Queen's Quest vs. Oedo Tai Challenge Series: HZK vs. Kagetsu HZK was going all out to put down the big bad wolf of Oedo Tai, but Kagetsu had a couple of tricks up her sleeve. This was great. HZK was roughhousing Kagetsu in grand fashion, and delivering one of the best singles performances I've ever seen from her. Hope she's able to maintain this momentum. ***1/2

Wonder of Stardom Championship: Yoko Bito © vs. Takumi Iroha It was refreshing to see Iroha work a 'high drama' style match, and it felt like a return to form for her. The action was great for the most part; they managed to keep things fresh for the 30-minute draw. I didn't think the B Driver near-falls were as effective as they could have been, Bito doesn't put that certain 'finality' into the move. Iroha on the other hand was doing a fine job of that. A good match, but there were a couple of things that prevented it from being great. ***1/2

Regina di WAVE Championship: Rina Yamashita © vs. Yoshiko It feels surreal to watch a joshi event that takes place in the same venue Okada and Tiger Mask W fought in. This borrowed a lot from the SEAdLINNNG match, but since this is Rina's turf she was the focus of this story. The action was intense and hard-hitting, and the closing lariat battle was epic. ****1/4

Sendai Girls World Championship: Chihiro Hashimoto © vs. Meiko Satomura I don't think this came anywhere close to their match last year, but it was still a great match. Satomura was trying everything to suppress the thigh-monster, and Chihiro's comebacks had amazing displays of strength and athleticism. There was a distinct lack of hip attacks that I was not a fan of, but Chihiro's powerbomb is terrifying, and this match does its job in establishing it as another move her opponents need to watch out for. The flipping senton from the top rope was also fucking nuts. ***3/4

Aasa Maika, Emi Sakura & Hana Kimura vs. Aja Kong, Cassandra Miyagi & Hikaru Shida Super enjoyable trios match once it gets past the awkward opening (it was cute, but still...). The action flowed well; fun spots and match-ups. Aasa's charisma really shines in these big venue Senjo matches. ***1/2

TOKYO Princess of Princess Championship: Reika Saiki © vs. Mizuki This started off rough, but they found their rhythm quickly. I was impressed with the pacing; the comebacks were timed well, and the submission sequences were very compelling. There's a dramatic moment where Itoh Maki motivates Mizuki at ringside -- it's fucking amazing. Itoh has such a strong presence and it heightens the intensity of the match. Great main event! ****1/4

Goddesses of Stardom Championship: Oedo Tai (Hana Kimura & Kagetsu) © vs. Queen's Quest (Io Shirai & Viper) Oedo Tai's heel tactics™, Io's peril session, Viper's hot tag and chemistry with Kagetsu -- all solid. I still don't like Viper as a member of QQ. She's the same Viper! She's made little effort to fit in with the group. ***1/2

Wonder of Stardom Championship: Mayu Iwatani © vs. Yoko Bito Mayu's a great bully, always enjoy her workover segments. She was stomping Bito's head and hitting these nasty kicks. I thought this was an improvement over the Stardom x Stardom match. They kept things tight and focused. ***1/2

Toni is not booked for the next tour as of now. I'd rather see the title go vacant than have an absentee champion (esp. when that champion is Toni Storm).

ICE×∞ Championship: Risa Sera © vs. Maya Yukihi This caught me by surprise -- I didn't know Maya-obachan had it in her. Her leg work was great and she had all of these clever counters to Sera's offense, and those kicks and knees to the head were brutal. Sera's comebacks were kind of selling-free, but her offense looked strong and much better than it has looked in past defenses. Can't say enough about Maya's control segments. She needs the belt immediately! ****1/2

[2016-03-12-Stardom] Mayu Iwatani vs Momo Watanabe
aguakun replied to donsem43's topic in March 2016
High Speed Championship: Mayu Iwatani © vs. Momo Watanabe This was magic. Momo puts on a spectacular performance in her first title match. Mayu wrestled like she had some place else to be until Momo shows that she is to be taken seriously. Everything just falls into place here, it is mesmerizing. ****3/4- 1 reply

5★STAR GP - Finals: Toni Storm vs. Yoko Bito The Strong Zero kickout here was not as effective as it could have been because Toni and KLR wasted the spot earlier in the mid card, which was total nonsense. This was definitely a Toni Storm match; a lot of movez were happening and not much else. This also had one of the weakest crowd reactions of the show and it's the finals of the tournament. The rolling piledrivers looked cool, though, I gotta say. bad

5★STAR GP Red Stars Block: Kagetsu vs. Mayu Iwatani Kagetsu tries to murder Mayu by pushing the entrance gate on top of her. Mayu's neck ends up sandwiched between the structure and a guardrail, it looked horrific. This was good, these two obviously have amazing chemistry and they put on a fresh installment to their feud. ***3/4

5★STAR GP Blue Stars Block: Jungle Kyona vs. Tam Nakano The crowd was lively for this one. Tam is green, but she makes up for that with her charisma. Kyona's leg gives out when she lifts Tam for her powerbomb finisher and the move falls apart. She doesn't know how to lift. She needs to work on lifting! ***

5★STAR GP Red Stars Block: Hana Kimura vs. Kagetsu This was a strong performance for Kagetsu, she gets the crowd into the match with her shenanigans. 1stRING was eating this up. The in-ring was solid, nothing remarkable, but the story was very compelling. ***3/4

Ironman Heavymetalweight Championship: Yuu © vs. Nonoko Yuu has a dangerous arsenal of chops, judo throws and submissions, but Nonoko has her powerful boobs. They were brutalizing each other in grand fashion, and Nonoko shows that she can be just as vicious as Yuu. This was a spectacular 7 minutes. ****1/2

Miyu Yamashita vs. Yuki Kamifuku This was everything I had hoped for, just Miyu putting the beatdown on this awkward rookie. Her strikes were stiff and punishing, and it felt like she wasn't holding anything back. Kamifuku shows fire as Miyu keeps pushing her, and she lands some nasty strikes herself. Nice little match. ***1/4

TOKYO Princess Tag Team Championship Tournament - Round 1B: Miracle Apricots (Yuka Sakazaki & Syoko Nakajima) vs. Konkatsu-gun (Azusa Takigawa & Nonoko) This was really entertaining. Konkatsu brought kitchen utensils as weapons and they were amazing on offense. Nonoko introduced the devastating Oppai Driver, which is a Fire Thunder piledriver into her boobs. Her high wrestling IQ shined here. Azusa's new attire is just incredible. ***1/2

TOKYO Princess Tag Team Championship Tournament - Round 1A: Itoh Respect Army (Itoh Maki & Mizuki) vs. Muscle Strikers (Reika Saiki & Miyu Yamashita) The atmosphere here is insane; the crowd is hanging on every movement, and the performers were playing to it with some very dramatic moments. Mizuki & Itoh deliver one of the best underdog performances I've seen this year and 1stRING was going nuts, it was magnificent. ****

5★STAR GP Blue Stars Block: Konami vs. Tam Nakano Very good match between these GPS girls. Konami was the aggressor, and Tam was selling those kicks. This had a feel of tension and urgency, and I was impressed with the raw emotion/conviction coming from Nakano. ***1/2

5★STAR GP Red Stars Block: Hana Kimura vs. Xia Brookside Very surprised that this turned out to be a good match. The pacing was there, the counters were neat and well-timed. It was interesting to see Hana try to out-grapple Xia as that isn't her usual style of wrestling, and I'm liking the brutality of her octopus hold. ***
