anarchistxx
I'd never even heard of them before people started discussing them. Don't know anyone who has one. A trip on Amazon suggests they are relatively cheap to buy, but it is still more of an effort than just buying the PPV for some people. It isn't really an issue for me personally, as I was done spending money on wrestling a long time ago, so there was no way I was either buying the event or subscribing to the network. shoe
The number is solid, I think I was expecting in the 725,000 range. A million by years end isn't out of the question. Some of the issue is that Mania was the big draw, I think. They also might lose people after the first six months are up. That is a good point. Though with some of the original programming they are offering up, and if they do some of the stuff similar to what they did for Wrestlemania weekend might offset the Mania draw. The other ppv's should keep the people growing as long as they keep the price cheap.

With the exception of a pre/post show the day of, which they've been doing as dot com/YouTube exclusives anyway, I don't see them pulling out all the stops of weekend long coverage and pro except for the "Big Four" of WrestleMania, SummerSlam, Survivor Series (well, if they want to get it back on the same level again) and Royal Rumble. Also, it is going to be strange to hear "specials" instead of PPVs going forward. As if we are going back to the old territory Super Card days of Showdown at Shea, or the Texas Stadium shows. Guest The Jiz
One issue seems to be demographics. The average age of WWE Raw's audience is nearing 40. How many of them care to watch PPV on a Roku? I'd never subscribe to the Network except the android phone is good for that. Point being is it's not like WWE's audience is sufficiently young to turn this to an overwhelming success, at least initially. Only cheap PPV prices appeal to me, and I'd imagine it's the same for most casuals. Raw is already very long as it is. Original programming sounds like a bombardment. shoe
Part of the numbers not being as strong as they thought are with the other platforms their are still glitches. For example not all the house shows and legends round tables aren't up for VOD. Maybe people canceled and are waiting for all the glitches being worked out. I know I'm a little miffed about the problem.
goodhelmet
On podcasts and in posts, I was way more pessimistic. I didn't think they would hit 500,000 subscribers. I think they should be giggling like little school girls they are higher than that.

I think they should be giggling like little school girls they are higher than that. That's a little surprising since 6 months of PPV for $60 is insanely cheap. My guess is if numbers don't increase over 6 months, they'll bump the price up to reach the revenue generated by 1 million subscribers at the current fixed price. Someone here did the math. The price increase wouldn't be substantial.
NintendoLogic
I think they could've gotten a million subscribers or close to it if it had been ready to go right after the announcement. A lot of the excitement seemed to dissipate during the month interval.

Matt D
I feel like they almost HAVE to post more old Hall of Fame inductions now because they've created a section on the network. It looks stupid just to have two things in there.
jdw
Looking at the quality issues being discussed, some of the things we were seeing over at Hoback's were similar: * "repeats" The feed repeating what just happened. This wasn't happening all the time, but you'd get one every match or so, and sometimes two repeats of the same thing. But the end of the show, we were quite a ways behind the "real time" of the show... maybe 10+ minutes. This wasn't a massive issue since we were avoiding checking online for the most part, but Hoback tended to notice on occasion when he went to check Dave's comments on a match an saw Dave already was posting into the next match. If someone is a big twitter or FB junking, and follows people who post stuff all the time... yeah, that could be a pain in the ass. We also had some fun joking around with it when it happened and we noticed it. * picture quality It tended to go back and forth. There were times when the quality was exceptional, and then others when it felt like watching 240p on Youtube... except blown up to a 44+ inch TV. It wasn't consistently in the bad range, and usually only for a short time. It did seem like a lot of the weaker quality was when the giant video board at the entrance was overly active/intense. The seemed to screw things up most often. Other times when there was a bit too much activity going on in the match, such as in the battle royal or the 8-man tag. With the room (four adults + two 13-16 year olds), this didn't get anyone pissed off. On the other hand, it is something over time they need to work out. When people pay for stuff, even when it's a "great deal" at $10 a month, they expect it to be of the quality of Raw and without glitches. It appears that MLB Network is having some other issues, but they also have a massive amount of money invested in this, so we probably should all have some faith they'll work it out. Bix
Having seen that awful WO.com letter someone pasted in the WM thread about paying $70 to not have to watch WM on a laptop or tablet, just how much of this attitude is WWE needed to educate fans better vs fan stupidity? How can you read this site regularly enough to want to send an email feedback and not know the many ways to watch WWE Network on your TV? They badly need to change the "announcers show off the app" network tutorial to Renee Young backstage at a TV pointing a remote and going through the UI. Even if it's more fan dumbness than anything, WWE needs to educate them.
The Chief
For those that don't want to watch on a laptop, you can also run an HDMI cable from your laptop to your TV. And this is very basic knowledge that any smart internet fan should know. My parents do this and they can barely operate a DVD player. My feed did what jdw described where it would repeat something that I watched a couple of times. It was annoying but really didn't take away from my enjoyment. I was live tweeting the show through TweetDeck and the PS3 stream was maybe a minute and a half behind TweetDeck. I wish there wasn't the lag difference between the two and hopefully it is something that will be continued to worked on tweaked. All in all I was very happy with the Network. It wasn't perfect but I was expecting much worse given after the live NXT broadcast a few weeks ago.
Kevin Ridge
I did not know much of anything about watching stuff online. When I go on youtube or dailymotion video can be choppy and skip/buffer which is not pleasant to watch. Sure there are loads of other folks out there who feel the same. The network finally got me to go out and research options about watching stuff through my TV as hate doing it on my computer. I had a PS3 so didn't have to buy a device. But did have to spend money on wireless router. So people may have to spend additional money for devices/set up to be able to watch on TV. So if they only order WrestleMania for the whole year the six month commitment and having to buy other device may not be worth it.

cowboy hats
Watching wrestlemania again on VOD and it has skipped a number of times just in the first segment with Hogan/Austin/Rock. I'm going to do an embarrassing job describing this, but the resolution also changes at times (same happened live Sunday night), as if the picture is zoomed in so I'm not getting it all. But this is the horrible device that is known as the 360, so YMMV.
bradhindsight
I haven't had any issues with the VOD of XXX. We watched it on PS3 right after the show and I did again this afternoon. Sometimes as the feed starts you're almost in standard definition. My Xbox 360 has the biggest issue with this - especially with the live stream. But i think it's much more device/signal related than what they're putting out.
The Chief
The Daniel Bryan special was very well done, anyone who hasn't seen it should seek it out. I haven't seen them put that much effort into a production like this in a long time. Also I found it cool that they were bringing up PWO talking points like Rey getting booed in the Rumble because they thought #30 was Bryan. They definitely didn't bring that up on TV :-)
