  1. NEW JAPAN 1980s - This is hard because if I use one of the big multi-man matches, I lose tons of great wrestlers in one fell swoop. However, since I have 175 matches to choose from, I think I might be able to get away with it. I am going to go with a mix of juniors and big heavy hitting matches with one tag to keep the card strong. I may do 2 or 3 more super cards with different matches using New Japan. Jushin Liger vs. Naoki Sano (7/13/89) Buzz Sawyer vs. Victor Zangiev (8/5/89) Dick Murdoch vs. Abdullah the Butcher (7/7/83) Tiger Mask vs. Gran Hamada (11/6/81) Tatsumi Fujinami vs. Kengo Kimura (1/2/87) *Intermission* Akira Maeda vs. Yoshiaki Fujiwara (8/29/87) Shinya Hashimoto vs. Vader (4/24/89) Riki Choshu & Masa Saito vs. George Takano & Super Strong Machine (3/16/89) Andre the Giant vs. Stan Hansen (9/23/81) Hulk Hogan vs. Antonio Inoki (IWGP League Final) (6/2/83)

    Current WWE

So I have Time Warner and USA has been frozen on a One-a-Day women's pill commercial for the last 15 minutes.
  3. I was thinking Kane but I don't want to go down that road either.
  4. I don't thik there is a better way unless you speak Spanish. Also, maybe Chicana or Satanico was historically the captain of the Infernales or Texano was the captain of the MDM. You would need a historian to fill you in.
  5. http://placetobenation.com/goodwill-wrestl...to-1980s-lucha/ I spoke with Phil Schneider and Kris Zellner and they explain why it is mandatory that you pick up the 1980s lucha set.

  7. I have too much on my plate with the 80s sets and yearbooks to invest my time into the current stuff. I saw a couple of hyped matches (couldn't tell you who was who) and wasn't blown away. I think one was Tanahashi and another guy was Oba or Odu or something. Much like Richards-Elgin, I have a disconnect with why people think that shit is good.
  8. Agreed. I have no interest in current New Japan and there are G1s from the past that interest me way more than the current one. I still need to see that Lucero match.
  9. There is no way that August of this year is the best in wrestling history.

  11. Can't wait until I am doing Best of FLIK comps.
  12. No. The Muta-Armstrong match was a WCWSN match that was hyped the week before and got mixed reviews at best. The 5 minute notice thing as far as I can tell originated with Scott Keith and is bullshit.

  14. The fact you have Lawler in your Tier 2 makes me not like you anymore.

  21. I put this in here instead of the Steve Austin thread but it reinforces that Austin may be the best interview out there today. Way more entertaining than Flair's shoot interview and he comes across as a likable guy which was not the case in the shoot interview.
  22. The AWA set is a little easier to do because the ace shifts over time. I have Bock-Curt one hour draw as number one but for a ten match card, I went with a shorter main event. It also frees up Curt to have another match on the card. I save the blood for the 2nd half with a couple of indecisive finishes, a decisive world title outcome and the fun manager match. Of course... Midgets. Paul Diamond vs. Pat Tanaka Little Tokyo & Lord Little Brook vs. Cowboy Lang & Little Coco Mr. Saito vs. Curt Hennig Ken Patera & Crusher Blackwell vs. High Flyers Rick Martel vs. Harley Race *Intermission* Stan Hansen vs. Leon White Midnight Rockers vs. Buddy Rose & Doug Somers (4/20/86) Lord Alfred Hayes vs. Bobby Heenan Jerry Lawler vs. Kerry Von Erich Nick Bockwinkel vs. Wahoo McDaniel
  23. My condition is that if I do the lucha set my reviews have to be read with Yakety Sax on in the background. I read what Will said as "You know, I don't think your money is worth putting up with you for three months," as kindly as possible. Alright, here's my compromise. If someone promises to do what khawk did over at DVDVR putting stuff into context, then I will absolutely do the set. I'd assume that'd be who? Phil? My post was not meant to discourage but I don't want you suffering either. If you aren't going to have fun watching lucha, what's the point in participating? I forget who it was at DVDVR years back who was shitting on every Texas match on the set and I thought to myself "this guy is a troll or is just torturing himself." In terms of context, you'll have Alfredo and Kris Z to give you context. I'll also do viewing podcasts with Kris as historian giving background and pointing out who the guys are.
  24. I can't find a reason someone would think an unmasked Buddy Rose wasn't good.
  25. It will be on my AWA card also with the world's greatest atomic drop ever of all time.
