Guest Staples
No crazy Pentacostal hillbilly cults in France, I take it? Speaking of Ryback, I'm trying to figure out what they're doing with him. I first thought they were just killing him off, Well... they did this weird thing where after Vickie got fired, he came up to her backstage, hugged her, and said she deserved better. seems like they're still going for it. It's one thing for guys like Edge and Dolph to hook up with the shrill, bitchy heel in power to take advantage of said power, it's another for the 'monster' heel to starting banging shrill, bitchy heel out of sympathy for losing power. Johnny Sorrow
It didn't come off like anything romantic. It was Like he was empathizing with her. I'm hoping its not leading to some worked shoot shit about not being treated right.
Guest Staples
In all honesty, it's probably just the traditional depush the young guys get. She'll be his mouthpiece while he trades wins with R-Truth and Miz in the mid-card until he gets sick of it and leaves or they decide he's proven himself and have him turn on Vickie. Johnny Sorrow
I don't know, this seems different than the "depush the rookie to see if he has the head to stay in the game" deal. They had him start being whiny, Jerichos calling him a crybaby, he QUITS a match against MIZ because his leg is hurt, the announcers and Miz and the ref are all "WTF?", and now he's hugging Vickie and sort of implying that he "feels her pain" lol. Jimmy Redman
I think it was just to get Vickie managing Ryback, or else making them the nucleus of the heel/Vince faction when the Vince/Hunter feud for control really kicks off. Just typing that last bit made me feel a little ill.

I kind of thought that's where they were going with the whole performance review skit. Vince was her white knight, and when Hunter inevitably overthows Brad Maddox for being a dipshit, Vince will come back with Vickie and whoever she gathers together as a stable. rovert
I know a lot of people here have had friends sign with WWE but let me have my moment here. I really can't believe after all these years and knowing her Rebecca Knox (middle) is finally a part of WWE for real:
Badlittlekitten
Great news that. From what I've seen of her, Knox is quite brilliant and one of the most entertaining and funny heels about. Definitely star quality about her too. Hasn't she spent the last several years out of the business? I wonder what made WWE go for her. No crazy Pentacostal hillbilly cults in France, I take it? Speaking of Ryback, I'm trying to figure out what they're doing with him. Ryback hasn't been a 'monster' for, like, over 8 months. I was hoping they would go the comedy route with him and he would eventually devolve back into Skip Sheffield but I'm fine with the Vickie involvement too. Jimmy Redman
I think there is definitely a comedic angle in Ryback now being the World's Largest Chickensh*t Heel.

Definitely star quality about her too. Hasn't she spent the last several years out of the business? I wonder what made WWE go for her. Cliff notes version: Like you said she was quite the in ring prodigy and has the IT factor. After dropping out of the first year of college she blazed through Europe, North American and Japan generating huge word of mouth from fans and Wrestling people just before the social media era. Around the time she got WWE serious interest she suffered a pretty bad head injury. Which made her reassess Wrestling and her life. She really agonised over a return and even announced dates but only to cancel them. She then worked as an airhostess for a spell. Then came to the realisation she wanted to Wrestling again but didn't want to work the indies and get hurt badly again. She contacted WWE and WWE told her she has a standing offer but they would prefer if she got a Degree first. So she got a B.A. in Acting. On top of that she joined the stunt guild learning everything from sword fighting to stunt driving, learned clowning, took gymnastics, Yoga, MMA and god knows what else. What more do you need for a career in Sports Entertainment! She got a bad rep online in some quarters for being unreliable and flaky due to her period of indecisiveness and cancelling shows. In her defence she was 21 and her Wrestling career blossomed so fast. In the present day she is very driven towards succeeding in WWE, fulfilling a genuine dream and meeting the Rock! sek69
Given WWE's wariness of head injuries/concussions, I'm surprised they kept the offer for her. I'm glad they did, since as stated previously she's got that it factor. She could probably walk out on RAW this Monday and be better than nearly all their current women. Not a neurologist but going off what I was ever told it seemed to be both a one off and temporary issue. Her injury had to do with her Wrestling while doing bodybuilding competitions, being so depleted and with the nerve endings on her face being exposed. Rather just being naturally susceptible to brain trauma like someone who suffered concussions might be. Again she worked as an airhostess since her injures and has done all these crazy physical pursuits without any re-occurrence of the symptoms she had - dizziness and her ears ringing constantly. By depleted do you mean dehydrated? If so, yeah, that's super dangerous. Less fluid protecting the brain.
rovert
By depleted do you mean dehydrated? If so, yeah, that's super dangerous. Less fluid protecting the brain. Really not that sure to be honest on the hydration front but she was doing the no carbs thing and was the leanest she ever was. She did a podcast where she admitted she should have never stepped in the ring in the condition she was in - a dangerously low body fat zombie essentially. These days she is very, very anti-professional female bodybuilding and is all about achieving fitness goals in the healthiest way possible. I have heard varying accounts of how untrained the woman that hurt her was from earnest trainee to glorified backyarder that had no business in a ring. Her opponent just sits on Rebecca's head on a German suplex and busting Rebecca open above the eye. ClickWrestle actually has the full match for sale and uploaded a clip on youtube where don't see whatever happened to her just she was bleeding from her head:

One of the saddest things Ive saw on a message board was when Bryan Alverez pointed out Rebecca Knox's bacne on a body building phoot shoot picture of her to a unknowing/naive Alan4L on the F4W board a couple of years ago. rovert
As I said she is very, very anti-professional female bodybuilding given her experience. It is more of a competition to see who can break their body down the most. Should be called Body Breaking!
