sek69
Well technically he returned to an All Elite show running Arena Mexico, but it's the same deal they did with La Parka when he returned. Considering they were building him as the top heel against Rey Jr this is a pretty embarrassing moment for AAA.
pol
It's crazy how 2015 was supposed to be AAA's year and in many ways it's just been horrible for them, although I think their business is still good/growing despite all that. Anything that gets CMLL out of its current malaise is a good thing. Those couple weeks with Park and Wagner were electrifying. That said, it's yet another short-term fix (and who knows how long it lasts until he storms out of CMLL too) for a promotion with fundamental problems that will likely continue to go unaddressed, but at least we will probably get some fun shows out of it. A Rush/Mistico program would be nice. Will be interesting to see who AAA promotes to the top rudo spot now.
SomethingSavage
I haven't seen any of Mysteziz (outside of the short shots of him and Cage doing the unmasked teasing stuff) since the heel turn. How's he been in the role? Any notable performances as a rudo? I'd be curious to know how he's handled the transition. Would it be considered a misguided step or a fresh adaptation for the guy? Tenese Sarwieh
Wow, what else can go wrong for AAA before the year is over? I wouldn’t mind seeing a program with Rush too, maybe one with La Sombra also.
Mad Dog
Isn't Averno pretty close to leaving AAA as well?
Grimmas
If Mistico can regain some of his former drawing magic imagine doing an anniversary show between Mistico-Atlantis for the mask?
pol
If Mistico can regain some of his former drawing magic imagine doing an anniversary show between Mistico-Atlantis for the mask? That would be incredibly short-sighted even for CMLL... so I guess it's not outside the realm of possibility.
Mad Dog
I would turn him tecnico again.
BillThompson
Isn't Averno pretty close to leaving AAA as well? Him, and there are some others I have heard are close as well. But, the door swings both ways and I've heard of a few Luchadors who are close to leaving CMLL.
Mad Dog
It seems like they all get fed up with the promoters at the same time and jump back to the other side. It really makes me sad that I can't get into AAA. I tried really hard last year when Averno and Mistico jumped ship. But I just can't do it for some reason. I'll take sucky CMLL shows over good AAA shows any day and I've never been able to force myself to change that.
Matt D
One-fall lucha is just relatively crummy.
Loss
I don't know enough about how fans think in Mexico to know the answer to this, but it is known by most fans that it's the same guy? Do they try to hide that he used to be Mistico? Is he presented as a newcomer or as the former Mistico/Sin Cara?
Bierschwale
It's known that Mistico II is a different guy (and subsequently that Dragon Lee II is a different guy). I actually hope that this gets Mistico II's shit together, somehow. It's unfair to just compare him to his brothers because Dragon Lee and Rush are great for completely different reasons, but does anyone really care about Mistico II at all? Loss
I know it's known that the new guy is different, but is the older guy's past known?

He seems to waver between below average and pretty damn good. The guy never had a chance in that gimmick though.
conker8
I know it's known that the new guy is different, but is the older guy's past known? Yes, they know it's Mistico. They chant his name yesterday when he was cutting a promo in the ring.
pantherwagner
I know it's known that the new guy is different, but is the older guy's past known? Fans in Mexico were behind the times until the early 00's but nowadays they are as sophisticated as your average WWE or New Japan fan. As a random example, everybody knew Silver King was Black Tiger back in 2001. Before that, only the Arena Mexico fans were "smart fans" so to speak. sek69
It's odd he would jump when he was being programmed for what would certainly be a huge Triplemania match with Rey.
pol
Might not have wanted to drop the mask. edit: not so according to Rob Viper
sek69
So there was a press conference deal to announce his new name (apparently WWE is fighting him on the Sin Cara name, imagine that) and his new CMLL name is..... Mistic 2.0. I guess that tells us two things: 1. Mistico II is probably boned. 2. We should all apologize to AAA for saying the name they came up with was the dumbest one you could think of. jushin muta liger
I was expecting something foolish like Sin Mistico but Mistic 2.0 exceeded it.

sek69
So to recap here, he's the guy who while one of the biggest draws in the world told CMLL he was going on vacation for a few days and signed with WWE. Then acts like a primadonna in WWE and is generally an embarrassment to the second in command of the company who signed him as a pet project. Finally he ends up in AAA when they are the top company in Mexico and proceeds to fuck *that* up by pissing off Alberto to the point there was legit concern Alberto might kill the guy. I get wanting to go to WWE to strike while the iron was hot and try to get paid, but has there been a guy who's blown that many top level chances as him? goc
I don't think that ADR stuff really mattered. He quit AAA they didn't dump him. If I had to guess a reason why they probably wanted him to lose his mask or he just didn't want to be a rudo.
