Stiva
So, the Wyatt's have arrived, taken out Kane and already there was some smart-asses chanting "Husky Harris" at Wyatt. Some people, man. I can see people being underwhelmed but anything short of a Nexus debut style angle would have been a disappointment after all the hype.
hammerva
I don't know how you can be underwhelmed by that debut. Those guys aren't supposed to be flashy they are suppose to be scary. And knowing WWE fans, when one set of marks do it then all of the marks do it. I hope they appear at Money in the Bank because I think the Philly crowd might give them a chance Although I will say I am worried about this Roman Harper guy. I have heard he sucks in the ring and that debut didn't help matters. Luke (Brodie Lee) Harper and Bray Wyatt doesn't worry me at all.
Guest Staples
Good thing WWE had Christian (and the Usos) beat the Shield a few weeks ago. Christian has been a roll with those big wins over the Shield in the RAW rematch, Randy Orton and Kane! Seriously though, have they interacted at all since then? Dylan Waco
Man I fucking LOVED the Wyatt Family debut. Legitimately creepy and disturbing stuff. I honestly hope they run and ruin one of the MITB matches
hammerva
Someone posted on Twitter and he is so right: "No one hates wrestling fans more than wrestling fans". by the way, not sure how Curtis Axel losing to Jericho helps him out but since they do that with everybody in the WWE I guess it isn't surprising
Strummer
great debut for the Wyatts. Baltimore always has shitty crowds
anarchistxx
Attacking an established roster member for no reason other than to gain heat is such a lazy way to introduce new characters, so it fell a bit flat for me. They should have gone the full way and had some satanic ritual or overblown promo/segment, or at least a vicious backstage attack. Throwing Kane into the steel steps and posing doesn't seem a very creative way of debuting, especially since every major heel stable since Nexus seems to have had the same 'attack random wrestler for no apparent reason' introduction. Why not invent some back story or give some motivations?
Strummer
btw, the Shield v TOF was a fun little match. Maybe TOF shouldn't have got that much offense in but it was damn good
sek69
The Wyatts fucking ruled, but I might be biased since their theme is my favorite WWE produced music in a long time.
Johnny Sorrow
Throwing Kane into the steel steps and posingActually, they threw him into the stairs, then they picked up the stairs and brained Kane with them. And yeah man, that's the best in house music in forever.
Strummer
from Scooter's rant: You’d think this would be awesome sauce, but the crowd doesn’t really care, and it’s hard to blame them considering Bryan beat up two guys way above his paygrade on the babyface scale after weeks of getting treated like an afterthought. um what? Bryan has been treated like an "afterthought" the past few weeks? Is he even trying?

TravJ1979
I enjoyed the Wyatt's debut as well. I thought the entrance was extra creepy with all of the jerky camera shots, but then I realized it's just my PC not being able to process HD video in a normal manner. During that opening speech on the Titan Tron, Bray was borrowing heavily from Charles Manson rhetoric; especially the "family" and "sheep" stuff and definitely the speech pattern. I'm not going to get too excited though because gimmicks like this do not translate well once they start running ropes and applying holds. It loses all of its intrigue. It may be a crazy suggestion, but I wouldn't have them wrestle for at least six months and just use them sparingly in attacks and guns for hire bits. I'd like to see them include a couple of disenchanted wrestlers to "brain wash"which would allow them to have guys work matches that aren't them directly. The pessimist in me sees them turning into Team Godwinns 2013 with some Divas doing skits with them about how to act in a nice restaurant. The WWE has a long history of turning monster heels or psychological characters into comedic fodder when they don't work out or outlive their usefulness. Examples: Khali - From Monster to Khali's Kiss Cam and Hornswoggle's best bud. Big Show - From Monster to "Showster, and Showkishi" (Granted, he got out from under that, but he still did stupid stuff like a sumo match with Akebono at Mania) Mark Henry - World's Strongest Man to Sexual chocolate and lover of Chyna and Mae Young Brodus Clay - Vingette's of a beast coming to WWE only to get a modern Rikishi Tensai - Monster from Japan into Brodus' dancing side kick Santino - World beater winning the IC title from Umaga in his debut and then being # 1 comedy wrestler of the decade Kane - From ripping doors off cages and setting his brother on fire to therapy sessions using his attitude era back story for laughs Waylon Mercy - This probably most resembles the Wyatt's and Spivey was past his prime and probably ahead of his time since he was surrounded by clowns and Samoan Sumo wrestlers. Goldberg - Fans still believed in this guy and they put a wig on him and not much else
Jimmy Redman
Including Santino of all people in that group is strange. Before he went heel he was a fan from the crowd, and then a huge underdog who was Italian and dated Maria. Nothing about him was dangerous or cerebral. Goldberg - Fans still believed in this guy and they put a wig on him and not much else That whole "They ruined Goldberg because Goldust put a wig on him once" talking point is the worst "if ya tell it long enough people will believe it" non-story ever. I've actually read people saying shit like "They made him wrestle with a wig!" Khali had a great run as a monster and now at the end of his career he does comedy. It's nothing new. Kane's career was revitalized by the Hell No stuff. Tensai didn't get over. At least now he's having fun. Brodus as dancing monster got him over where as "Boring monster #5 " would have sucked. Santino? Show and Henry have done it all and are now total ass kicking monsters. And Mercy was broken down and couldn't go. Also, Doink and Yokozuna were fucking awesome. And why immediately go "Sure it's cool, but it'll suck eventually?" Don't be a Debbie Downer.
MikeCampbell
I could see them doing with the Wyatts what they did with Kane, and more recently the Shield. Have them only show up sparinginly to beat up whichever poor sap happens to be in the ring at the wrong time, and then make a big deal out of their official debut matches. I think Kane was the perfect first target, since he's one of the longest tenured members of the roster, and that's how he got his start.
sek69
Anyone else notice when Christian came out for his match, for a second the video wall at the entrance said "Michael Mcgillicutty" before it changed to the right one. At first I was like "live TV, lol" but then I wondered why they would even have that still loaded up considering he's been repackaged to a different gimmick. Wyatt sitting in the rocking chair and watching his guys dismantle Kane was awesome and the whole entrance is wonderful, from the music to the complete darkness. rovert
The thing that has been knocking around in my head in light of the Husky Harris chants is that we can't just shake our fists at the "Smarks" can we? Wyatt was in a well remembered faction and appeared in a WWE video game. He also had a name that is both terrible and chantable (Micheal McGillcutty isn't). WWE has also created culture where the crowd has been given significant editorial input into shows. WWE communicates the message to fans over and over that they are here to entertain YOU and they regularly hand the control back to the viewers via online voting and shit like that. goc
This is not some new internet age phenomenon. Guys who had runs under shitty names/gimmicks have always got crap about it from the crowd. Terry Taylor got rooster calls for years after he stopped being the Red Rooster. I remember being at a WCW house show in the early 90s and a bunch of people including my Dad giving him a bunch of crap about being the Red Rooster. cm funk
The Husky Harris chants were really awful. Just the worst of "smart" fan culture personified there, because the "monkey see monkey do" shit that exists in WWE crowds might actually turn that into a thing, and that will bury this gimmick. WWE should probably just cut it off before it starts and do some vignette or promo where Wyatt explains why "Husky Harris" isn't here anymore I liked the Wyatt debut well enough. It wasn't perfect, but the way they built it up nothing was going to live up to the hype. The targeting of Kane was interesting. He didn't have anything going on really since they pretty much blew off him and Bryan. If the angle is that Wyatt wants to convert Kane to his side (and in the process they can ditch this guy who apparently is a shitty worker from all reports), yeah, I can dig that
rovert
Another thing is I think the typical wrestling fan has become smart enough to realise he can do more to annoy the heels than just boo and say "you suck!" Especially in an environment in WWE where Wrestlers are told to play to the camera and not to the audience. WWE should probably just cut it off before it starts and do some vignette or promo where Wyatt explains why "Husky Harris" isn't here anymore They should as Erick Rowan and Luke Harper probably don't have flashy enough offence to silence/impress a troll crowd.
