JaymeFuture
So, with the recent news of Spike choosing not to renew TNA's TV deal, it seems like a good time to do a podcast looking at the story of TNA thus far - the good points and the bad. The direction of the show will be balanced purely based on the feedback given. So what I'd like to ask is, to you personally, what is your one high point and one low point in TNA history. A moment, a match, an angle, a character, a point in time, whatever. Feel free to elaborate on your chosen points, and feel free to add any additional comments about the Spike TV news and TNA's situation itself (I know a lot have been posted in the Cancelled thread, but I didn't want to mooch off that without permission)I'll be reading the comments on the show, and it should be pretty entertaining due to some of the absurdity of the past twelve years. So yeh, in your opinion, highest high and lowest low? Was there ever any hope?
Lust Hogan
High: Angle vs. Joe. The series was really good but the final pseudo MMA match at Lockdown I believe was great and was being praised for being innovative. TNA did a good job with the build and really seemed like an alternative to WWE. Low: Hogan/Bishoff regime. When they came I there was buzz and optimism and a chance for real change, IMO but it quickly became all about Hulk and Bishoff. They seemingly had a bunch of good ideas but really didn't want to listen to fans (Example: Nigel McGuinness) which made people ultimately quit caring altogether. moazzam23
Here's a complete catalogue of their lows: http://taimapedia.org/index.php?title=LOLTNA_History#TNA_IMPACT_CANCELLED
SomethingSavage
I know pretty much everyone will point to '05-'06, so I'll offer another time period that I honestly enjoyed instead... High: 2011 (basically everything post Jeff Hardy drug-induced main event versus Sting at Victory Road) through all of 2012 and possibly up until Lockdown 2013. Hogan as GM wasn't as bad as you might think. Concepts like Open Fight Night, the "mandatory" defending of the Television Championship, and even Gut Check were at least unique in theory & even turned out alright in execution more often than not. They put on a string of solid pay-per-views, with Aries, Jeff, Roode, Storm, and others contributing. The emergence of Bad Influence as a tag team, the refocusing on the X-Division, and a serious upgrade in production values took place throughout this tenure as well. Low: Definitely most of 2010. And a lot of the terrible gimmick matches & stipulations they cooked up, simply for the sheer desperate sake of seeming "different."
Grimmas
High: Joe's run from his debut until (see the low). He was booked as a monster and the future ace. Went through everyone and had great matches with the X division guys and Scott Steiner, among others. Low: The ppv before Bound for Glory Joe faces Jarrett in a non-title strap match, wins and the main event at bfg is sting-jarrett for the title. What stupidity, just have Joe win the title there and things would had made sense.
The Chief
I will say this, if I'm booking a dream North American promotion, I'll take the production of WWE, the episodic TV of Mid-South, the talent of Crockett, maybe some of the early edge of ECW, etc. There isn't a damn thing I would take from TNA. bradhindsight
High: this cage match between AJ Styles and Abyss from 2005 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u1QCgwpIqKc Low: the Jeff Hardy mess with Sting. Other highs: their DVD sales were always great and they have a lot of free content on Youtube - and have done so for years.
Matt D
There is one Dustin Rhodes match I like other than the bs Planet Jarrett finish. Everything else is a low.
Loss
I think 2002-2014 was a real low point for TNA.
Loss
Actually, to be fair, I always thought they were really good at naming some of their pay-per-views. Bound For Glory, Victory Road and Slammiversary are pretty strong PPV names. That's all I got though.
SomethingSavage
For as much shit as the Lockdown event gets (and deservedly so, since it's bizarre to book an entire night of cage matches), it's actually produced some of their better matches & moments. AJ/Abyss is already posted here, but I'd put Christian Cage vs. Abyss, Bobby Roode vs. James Storm, Kurt Angle vs. Samoa Joe, and even Kurt Angle vs. Ken Anderson - all from various Lockdown shows - right up there as definitive highs for the company. concrete1992
HIGH: Aries Destination X win against Robby Rude. HIGH: Tito Ortiz's return to THE IMPACT ZONE to kill Rampage Jackson.

Sidebottom
A high for me was seeing their toys in stores when I was shopping for my nephews Christmas presents. If he was into wrestling (sadly not) I'd have loved to have gotten him a Samoa Joe figure or whatever. TNA had a tonne of toys which was nice to see, around 2006 / 2007. Also, the graphics on their video game looked amazing at the time. Shame the game was rotten, if not slightly apt.

Hollinger.
So uh... I've never seen much of anything on that list, so I did this: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLoltmE1u_WAad4S8UaqRcSwa5gIMGmm6M The only things not easily available on Youtube were weirdly the two Joe/Nigel matches, both of which are in full on Dailymotion. Matt D
We are away this week, but at a glance, I think two were Christian matches, the Storm death match, and maybe AJ vs Raven for sheer curiosity factor.
BigBadMick
Interesting. To each his own, but I'd say for me watching TNA from 05 and 06 would be a preferable to WWE in those years.
