hamada is in custody after being arrested for "stimulant" use, announced by WAVE today.
  3. Danshoku Dino has a mean punch when he's not humping around.
  4. ICE×∞ Championship: Miyako Matsumoto © vs. Karen DATE This was good! Miyako might be one of the best on the roster when it comes to creating compelling main events, she understands how to make those big moments feel meaningful. The execution wasn't always there, especially on Karen's end, but it's to be expected given her inexperience so I forgive her. ***1/2
  5. Future of Stardom Championship: Starlight Kid © vs. AZM Another amazing Future of Stardom match. This had intense pacing with some hatred behind the moves, especially those dropkicks. That counter in the finishing sequence was brutal and unexpected. ***3/4
  6. Current Blast Exploding Bat Death Match: Io Shirai & Tam Nakano vs. Oedo Tai (Kagetsu & Sumire Natsu) This was incredible, the action was fast-paced and exciting, and the tension building into the bat spots and the explosions themselves created such an unsettling atmosphere. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time, loved this. ****1/2
  7. SWA World Championship: Viper © vs. Jungle Kyona Great match, Kyona gave a spirited performance working underneath, she's the hometown hero so the crowd was strongly behind her and those last-minute counters she was making were great. ****
  8. World of Stardom Championship: Toni Storm © vs. Mayu Iwatani The opening segment with Toni mocking Mayu's injury was silly, but this was otherwise a great match. The callbacks to the previous encounter in Nagoya (where Mayu got injured, forfeiting the title) were done well, with Storm working the injured arm and the dropkick that caused the injury being a dramatic moment they built to. I also like how Mayu's frustration led to her rushing and making mistakes. Strong Zero being this dangerous, lightning-fast move reminds me of Mariko Yoshida's Air Raid Crash, loving how Toni utilizes it. ****
  9. Sumire has been killing it this year. I've always enjoyed her work, but since leaving WAVE I feel she has reached a high level. She's become one of my absolute favorites to watch, her stuff with Oedo Tai is gold.
  10. SWA World Championship / ICW Women's Championship: Toni Storm © vs. Viper © This is probably the best gaijin vs. gaijin match I've ever seen in Stardom. It was physical, the pacing and move progression felt natural, even the outside portion didn't feel tacked on. I thought Toni's superhuman no-selling was consistent with how she has been presented in Stardom. She lost anyway, so it didn't really matter in the end. Extra 1/4 for Toni hitting an ultra-stiff hip attack. ****
  11. I wasn't feeling the pacing and structure of the match, I don't find Cody to be an interesting lead, esp. not against the Best Bout Machine. I went into it expecting an Omega carryjob with wild spots and big bumps, but he was on cruise control. And Cody's bad selling of Omega's offense didn't help either.
  12. Ehhh? I didn't enjoy this at all, but it's nice to see that some people did!
  13. ICE×∞ Championship: Hiiragi Kurumi © vs. Miyako Matsumoto Miyako's a comedy worker, but she wrestled an epic main event with drama and tension. Her performance was unreal. I love how they played off of Miyako's previous ICE×∞ win (8 years ago) during the finishing stretch, that was superb storytelling. The submission struggles here were fantastic as well. Excellent match. ****1/2
  14. Regina di WAVE Championship: Misaki Ohata © vs. Arisa Nakajima Incredible main event. It has the same parity as their SEAdLINNNG match, but the action was more intense and diverse. The chaotic outside brawl, the heated flurries, the little cheap shots being thrown - all of the best Big Match Arisa tropes are here. Excellent work from these two. ****1/2
  15. Wonder of Stardom Championship: Io Shirai © vs. Momo Watanabe This was amazing from start to finish - Momo more than held her own in her first singles main event at Korakuen Hall. I really liked Io's aggression at the start, and Momo's rally with those vicious kicks. The focus on Io's bad neck and the crossface chickenwing stuff was brilliant. Io's comeback has Momo bleeding all over the place so she definitely earned it. Incredible match. ****1/4
  16. Chihiro Hashimoto vs. Takumi Iroha Good competitive bout where both wrestlers came across strong. Chihiro feels like a big deal everywhere she goes, she has a magnetic aura. The matwork in the beginning was good - Chihiro's cartwheel into the ankle lock was probably my favorite moment of the match. They kept the action exciting leading into the draw, and threw some great Germans towards the end. Great stuff. ***1/2
  17. Saki-sama vs. Marika Kobashi I didn't expect this to be such an intense match. This was definitely Marika's best bout - she pulled through big time with a spectacular underdog performance, and Saki-sama was the perfect opponent. The action was captivating and the finish was highly dramatic. Incredible match. ****
  18. TOKYO Princess Tag Team Championship: Miracle Apricots (Yuka Sakazaki & Syoko Nakajima) © vs. NEO Biishiki-gun (Saki-sama & Azusa Christie) Saki-sama's presence is on another level, you can sense the trouble Yuka is in when she's facing her during the closer. Yuka put up one hell of a fight, but Saki-sama was too strong. I thought everyone did great here, even Syoko, who can be hit-or-miss; she took a good beating from Biishiki-gun. Good match. ***3/4
  19. Arisa Nakajima vs. Misaki Ohata I was excited for this match-up after the Best Friends-Avid Rival trilogy, and it had some great counters and head-drop suplexes, but it's lacking in drama and the action was too by-the-numbers to be anything special. It's a solid back and forth with no emotional depth. Here's hoping the WAVE rematch is better. ***
  20. Loser Leaves Unit - Gauntlet: Oedo Tai (Kris Wolf, Sumire Natsu, Kagetsu, Hana Kimura & Tam Nakano) vs. Queen's Quest (AZM, Io Shirai, Viper, HZK & Momo Watanabe) This was an amazing match, the stakes are high and you can feel the tension. Sumire's sleazy heel character has quickly become one of my favorite things in Stardom - she was so good in this. The Kagetsu-Viper segment had breathtaking spots, and Hana-HZK was a heated back and forth that ends with an insane bump. The final between Momo and Tamu was rough at times, but they fought with a lot of heart and the crowd was hot. ****1/4
  21. AZM vs. Kagetsu What a great match, easily the best AZM singles performance so far. Kagetsu doesn't take AZM seriously, until AZM shows that she can be a threat. AZM's selling and offense were top notch - I didn't see that corner springboard coming! The juji gatame finish was unexpected too. Good stuff. ***
  22. ??? Oedo Tai right now is second only to Io in popularity and sell the most merch, they should be pushed to the moon. Tam alone has surpassed the names that you mentioned completely in popularity and merch sales.
  23. Stardom is very conservative in their booking, I wish they would deviate from their formula sometimes (like HZK winning the white belt from Io, something unpredictable!). It is mostly a promotion I enjoy for the matchups, although I am also enjoying the bizarreness of the new Oedo Tai.
  24. Too many singles matches on their cards, it becomes monotonous.
