PWI is reporting that Cena v Undertaker is on the books for mania. Well now. also they are still planning on HHH v Rock
-
I like the stuff she does online with the vines and other videos. It just comes across so terrible on TV for some reason
-
and for those who don't like Rollins he could still be used on TV even when he's injured to cut those promos every week
-
Dave Meltzer @davemeltzerWON 28m28 minutes ago I hope Brock has a phone in whatever Canadian wilderness area he's at hunting, because it's probably blowing up right about now.John as well. Vince has to be borderline psychotic
-
holy shit what a crap time to get hurt for Seth. Looks like he will miss mania also. I know a lot of people can't stand him but I feel bad for the guy. Vince and the writers must be shitting themselves right now. As mentioned above this will somehow lead to HHH and Stephanie being pushed even harder because Vince is mad that his champion got hurt. I would expect that they will beg Cena to come back early now. Probably Brock too. What a day

Steve Austin has been critical of the six man tags on his show several times so it's not like it's just typical "internet fan" complaining. He thinks it's lazy booking to put a bunch of guys feuding into one big match instead of advancing separate angles. I used to love the six mans on Raw and Nitro in the late 90s but when you do them practically every show they start to lose their shine. Sheamus seems to be in one every single week

2014 Rumble was worse. In 2015 at least they were trying to (in theory) create a new star even if the execution was handled the worst way possible. 2014 was the company stubbornly plugging their ears with their fingers while turning their backs to the live crowds. Both were disasters but 2014 was pure ego and incredibly short sighted
-
Steph/HHH need to go. I mean they are so stale and overexposed that I cannot stand listening to their voices anymore. They are just awful, the worst random 6 man tags featuring people who are vaguely feuding champions losing non title matches constant rematches wrestlers not being angry when they lose big matches wrestlers not celebrating when they win big matches Vince McMahon's refusal to adjust his criteria for who can be big stars

ESPN is doing a 30 for 30 about Flair. Man this could be awesome
-
Unless they pull a swerve looks like it's Reigns v Rollins for the title at Survivor Series. Have to think Reigns wins here or he's really entering WWF choker version Lex Luger. And have to love them going on about a new era of stars and then start the show with a Steph and HHH promo. Those two are never leaving TV Taker will probably show up tonight to set up his SS match. No Cena or Orton

Your fondest Survivor Series memory (1987-1999)?
Strummer replied to JaymeFuture's topic in Pro Wrestling
I just remember the first one in 87. I was 8 years old and in awe that there was a PPV other than Wrestlemania. We had to go to my uncle's house to watch it and the bunch of us watched it in a little cove he had in the upstairs of his house. What sticks out is the tag match and Bam Bam being able to hang with the monster heels in the main event. There was an older relative of my cousin watching with us who was rooting for all the heels and ribbing us the whole night about how awesome Honky Tonk man was and how Andre would crush Hogan. 1990 is also a show I watched on a loop as a kid. Real feel good show -
Wyatts v Taker/Kane/Reigns/Ambrose?
-
so Scott Keith has a source that told him will be the mystery opponent for Cena. Well maybe not a source just some dude that e mailed him
-
there's the other Keith hypothesis that anyone could have played the Hulk Hogan character. I don't really agree with that at all but if they had someone *booked* exactly like Hogan that person could have got over huge. I guess there is a difference
-
yeah the SD/Sika match aired on Primetime in early 88. I had that episode on tape for years and years. Gorilla and Bobby did dubbed over commentary. IIRC you could still faintly hear the french announcers in the background
-
I like the Summer/Tyler pairing. I'm sure he'll be programmed with Ziggler for the next few months
-
Shield reunion?!?!?!
-
so there are rumblings that Rock is coming back before the end of the year. My first thought was he would be replacing Cena as top babyface while Cena's gone. I doubt they use him in December during the holiday doldrums period so I would think he will be the major selling point of Survivor Series. That's if it goes down... of course

WCW never seemed to drop pop culture references as much as WWF did. I was watching some match from 91 WCW and Larry Z drops a William Kennedy Smith rape trial reference and poor Tony is left flabbergasted as to what to say. I guess Heyman tried to work in pop culture references but with the WWF team it was pretty constant. Especially when Raw started

Dave on twitter really putting over Bayley as the potential next big star in the company but seems to be implying that Vince's narrow vision of wrestling won't allow it. Saying WWE doesn't realize important things right under their nose. Almost exactly the same as the Bryan situation

yes but he always got to beat up a manager (Genius, Heenan) and get to dominate before the heat segment. (ie throwing around heels like they are nothing) Or got to take out a bunch of heels after a match. Don't think he was ever sold as much as an underdog as Cena and Roman are being now. If they had Reigns destroy the entire Wyatt Family during a match or had Cena take out all of New Day they would be worried the crowd would turn on it. You would think that they would be booking Roman like a more athletic (and talented) Ultimate Warrior in the ring for someone they want to be an ace. They probably would like to but they are afraid of the crowd turning. And they're probably right. I think the days of Hogan beating up the entire Dungeon of doom by himself, Austin taking out the whole WCW roster and Nexus bouncing like pinballs for Cena might be over. Hell over the summer Brock got beat down by Kane, Jamie Noble and Joey Mercury. And he was one of the few who was allowed to destroy heels
-
it's obviously goes way behind this and is an internal problem but maybe they are afraid to have Cena shine and embarrass the heels because the crowds will turn on him even more. Again they are booking Reigns, the classical muscle bound Vince McMahon babyface,to sell for entire matches and getting thrown around like nothing by Braun Strowman. Vince McMahon 25 years ago would murder Vince McMahon today for allowing that on his TV
-
The fact that they pushed New Day so strong at the end makes it even more annoying that Stephanie scolded them earlier in the show
-
Oh man they are going to do Cena v Dolph. They are really going to play off TD
-
Big E gonna take the gold!!
