Lee
Does anyone else think that having a ROH lead-in will actually help TNA's viewership in the final months on Destination America? I imagine there's a number of ROH fans who haven't given TNA a watch recently or even WWE/NXT fans that are now interested in checking out where Owens, Zayn, Rollins, etc. came from and can do it with further accessibility. It would be fascinating if some slight boost of interest in TNA - thanks to ROH - leads to someone else providing TNA with yet another chance for last through the year. No, I think it's entirely wishful thinking. If TNA are off the air in September, that's three months, and I don't think three months is enough to grow an audience significantly enough to cover for the fact that Dixie is a pillock. I'd honestly be amazed if TNA's numbers didn't fall due to the change of night, and I can't imagine ROH bringing enough fans who'll stick around through Impact, especially when most of that audience is probably more interested in NXT at this point. All that being said, I do think TNA will still be around as at least a skeleton company come 2016. I wouldn't be shocked if they went dark, but they're selling tickets for the UK tour in January, which would only be three months after the cancellation. I think they could go dark for a while if need be. Part of me wonders if, come September, will Destination America request ROH go to 2 hours, or are TNA being used as a trial run for DA running a Wednesday night wrestling block? I mean, we know about all those TV tapings you-know-who already has planned...
Loss
It's probably wrong of me to want TNA to die solely to get Dixie Carter out of wrestling for good. But I want TNA to die solely to get Dixie Carter out of wrestling for good.
DMJ
So, so pumped for this. I've heard great things about RoH's TV from friends, podcasts, etc., but I'm just not the type to watch shows online on a computer or iPad. I've seen some matches here or there, but I'm excited to watch things episodically. Sinclair did not have a channel here in Cleveland (at least not on Cox Cable - maybe Time Warner?), but I *think* I get Destination America. To be honest, I haven't looked in awhile mostly because I gave up on getting into TNA probably sometime around 2011 - starting in 05' or so, I'd watch a show or two, try to get into it, but lose interest and this would happen over and over through the years, TNA never getting good enough to keep me interested for anything longer than a month or two. RoH, on the other hand, has a reputation of being for "real fans," a bit of the original ECW mystique in its humble roots and being the "birthplace" of guys like Daniel Bryan, Seth Rollins, and CM Punk (accurate or not), and is a legitimately NEW promotion to millions of eyes. Save a handful of matches each year, it is brand new to me. I expect RoH to outdraw TNA, maybe handily. The "buzz" is there. Last thought: The news of today reminds of the most recent twist on one of my favorite current shows, Silicon Valley on HBO. On Silicon Valley, the main character (CEO of the data-crunching Pied Piper app) recently bested a rival company that stole his algorithm by sabotaging their deal with an industry-leading internet porn company. They did this by illegally hacking into their competitor's files, seeing their deal with said porn company, and then approaching the porn site with "We can do what our competitor does - but we can do it cheaper and produce a better product." I'm guessing RoH snaked its way into DA's good graces with similar promises and I don't think their claim is at all wrong.

sek69
Is it just me, or is it to the point Dixie is worse than Russo? At least he had success at some point, she's just been one embarrassing episode after another.
The Man in Blak
Selfishly, I was worried at first that this deal would cut off the syndication broadcasts through Sinclair, since our local cable company carries those, but does not offer Destination America; it sounds like the syndicated broadcasts will continue with this deal, though. Regardless, I am excited for this deal, especially if DA will continue to stay hands off on creative matters. I wonder if this will inspire WWE and RoH to be less cooperative with each other, as far as footage and Samoa Joe are concerned.
Memphis Mark
Joe Koff has been in TV since the 80's. In fact is he been in sales the whole time. Koff spoke the language DA wanted to hear , that is language of money . Koff knows how to make money with a minimum cost . Sinclair is about making money for their shareholders , not losing millions like TNA.. I don't work in TV , but I would guess that it is a small circle of players and Koff knew the DA people from his years in business. Koff and Sinclair have been slowly destroying Dixie Carter's TNA since 2011. She is so stupid she never saw it coming until it was too late. Poor Dixie was chasing the WWE , while Sinclair was slowly overtaking TNA. She deserves this just for being so stupid . . ROH is now on the Sinclair network , syndicated in Atlanta , DC . Dallas and Cleveland , on the NESN and now Destination America. ROH has the relationship with NJPW . ROH has an active touring business fans where actually pay real money for tickets. ROH has PPV and IPPV . Now ROH has access to Styles , Lethal , Kazarian , Joe , Young Bucks and Matt Sydal . ROH has kept most of it's talent , with Steen being the exception . ROH has an active VOD business. ROH draws money for TV ad sales. Now they even have a toy line. ROH checks every box. TNA is pretty much dead in the water . The only thing they had over ROH was the DA deal , now that is gone. Yet some people still think TNA is the number two promotion. I wonder how old Double J is feeling today ? bradhindsight
This is a great deal for DA. ROH is subsidized by Sinclair and will get good ratings for them. The cost for them is way lower. It's also possible that ROH may be able to bring over some ad deals via Sinclair. And putting it as the lead in to TNA is pretty smart by DA. They're already losing money on this investment so why not experiment with crossover viewers? At worst they still cancel TNA in September anyway. Great deal for DA. It's actually airing directly before and after Impact, which Meltzer interprets as being a strong indication that they're using Impact to establish a following for ROH before they cancel it. Dylan Waco
At this point I struggle to think of a single reason to vote for anyone else for promotion of the year over ROH. They have shown real development and growth this year despite the alleged budget issues early in the year.
Herodes
I'm all for jokes at the expense of TNA but weren't we all laughing when they were kicked off Spike and had to go to a shitty channel that no one watches, so isn't this a case of ROH now getting a deal with the same shitty channel that no one watches? And when TNA gets inevitably cancelled, ROH will be show on a shitty channel that no one watches.
cheapshot
If they get 300,000 extra eyeballs on the product - that's an extra 30% if you say they get about 1 million (give or take) on syndication. ROH are in a far healthier position than TNA.

I live in Boston so you piqued my interest when you threw out NESN, but doing some digging it is on NESN National, which is NESN for the rest out of the country outside of New England (since Red Sox Nation is a national phenomenon and New England transplants live everywhere). I checked NESN listings here and there was nothing at the mentioned times of midnight on any day. Oh well, I still have Destination America. Superstar Sleeze
Red Sox fandom transcends win-loss records. The next time I am on Titans and the show gets derailed for one reason or another, remind me to explain why I hate the Sox and the story of how became a Tigers fan. It is an epic. That being said, while I hate the Sox, I respect their ability to draw across the country. Plus I am still proud to be from Titletown, USA, which includes John Cena, Sasha Banks and the First Ever Winner of the First Ever Pro Wrestling Trivia Internet Podcast, BRAINBUSTER, ME!
