goc
Apparently there's a rather odd rumor going around that Brock Lesnar was absent from Raw on Monday because he had been having heart problems... Brock's always sweated profusely.. People have been trying to start that rumor since SummerSlam. OH MY GOD A WRESTLER IS RED AND SWEATY HE'S GOING TO DIE IN THE RING! Strummer
With Austin set to return I wonder if they will go back to the storyline they were set to do last year with him fighting for control of the company with Hunter? Doubt it but I could see him agreeing to come back for that. Plus over a year later it would be tough to explain why Vince was all of a sudden mad at Hunter and Steph

Although several sites raised concerns about Lesnar's condition, no-one reported that he missed Raw because of them (as best as I can tell). If anything it seems that the Washington Post got WWE to deny a non-rumour so they could have a story with a lot of hits.
MJH
Brock's heart keeps Heyman off TV how exactly? They didn't have the next angle for Brock down (probably nixed what they had originally written), so he (or more likely Paul) wasn't on Raw. End of. KrisZ
One thing I noticed in the WON was that not only are Trips & Steph having issue with Kevin Dunn and his cronies but now George Berrios & Michelle Wilson are trying to pull a power play on them.......WWE Network should definitely do a reality show on the backstage drama. Steenalized
Wasn't Barrios the lead negotiator for their new TV contract? If so, I can't imagine his internal stock being too hot.
KrisZ
Yes he was and along with Wilson they were the key people for the Network so that isn't a positive either
shakla
The Bellas are doing autograph signings the next 2 weekends: http://www.wizardworld.com/betwnibrjowi1.html (Nashville Wizard World, this weekend) http://www.ringsidefest.com/ (Ringside Fest, Times Square, next weekend) I'm sure these were booked well in advance, but given their feud, this is quite the case in bad timing. sek69
Two things come to mind: I think people are concerned about Brock because it's still in the back of people's minds that the last time someone showed up on Raw looking that shade of purple, he died the next day. It's an irrational fear (I still think he's just extra red due to being a naturally fair skinned guy in the summertime), but I get why some people are so wrapped up about it. How do Wilson and Barrios figure they have any juice to even attempt a power play? No matter what happened with the Network or TV rights, I can't imagine anyone trying to pull a coup on Stephanie will end well with Vince still in the picture. Vince is a 70 year old CEO and in the eyes of shareholders Hunter & Stephanie have very limited experience and qualifications for high level Corporate stewardship. SteveJRogers
Dave and Bryan noted that Austin and WWE may have reached a deal. There is speculation that it's for a match at Mania. It seems plans might have switched and it might be Austin v Brock and Reigns v Cena. Cena goes over tomorrow, Rollins cashes in, Cena regains. Reigns being injured probably helps in the long run as I doubt he gets booed now during Mania season. WWE might as well keep him out till January now to ensure that although with Bryan returning around the same time things could get chaotic I saw a bit on a FB group where Austin merch is getting a major push. I'd just take it as the same reason Austin is prominent on the cover of that Best of After Raw DVD that came out this past spring. One of the most over acts in company history is showing no signs of a waning popularity, especially with the success of his post wrestling career with reality competition shows and podcasts and no public crap of any kind (be it simply embarrassing or flat out illegal/immoral) in his private life since bottoming out in 2002. The iron is still as red hot as ever, so why not strike it with a little more vigor than you would with other former superstars/Legend Contracted superstars merch. NintendoLogic
When exactly did the automatic rematch clause come into effect? I don't remember it being a thing until about a decade ago. More importantly, does anyone actually think it's a good idea? Kazuchika Okada never would've gotten off the ground in 2012 if Tanahashi had gotten an immediate rematch and won the belt right back from him. KrisZ
Automatic rematches has been a staple in wrestling forever but WWE just started using it more over the last few years.
MojoJsyn
Isn't the rematch clause how Steve Austin won back the belt from Kane the night after Kane beat Austin for it.
goc
I do feel like the rematch clause always existed, I'm fairly certain I remember them saying things like that when the NWA World Champion would lose his title. But it's just much more overdone now and it's an excuse to have lazy booking and keep running the same main events over multiple PPVs.
thebrainfollower
That one wasn't a clause. Austin challenged Kane earlier on Raw and Kane accepted with a nod.
Johnny Sorrow
I'm digging the idea that in these post PPV /Network days that they can run more long term stories with rematches and fueds if they want to. Bring back the old MSG three in a row.

Bring back the old MSG three in a row. That's fine, but they still treat the PPVs/Network specials as if they are more important than the weekly TV shows. They shouldn't be booking those "special" cards like any regular episode of "Smackdown."
