A real shock to see it it broadcast on the network!

Oh Geez, you're not aware that standards were different 30 years ago?

I know standard were different back then...thats my point....it was back then and I am surprised to see it shown on the network...on the live feed anyway.

They don't have to erase history -- the Network would have some big-time holes if they did -- but I think it's worth questioning what they choose to highlight through the live feed, even when it comes down to interstitials.

Unfortunately, to paraphrase Piper himself, trying to find a Piper interview without so much of a hint of racism or homophobia is like Jacque Cousteau trying fo find a dry spot in the ocean. (How do you think he got so far?)

I've really been surprised with how little editing has been done on the network. Aside from the copyright music edits. The only big one I've come across, is Benoit's final WCW theme (which begins with him saying he's silent, but violent) being dubbed over. But, Heenan's F-bomb is intact, Heenan asking who's side Hogan is on is intact (and they always mute that on DVDs).

I had no idea they always muted that Heenan line on DVD's. I wonder why.

Interestingly, the version of Bash at the Beach 96 they have up is actually the VHS release because the Turner release edited out the bit with a fan trying to save the day after Hogan's turn and it's edited out on The Network.

I believe that line was always edited out because the feeling was Heenan gave away the turn was coming, but considering the history the two characters had it was completely appropriate.

Not just that, but the angle already happened. It's one of the biggest moments in the history of our sport (channeling my inner Tony Schiavone there). Editing the line now makes absolutely no sense. Even if the belief is that Heenan gave away the turn, I don't understand why WWE would be concerned with trying to fine-tune a WCW angle.

As for certain stuff being censored v. uncensored, I'm of the belief (based on nothing, mind you) that certain things that were uploaded may have been home video releases/Classics on Demand versions that have already been somewhat edited.

Heenan didn't have to say anything. The Bischoff school of thought on keeping announcers in the dark is what should be criticized more than Heenan. He was operating blind so it's hard to assign too much blame to him. One of the bookers should have realized the dilemma of what Bobby Heenan should say and gave him some guidance on how they wanted him to call that moment. My suggestion would have been that he either says nothing at all when Hogan comes out and lets Tony and Dusty do the talking, or that he says, "I never thought I would say this in my life, but I am actually glad to see Hulk Hogan!"

Yeh, I'm sure this was discussed not too long ago, but to echo my thoughts - it's the equivalent of doing the same thing with Cena now, in that even if an announcer said "Who's side is Cena on!?" in such a scenario, nobody would believe they were going to turn him until they actually did, because he'd been a babyface for so long and in such a major way that it was hard to fathom ever deviating from that, even if it was suggested.

It looks like they 'll be airing Total Divas reruns on the network.

Really dumb that they didn't just put the whole season up there, especially when the Network only has Season 1 and the show is already on Season 3.

Whoever is in charge of content, scheduling, etc. for the Network is beyond clueless. It's just been so bad, slow, and frustrating lately.

Things have slowed down as far as new content release. There has been very little as far as Old School. The first Raw show of 95 was just made available. I'm guessing once they get up to September of that year they will start releasing Nitro episodes too and do the whole Monday Night War stuff that was mentioned earlier on. Still a ways to go though.

I'd think that one of the goals of this network would be to release enough stuff during the week that they'd keep you glued in. But that's not the case. I usually watch the documentaries on Sunday morning while doing household chores or while cooking but there's no other day of the week that makes me go "man I have to watch the Network today because they are releasing a new episode of (whatever)".

I don't watch a lot of wrestling hours every week so I still have enough content there to get by but I can't imagine the hardest of the hardcores (essentially, the majority of the people who are buying your network now) can be too happy about it. I guess they figure out (and they are probably right) that no matter how pissed off those fans are they will keep subscribing every six months.

I have no idea what's the problem here as I'd have imagined that they have a large number of hours of several shows both digitised and censored. It looks as if nobody's really in charge of the network and before the last guy was let go somebody set up a script to release a few raws and some other crap every week and that's about it.

Dave mentioned that the stuff getting viewed the most is by far the recent PPVs and the current week's edition of stuff like Legends House. I'm not surprised by that since they aren't even trying to promote anything else. I wouldn't be surprised if a significant chunk of subscribers still don't know about the Clashes being added simply because WWE has never even tried to promote it. It seems every week on all WWE shows, they should hype anything that was recently added.

THIS. So much this. Most casual fans are not gonna go out of their way to find out what's been added to the Network. If WWE is intent on growing the Network, they need to be constantly reminding viewers exactly what's available. It's so simple. "Hey guys, Saturday Night Main Event coming to the network in two weeks!" Build it up, make it special. This isn't rocket science.

Yes, that and the fact that searching for content is a pain in the ass. There's a very large collection of stuff there but unless you know what you are looking for it's hard to find it.

I'd not be shocked if some network exec with no wrestling background assumed "well, there's no demand AT ALL for old content on the Network" because viewership numbers for unindexed Old School or semi-random World Class episodes is very low.

How much of the current WWE fanbase even knows what Saturday Night Main Event or Clash of the champions is? I guess they would have to show clips and give a brief history if they cared.

Could not disagree with you more. That line by Heenan was completely inappropriate. Also, this was smack dab in the middle of Heenan's period of being drunk on the air. God Bless him (we've talked about this before), but there were some shows between '96-'98 that were hard to listen to with Bobby in the condition he was in. But, no, that line was not for the best interests of the company. He also rushed it, like he had it planned the entire time, and tried to sneak it in. Never liked that.

By "unindexed" Old School shows I didn't mean not on the list, rather that there's little to make you watch them unless you know what's there. I think that if you watch on your laptop you have stops at the start of each match but on most devices you don't.

Example: "Old School WWE card from the Boston Garden features Macho Man Randy Savage defending the Intercontinental Title in a Lumberjack Match."

This must be one of those shows whose description they pulled straight from Classics of Demand before they made up with Bruno because they don't even mention his name.

They have the time. They certainly waste enough of it on advertising Twitter which I haven't actually figured out how it's making WWE any money yet.

I'd imagine, like with Raw/Smackdown, the deal with E! has something to do with what they can do with the show.
