  1. We talking about this year with Styles? I liked that moment alot, but c'mon no way it's even close to Flair in 1992.
  2. He looked Jericho-size.
  3. That's pretty pathetic on WWE's part.
  4. That visual of Wight's hand being almost the size of Floyd's face almost had me convinced he should have pursued boxing more. Well, that and the guaranteed huge payday he would have had for at least his first couple of fights. I'd be curious to hear Bix's opinion on the whole thing since the article was non-biased journalism. Was Hogan playing with his friend's wellbeing in order to make some money? Does SoBe have a case and does Wight owe them a ton of money? Are Hogan and Wight no longer friends?
  5. Bix, if your big article next week is even tangentially related to your Hogan/Gawker stuff, I'm never going to trust you again.
  6. If we get a second go-around, I'm game for avenging my loss in the tiebreaker round last time.
  7. That Ricky Steamboat "Sidekicks" appearance sounded so made-up, I'm shocked it actually happened. How is this not something that is constantly brought up when discussing wrestlers on non-wrestling TV shows?
  8. Didn't know where else to put this, but is it widely known Chavo wrestled about 11-12 matches for WWF in the summer of 1987? Mainly against Jose Estrada and Haku (!). Plus a handful of taped appearances where he didn't show and was replaced by Outback Jack, Steve Gatorwolf, and Lanny Poffo. Was looking up something else on The History Of WWE and I was shocked when I noticed that.
  9. If that was directed to me, that doesn't really...address anything I asked. Huh? You asked why would Vince care who Bret wanted to drop it too. I said "why not?" and gave examples of the lack of heel depth the roster had. Hence, "why not" let Bret choose who he loses it to, there wasn't a plethora of better options.
  10. Why not? Who else did they really have as heels at the time? Tatanka? Jeff Jarrett?
  11. Watched the first half of the first episode of WWF Championship Wrestling from 1983 and holy crap, what a delightfully random show this was back then. So far: Ray Stevens vs. Curt Hennig - Nothing compared to what this may have been if Hennig was 10 years older and Stevens 10 years younger, but still really cool. Unusual ending too. Jimmy Snuka in a squash at the height of his popularity. The screech let out by the audience when he explained that his hand sign meant he loved the fans was amazing. Buddy Rose vs. Barry Horowitz in a really fun Rose spotlight match. Tiger Mask vs. Mr. Saito - I was watching this episode purely because I knew this was on it, but I still wasn't expecting Tiger Mask to pull out such an impressive dive in 1983 WWF. Still got a Billy Graham squash, Rogers Corner, Samoans squash and who knows what else, but I am so digging this stuff right now.
  12. Extremely fun episode. Now what are the chances of getting Russo on as a followup?

I didn't know we were supposed to be rooting for WWE to die under some misguided idea that that wouldn't be a horrible thing for wrestling. Totally not what I meant and strange you'd even think that considering the context you've also quoted. Do me a favor and don't reply to any of my posts in the future. I'm totally done interacting with you stemming from the fantasy booking and everything having to be confrontational. Give it a rest.

This is why WWE will never go out of business. What short memories we have. And no, I don't really care that Roman Reigns got the title. They've done nothing to make me care about him. Cool moment tonight, good match too. But let's not pretend we're watching in a vacuum where it's all about "the moment". I'm the guy that used to get over the moon excited about Nexus' debut and Punk's pipe bomb and Brock's return. They've lost any goodwill on my end.

Yeah, seriously. I'm so sick and tired of everyone treating WWE like they're a preschooler finally able to string together complete sentences. This talk of "Pro Wrestling Is Still Alive!" and "WWE can still work the fans" is overblown. Excuse me for being cynical, but I'm sorry, 100 crappy Raws in a row kinda outweigh them doing the logical thing for once. If the next month stays on course and the Rumble looks to be another good show, I'll be the first to give the WWE all the credit it's due. Until then, I'm not ready to drop confetti.

This is after over a year of dropping the ball. We really giving WWE a medal just for one moment where they did something good?
  17. http://www.cagematch.net/?id=2&nr=4524&page=4&search=fujinami At least five times. Looks like not televised.

    WrestleMania 32

I can't think of one matchup that looks intriguing, save maybe Cena-Taker. Saddest part is they used to be able to make most matchups into at least something back in the day, but not anymore.
  19. We gotta see those bar mitzvah centerpiece pictures.
  20. I'd just like some consistency. Like every Saturday morning, 3-5 new classic shows are put up. Then we'd at least not have to worry that the door is closed for another year.
  21. What heel turns do you think were the most understandable or relatable? Have any achieved genuine pathos? A real tragic quality?
  22. I'm not saying he's wrong. I totally agree with him. But the fans are the ones that suffer in this case. So yeah "Bret screwed us". But it's a totally understandable screwing.
  23. Isn't it more, Bret screwed us?
  24. Not to rain on the parade because I am also thrilled to see this stuff posted, but doesn't it look like there's going to be very little connection between episodes other than NWA World Championship Wrestling? Like Mid-South has random episodes featuring future big stars like Warrior and HBK spreading from '82 to '86. Are they going to fill in all those gaps? SMW is all 1994 right now so I guess they may upload that entire year eventually. This is awesome, but man I wish they'd just do it all in order so we can watch storylines and angles over the course of weeks and months.
