He died ten thousand deaths and even knocked Mean Gene off his game. You would have booed him off the stage if you were there. Jimmy said he didn't vibe with Vince backstage.
-
In their defence, they badly wanted Willie Mack for this project. In general, I can't believe how much traction this got from popular culture websites even with Corgan involved. Their TV deal aspirations have probably been killed by this alone.

NXT is in full-on work mode currently. The NXT Injury Report is a pretty funny mix of real and kayfabe. Also, NXT is on a kick generally of announcing talent injuries or leaking them to the press to cover or conceal the real injury. Especially for concussions. Elsewhere I'd be shocked if WWE released Oney as they aren't releasing anyone.

I can't blame Kevin Von Erich coddling his kids given what happened to him. And Ross and Marshall were born into a lot of wealth - money wise and with this vast patch of land in Hawaii they can live off forever. All that very much forms their work ethic and approach to life. Typical Von Erich spacey-ness too. Yeah, I saw the Tom Lawlor MLW departure announcement on Twitter I thought it was weird. Then got to last week's MLW episode late. I don't know if people commenting on the story watched the episode as it was clear to me at least it was a prelude to a heel turn. Even Rich Boccini said "what has gotten into Tom?" when the announcers did their on camera after the parking lot video with Tom. A standard Wrestling "tell".

Back to MMA is the most likely scenario. He's very conflicted about everything. He's 36 and with a family. A lot to consider.

This is really opening a can of worms and this is ProWrestlingOnly. But the murky circumstances surrounding the disappearance of an ex-girlfriend several years ago reared their head coming into last weekend. Along with Teddy Hart's association (he lives with Chasyn) with convicted paedophile and major Florida indie wrestling fixture Chasyn Rance. A troubling situation with lots of side elements. MLW has written Teddy out of storylines for now.

I strongly suggest not to be. They are offering talent a lot of money and their signing budget for 2020 is larger than the 2019 one. Also, Marty has signed 3 month and 6 month length deals in the past. He probably will be worth more to AEW or NXT in March or June time say when both promotions are looking for something new or a boost. AEW and especially Cody are running though matches and feuds than they probably should be. If he joined "tomorrow" he could get lost in the mix.
-
Marty teased that at the end of a recent Vlog of his. ROH has interesting plans in 2020. They haven't been announced yet so I will just say expect a lot of live TV specials. But yeah I have a lot of concerns.
-
Marty is most likely staying with ROH. Why there wasn't been much talk or posturing about going elsewhere. There's still lots of time for things to change and if is leaving we'll probably see that play out at the TV taping the night after ROH Final Battle as he needs to drop the six man titles.

Did you guys read the good/bad news about the Puerto Rico tape library?

I spoke to someone in NXT today they had a meeting addressing morale yesterday I think. There was a meeting addressing pay recently and NXT management will be sitting down with talent individually as early as this week. ACH wasn't going to be one of those people. William Regal is one of his biggest fans. They didn't forget about him. They were doing a slow burn thing with him and Keith Lee in vignettes on Youtube. Seemingly they were about to form a team or one was going to turn on the other. Believe me, that's not the case here. I talked to him just before he reported. He was very realistic about things and just wanted to do a nice midcard spot and be a role model for children. Basically did his art and now was happy to be a sports entertainer. He has issues currently going on beyond Pro Wrestling. WWE is currently looking to get him help.

Yeah, Marti Belle is very liked by fellow wrestlers and promoters. Someone who is easily to deal with and not a downer. Has everything going for her except she has two left feet in the ring to a profound degree.
-
Pro Wrestling and especially WWE being institutionally racist isn't even a debate. But to me, the ACH situation is down to NXT talent not being listened to (a very big issue regardless of race or gender) and Triple H's management and his team's deficits. But more so as his ACH's mentor Mark Henry said on Busted Open radio this morning ACH is going through a lot of personal issues and things at home at the moment. The shirt situation was just the final straw. Mental health and social media are two big issues in the industry currently it will only grow. Twitter storms and dramas are fun and easy to get swept up in the moment. But a lot of times there's a real person behind the tweets and they might be in distress.

Really? Where?

Such a great match. Still stands up HUGE and deserving to be #4 in the DVDR Mid South project.

No idea why people here thought Meltzer would be against it. He's been very strong on Wrestling promotions needing a real TV in the US to draw for at least two decades. NJPW USA is the definition of cart before the horse. I know people who have been involved in early versions of this project. New Japan's home office's decision-making is slow and arrogant to be a fit with US demands. And that's not counting time zone difference.

WWE TV 10/14 - 10/20 Randy Orton is the Tom Brady of WWE

Yeah, social media numbers seemed way down. Fewer people on my timeline were live-tweeting it than a standard Tuesday night. It was always expected this show would show a big decline. -
I always heard the original NXT UK contracts were so slapdash and rushed - basically a copy and paste of US-based WWE/NXT contracts that they broke UK and EU employment law.
-
I just think that's his personality. The WWE roster hero-worshipped him - and were really bothered by how Vince would treat and scream at him.
-
And when your favourite NXT Superstar gets called up they get booked like shit on the main event. They do! But I thought this week's show was much better paced and told a few stories/planted seeds for a change.
-
You are opening up a can of worms. Put she went down an odd path for a while exploring her Deathmatch Wrestling persona which ended up with threatening someone in jest with cannablism which got her banned from Twitter for life.

Maria is very well liked by her peers on a few hours every weekend show per show basis. But there are obvious red flags. Has nothing to do with why ROH did run with her - they legit signed her with no plan seriously. Maria harkens back to Chyna and Nicole Bass. Someone is struggling with her self identity and place in the World. Worthy of a documentary and luckily there is a short documentary.

WWE TV 09/30 - 10/6 Posting quickly to avoid politics-inspired subtitles

Willing to hear every and all account of NXT. But I think the most stripped-down and simple microcosm of how 2014-19 era NXT can be tracked by completely dated and samey is the music choice. The can compose the next Takeover theme in your head. Just by the composition of the roster, NXT has to change and move on from the white dudes with beards era. A photo from February: -

Very, very much so. I'd imagine Vince wants Raw to be taken off his hands so he can deal with Smackdown and XFL in 2020. Heyman is climbing while Triple H has to for arguably for the first time prove himself. I think Triple H has done a solid job with NXT BUT he has been playing on "easy" mode or in a sandbox the last 5 years. The indie/quick fix signing well has largely run dry it is time to put what he has signed together to be greater than the sum of its parts.
