The Henry segment is exactly why you don't always need to rewrite scripts or be unpredictable. As soon as Cena was out you knew where it was going. It was further telegraphed through every shot during Henry's promo, and not the least bit surprising when it climaxed. And it was the best angle in months.

I would say the Daniel Bryan thing was a work, but they seem to have run that kind of mid match 'injury' storyline several times in the last few months, surely they wouldn't do it yet again?

The Henry segment was fantastic as others have mentioned - it's just a shame Cena was out there from the start, as that kind of telegraphed where it was going. Awesome acting by Henry though to make me sort of believe it was a genuine retirement.

Very interesting vibe in WWE. A lot of faces aligned with heels (Punk/Heyman, Ziggler/AJ). A ton of tweeners (Henry, Ziggler, Punk, Orton, Vince).

I thought it was an extremely well put together episode of Raw. Nothing was especially great, and the matches were fairly bland, but most of the segments hit the spot (Henry/Cena, Steph/AJ and Punk/ADR were all very entertaining), there were surprises that didn’t seem forced, like the Henry turn and the return of Christian, a lot of intriguing story developments were hinted at, a lot of guys got time, there were fun cameos from the likes of Vince.

Three and a quarter hours is still way too long though. I could never just sit and watch an episode, the only way to get through it is to have it on in the background while you're on your laptop, and that is never a good sign. The ridiculous amounts of adverts don't help.

Edit: And here comes Lesnar to top it off. Seen about 40-50% of Raw's this year but this is by far the best, perfectly paced and a load of interesting stuff.

That Bryan incident had to be a work. No one would he had gotten back up with a severe neck injury, much less Orton attack him after a doctor comes out to end the match. Furthermore, I think medical personnel would have been more frantic. But that was a cringe-worthy bump and very stupid on Bryan's part. Still, it was telegraphed that way before hand. I just don't know why he'd get the green light to do that. Very stupid.

The Bryan thing looks like it's a work then. Sure fooled me. A night of brilliant acting it seems. And Kaitlyn.

That really was a great episode though, easily the best three hour show there's ever been. This and the PPV have given WWE a sense of direction and I'm interested. Everything seems to be nicely falling into place. And there's still Bray to come! Hope they keep it up, there's nothing better than the WWE firing on all cylinders

Do you think they waste a Lesnar match at MITB?

Maybe, who knows how many dates he has this time and when they plan to use them. Could be a slow build to a Summerslam match, but I can't see why they would start it this early and what they plan to do with Punk between them and now.

I wouldn't get too excited - signs are pointing towards a major HHH/Vince feud over the company. Another 'McMahon power struggle' storyline could suck life out of anything, especially with Trips as the focal point. Vince has been fun lately but HHH has somehow seemed to get worse.

Great show that built up the summer programs quite nicely. Maybe a top 20 RAW of all time. Henry segment was incredible.

So Stephanie has insinuated the last three weeks that she doesn't care about her husband or children yet she implied AJ was a horrible role model for girls

Coming as a guy who LIVED for wrestling magazines as a kid, I can't even imagine what the audience is for them now. The internet pretty much killed my need to buy anything but PWI Almanacs after 1996 so I'm not sure who is still buying them in 2013. Especially at $5 an issue.

I don't care for this Punk/Lesnar feud we are about to get. I know I'm just going to get bashed, but I don't buy Punk as a credible opponent against Lesnar. I don't care if he just had the title for 400+ days, I don't care if he's one of the most protected guys in the WWE, I don't buy it. I've seen Lesnar end Heath Herring's fighting career with one punch that broke his orbital bone. At least Cena & Triple H don't look like scrawny kids when they get in the ring with Lesnar. And the "well Eddie wrestled him" comparison doesn't work for me either. Eddie might have been shorter than Punk but he also was muscular and ripped. And his offense wasn't built around fake MMA strikes.
