Ditch
TV is definitely their big thing.
kjh
I would rank both AAA and CMLL above Dragon Gate. Both are on Televisa, whereas Dragon Gate doesn't have national TV in Japan. CMLL still draws over 5,000 fans for its Friday Arena Mexico shows. AAA still packs mid sized arenas for all their TV tapings too.
Ditch
That's what I expected was the case. Is there a relevant #3 promotion in Mexico?
kjh
Not really. Both Perros Del Mal and IWRG are really struggling to draw at the moment from what I can gather.
KrisZ
IWRG has weekly TV and they run every week so they are the defacto #3 in Mexico and it doesn't hurt that they put on the best in-ring work.
Ditch
DG does a couple 5000+ attendance shows a year and a couple in the 1500-2500 range a month. How about IWRG?
KrisZ
Arena Naucalpan is like 2,800 at full capacity which IWRG doesn't sellout a whole lot but they do pretty good for twice a week.
Tim Evans
If they ran more, the number 3 promotion would probably be DTU. They get some pretty good crowds and sometimes way better than IWRG.
KrisZ
Dave Lagana is currently tripping me out on Twitter and this is a running commentary for the night I guess so I'll edit in when needed. Â What can pro wrestlers learn from Lady Gaga? And how she handles her brand? #IWantWrestling Do you think Lady Gaga waited to be told how to get attention? Or do you thin she experimented? Use your Brand! #IWantWrestling BRILLIANT! Lady Gaga's entrance to Red Carpet ties into her performance tonight to build hype to tune in. #LadyGaga #Grammys #IWantWrestling Yes... Lady Gaga is "stealing" the gobbledy gooker. Think THIS will work out better for gaga then gooker
sek69
Well as weird as that sounds, she did manage to come up with an entertaining gimmick to "get herself over" so I guess there is some lesson to be learned. Not sure how that helps anyone in wrestling when WWE wants everyone so cookie cutter.
Bob Morris
"Spoilers" for The Chaperone. This was posted on the F4W message board and made its way to Wrestlecrap.  http://www.wrestlecrap.com/newinduction1.html  While the poster says the lines aren't really from the script, every time I see Triple H's face, I'm going to think of the words I'M RAY BRADSTONE. kjh
--Which of these events was worse? John Cena being fired based on a stip and never missing a show 28.9% WWE constantly making fun of Vickie Guerrero as being fat and unattractive 18.9% TNA making Jeff Hardy world champion while under indictment 14.3% Tommy Dreamer bleeding all over the place in front of his young daughters 12.7% Chair shot on Rob Terry 11.6% Stand up for WWE campaign 11.4% Eric Young concussion angle 2.2% Um, I don't know what to say about these poll results. It wasn't like Steve Austin wasn't fired based on a stip and never missed a show - was that the worst event of 1998?
El-P
It wasn't like Steve Austin wasn't fired based on a stip and never missed a show - was that the worst event of 1998? Well, it was pretty stupid too though, and it was really from that point on that the booking fell apart and became unbearably Russoesque, with shitty card after shitty card. KrisZ
That won because that was a big talking point on all the WON shows for the month it was going on. Just that simple.

It wasn't like Steve Austin wasn't fired based on a stip and never missed a show - was that the worst event of 1998? Â It was just as stupid in '98, with the difference being that WCW was around doing stuff that was even worse, so it stood out less. Plus, the promotion was hot, and stuff like that is easier to get away with in that case. Â That said, TNA making Jeff Hardy their champion is way way way worse than anything else listed here. El-P
Yeah, at the same time WCW was running Hogan vs Warrior which may be the worst major program the promotion ever did until this point. So the fact that über hot Austin was still on TV went unnoticed as far as stupid angle went.  More bizarre is the fact that the Vickie stuff is second in the poll. kjh
I wasn't really suggesting that it wasn't stupid, but it's not something that was morally offensive like all the other suggestions. Firing angles are corny to begin with and if anything the damage has already been done from all the years of trivialising major stipulations. smkelly
Man, Michael Cole needs some time off. He buried Natalya last night (Josh too). I don't think she is an ugly or fat woman. Do you guys think she is overweight? At any rate, the mocking of her was terrible. Â Oh, and The Rock's twenty-minute promo was awesome.

Strummer
Yeah I feel bad for Nattie. Even Josh was burying her. Vince was sending a message last night  the only real problem I have with the Cole angle is with him laughing and burying some of the matches. That's okay on NXT but not on RAW and SD
sek69
Something happened with the Harts, Harry and TJ have disappeared off the planet and Nattie is getting brutally buried on commentary whenever she appears. It was one thing for Cole to be doing it, for Josh to be all "ha ha, I agree with you" in response is just killer. According to Dave on the last WON radio, something happened but he can't get anyone to discuss exactly what it was. Â Maybe one of Vince's WM plans that fell through involved Bret, and this is Vince's way of getting back at him for saying no? It seems like the kind of reaction Vince would have. Feb 7th Observer: Don’t know details on this other than it came from someone who would know that there is something to the obvious speculation regarding the last week of the Hart Foundation. This included David Hart Smith being pulled from the Rumble a few days earlier (which may have just been opening up spots for either the decision to put Orton and Ziggler in or when the Nash deal was finalized–Booker in the Rumble was decided upon some time back); Natalya being called fat in an angle and then losing her title out of the blue and the Hornswoggle Attitude Adjustment being done on Tyson Kidd. Unless it is something like the heat the Hardyz & Lita got around the time of the original break up angle it has to be Bret related.
Ditch
Vince has some serious issues with women. It's incredible that the boss of a huge corporation never has it explained to him that calling any woman who isn't rail-thin a hog/pig/fatty in the year 2011 is beyond the pale. I know it's pro wrestling and all, but still. I'll never forget the ridiculous crap they did with Molly Holly.
El-P
Maybe Natalya screwed Natalya. But yeah, what Ditch said, the Molly Holly bullshit was ridiculous. I don't know what Natalya looks like, but I have no trouble believing she's perfectly fine looking.
