    Hogan is he worst babyface ever kayfabe wise. Yet another exemple here. The heel turn was so long overdue when you think about it, Hogan's character is so unlikable.

    Dupree isn't French, he's Canadian. Andre the fucking Giant was French. I would love to see a good French douche gimmick done *right*. I know they have got the French Stallion signed, but they already gave him a shitty name so I have no hope (Sylvester Lefort ? I mean, really ?). I doubt anyone in WWE actually knows anything about France beyond clichés, so there's that too. But damn if I could not create a complete French hipster douche like you see in Paris. Or an altermondialist leftist coming out to Manu Chao's "Clandestino" or an old Berrurier Noir tune, telling Americans to shove their capitalist way of life up their ass and shit. Or a arrogant, higher than thou rich pervert who pathologically goes after every woman (you know who I'm aiming after here). There's so many good gimmicks you can do. Oh, I guess the next in line will be a guy wearing a beret, carrying a baguette and a French flag who listens to accordion and surrenders a lot. *sigh* (well, now that I think of it, they did had a guy with an actual legit French name, and who has been a giant douche for years... hum...)

    Yeah I know. My question was rethorical. In 1993 WCW spended more money to get Gene, Heenan and Buffer than they did taking care of its loyal workers. No wonder they got frustrated. Buffer was of course the worse.

    I usually enjoy Flair vs Hogan, and depsite the fact Flair looks like a complete bitch I actually enjoyed this one too. One thing I liked was that Hulk kept on selling his leg during the hulk up, which I thought was a nice touch. Of course Hogan worked the match like he was doing the job, which is only half-true since he doesn't really does the job. One thing that hasn't been mentionned is WHY MICHEAL BUFFER WAS BROUGHT BACK AFTER TWO HORRIBLE CONSECUTIVES FUCK UPS ? He first announces that Flair is the new champ. Then announces that Hulk keeps the title because it's a DQ. And they gave big money to this idiot for years and years after this shit ? Oh, Bischoff... Anyway, this Clash really was the opposite of the previous PPV and the sign that Hogan was gonna fuck WCW doggystyle until the end. First really awful Hogan angle, first show totally taken hostage by Hogan (not to mention refusing to do the job), first official apparition of Brother "let's main event Starrcade together dude" Bruti, Flair looking like a total dumb bitch, the announcers being forced to oversell left and right. Yep, this is the day things go awry. It didn't take long.

    Nothing match, again, despite having both Funk and Dusty, who's still fun to watch at this point (as opposed as when he came back in ECW I mean). Buck is actively bad here, ignoring Funk feeding him Dusty's arm and being is usual weak-ass kick-punch machine. The post match really is the debut of THA MONSTER MENG, which can be considered a good or a bad thing, depending. The most puzzling thing to me is why Arn isn't working the match ? You know, Arn, the guy who turned on Dustin and jumpstart the involvment of Dusty to begin with. This makes no sense to not have him in the match, as Buck is a done deal at this point. I'm sorry, but this is the most overrated feud in WCW (and I say that only because it's been pimped as being great both on the yearbook threads and on the WCW thread. There you go. This really underwhelms me a lot. I hope I'll still love the Wargames match)

    Jimmy Hart does a great job plagiarizing himself, including using some of the same exact lyrics from the original HTK song. But seriously, a video for the HTK in 1994, this was the sign WCW was not going into a good direction. The writing was on the wall for guys like Austin, Pillman, Badd, Cactus (who was leaving anyway) who had busted their ass for years and saw guys like Flair & Arn hanging on their spots and Hogan's friends coming in mass. Not surprising that these four would be on the forefront of WWF's renaissance in 1996.

    Oh God. The first horrible Hogan angle. Maybe I should keep a count. Hogan's acting is godawful. It's so overdone and oversold it's not funny. Well, it is funny as a matter of fact. Gene : "This is the most horrifying thing I've never seen" The masked man surely hit Hogan's knee from under his knee. This is not a horrible attack, this is a horrible angle. And it's still going on as I'm typing. And I laugh quite a bit. "This is the worst nightmare of any wrestling fan" says Gene. Yeah, you don't say. SERIOUSLY ?

    I think he's safe and easy to work with, that's probably where his rep comes from. As a geek viewer, Kane is mediocre at his very best, and mostly shitty and boring as fuck. Has been for the last 15 years. Made quite a career out of a goofy gimmick that had no long term value at first. Gotta give him credit for that I guess, I never though Isaac Yankem DDS would be a WWF lifer. (and yes, his flying clothesline looks like complete shit. Not enzuigiri Tenryu bad, just complete shit bad)

    A co-worker point of view is something that has really nothing to do with our way at looking at things. If I was a worker I would probably rather work with Jesse Ventura and have a night off and a good payday rather than work with Jerry Lynn and have to work my ass off on an indy show for shitty money. And I'm not even talking about safe/unsafe here. If I'm a worker, I'd rather work with someone who hits light as hell or a master at stalling rather than with a mark for stiff chops, kicks and big spots, doesn't matter how much snowflakes I will get in some geek's Top 50 matches of the year. Get heat, get paid, go home with no injury, that's what would matter to me as a worker. Take good care of me, get the most of the least, don't fucking hit me in the face with your feet thank you. Not the same debate at all. (and it really depends on the workers frame of mind too, as I would guess those who love working with Jerry Lynn aren't the same as those who love working with Kane, or at least have different kind of reasons for enjoying each one of them)

    Dustin cuts a good promo, but just isn't on the same level as his father is. Which is kind of a bad deal for him, as Dusty is looking more like the big superstar (which he was).

    The big news to me isn't Kobashi's retirement, which is both long overdue and way expected at this point. The big news is that Zach Arnold is still doing wrestling coverage in 2012.

    Building to Clash at the late of August, the company still looks like WCW of old, Hogan notwhistanding. Not a lot of competitive match on TV, but that has been the case all along since Flair got the book (although it's much better than in the awful 2/3 of 1993), but some pretty good stuff regularly thanks to Austin, Steamboat, Regal, Badd, Pretty Wonderful, Stars & Stripes, Dustin, Arn, Funk, Flair, Taylor... The Rhodes vs Stuff Stable got more fun since Dusty and Funk got involved, as we get real serious heat, but there's still too much Buck on my TV. Meng is a pretty cool body guard character thus far, comes off really bad ass. AUstin vs Steamboat is a good feud on top on the midcard, but Regal doesn't get his weekly TV title defense match, which is disapointing. The tag team division doesn't look that good anymore (really depleted of strong talents) but Pretty Wonderful finally got into a nice groove. I like the fact that Orndorff always kept a way to remain interesting or funny, as he got older he add his goofy maneurisms before dropping his forearm which really doesn't look that far off the people's elbow in spirit. Plus you can notive the fact that he actually cares about his work and tries his best to make it work with Roma, unlike Arn who had a noticeable lack of interest, and as a result, Orndorff/Roma works much better than Arn/Roma. I must admit that Flair/Sherri isn't a very good mixture indeed, although I always love Sherri at ringside fucking up babyfaces. But in promos it doesn't work that well for Flair, I do agree. But, you get some hints that Jimmy Hart & Hogan are getting more power backstage : Nasty Boys work as faces. Hacksaw Duggan debuts. Honky Tonk Man is coming soon. Now Duggan I can understand, after all he wasn't that old and his act was over with the crowd, but the HTM ? A one shot wonder gimmick who hadn't been relevant since 1990 (to be kind) ? WCW is still WCW, but for how long...

    Holy shit ! Thanks for the laugh ! (yes, that would make François Hollande the Sting of French politics : he's already a bit of a flop on top although it's not his fault and probably won't be in the HOF when all is done, but he's dear to my heart )

    The whole Dustin Rhodes vs Bunkhouse Buck feud is a complete snoozer for me. Yes, there has been that very fun bloody brawl at the PPV, yes, there has been the fun tag match thanks to Arn & Funk, yes, there has been an awesome promo from Dusty, but as soon as Jimmy Golden enters the ring, they just lose me. Easily one of the most boring worker I've came across. Nothing really good, nothing really bad, nothing engaging at all. Yawn.

    I still don't see anything particulary good about this feud. I have seen countless Dustin vs Buck matches at this point, from Saturday Nights, Worlwide, Main Event, PPV's, and apart from the first über bloody gimmick match, nothing was really good. Not really bad either, just there. Jimmy Golden just is a very boring and mediocre worker. Nope, this doesn't do anything for me. Buck sell his leg for, well, he doesn't sell it for a second after he goes back on offense, and I find his kick/punch offense really mundane and unengaging, as is his whole character. Why wasn't Terry Funk working more at this point ? I could live without watching another Jimmy Golden match, bored me everywhere I've seen him, and it's pretty telling that the only match that looked special was all gimmick and blood, and a fantastic performance from Dustin.

    A pretty good case of the whole being lesser than the sum of its part. The match really doesn't have much of a structure, and does meander a lot. Sting is annoying to me working with Flair, as he does way too much superman no-selling, especially aggravating on stuff like the delayed vertical suplex. Sting peaked with Vader, and already isn't as good as he was then. Austin is a bump machine at this point, and Steamboat doesn't seem to be that over anymore, although looks like he could go another ten years of working. The Sherri bump at the end is insane.

    One thing I like about the C-shows like Wolrdwide, is that the announcers were so much laid-back. You can hear Schiavone had much more fun working with Jesse than he did with Heenan too. I didn't realize before that Jesse worked during the beginning of the Hogan era, I thought he was gone by then. I'll sure miss him when he will be.
