Yeah, I believe Impact has already given their people a raise due to the new TV deal.

You mean they are paid with some actual money now ?

*tchiki-boom*

It's too bad this did not happen before Kross & Scarlett asked their release.

I have a level of sympathy for the NXT talent. But at the same time, what did they think was going to happen. They were signing every name under the sun and some of them with a lot of buzz. There was a real risk of sitting in the PC and just gathering dust as a talent.

This. Not to mention you know you have 90% of chance of getting wasted on the main roster.

Didn't the dude win the Breakout tournament? It would have been reasonable for him to expect a push out of it. They had him lose his prize match and as far as I can see, forgot about him immediately afterwards. For someone like him, I can see how he would be confused and lash out if that's the case.

I'm sure there were a few that signed before AEW became a viable option who are now kicking themselves.  I'm not clear on who signed when and all that, but you have to figure there are a couple people at least who aren't doing anything right now that would've been on AEW's radar.

High-level athletes tend to have astronomical levels of self-confidence, so they probably figured they'd be the ones to beat the odds.

Edited post. Was just ranting about stuff.

So the NXT guys aren't getting that pay raise after all ?

I spoke to someone in NXT today they had a meeting addressing morale yesterday I think. There was a meeting addressing pay recently and NXT management will be sitting down with talent individually as early as this week.

ACH wasn't going to be one of those people. William Regal is one of his biggest fans.

They didn't forget about him. They were doing a slow burn thing with him and Keith Lee in vignettes on Youtube. Seemingly they were about to form a team or one was going to turn on the other.

I agree. It is starting to feel like ACH went into working for the WWE with zero understanding of who he was getting in bed with.

Believe me, that's not the case here. I talked to him just before he reported. He was very realistic about things and just wanted to do a nice midcard spot and be a role model for children. Basically did his art and now was happy to be a sports entertainer.

He has issues currently going on beyond Pro Wrestling. WWE is currently looking to get him help.

I know almost all the folks in NXT are young folks who think they have the world by the balls, but how many times are they going to get swayed by Uncle Paul having a rah-rah meeting every time it becomes clear that what they are being promised doesn't match reality?

I get they all feel they're going to change the world and reinvent WWE...and hell, maybe someone there will, but the reality is NXT is nothing more than a wrestler storage facility at this point to try to keep folks away from AEW. You're lucky to even get on the Florida loop these days unless you had some kind of name on the indies.

Love the idea of a women's War Games match especially with the people in it.   Especially with people like Ripley, Io, and Candice in it.   The only thing that worries me is that most of these matches are weapon filled brawls and still worried about Teagen and Dakota legs in that kind of match coming off injuries

So wait are we getting 2 War Games matches at the next Takeover?

I never really noticed it until the tag match last week, but Jessamyn Duke has that 1986 Kendall Windham skinniness going on. Like I know she was an actual MMA fighter but she looks like her limbs could snap at any moment under their own weight.

Here's my question match about the Women's War Games Match, then: who'll be the Arn Anderson for that one? You can't put anybody in that spot - especially not Duke & Shafir. Anyone see Io & Candice starting it out for their respective teams?

I think those would be the smart picks, or Io and one of Team Kick so they can get beat up when the heels get the advantage.

It's been pretty funny to see how crowds everywhere just refuse to boo the Kabuki Warriors. Kairi is just so miscast as a heel and Asuka is finally out there beating people's asses like nature intended there's no way anyone is not going to cheer them.

Watched the Balor promo. I also didn't think it was too good. For starters, that "shoot" comment about "laying down for someone just because they have a new mask" was stupid.

You can get "shooty" and talk about "bad creative" without completely exposing that there is a writer/booker who is laying out the finishes of every match and choosing who wins. I think Jericho did a great job of it a few weeks back with his promo introducing the Inner Circle. He got his digs in against the WWE's creative without outright saying, "Jake Hager was told to lose and he followed the script but now that's he in AEW, we're going to book him to win more!"

Second, all the lines that referenced "this business" reeked of Triple H putting words in his mouth. I honestly can't believe they never marketed a tee-shirt with Triple H's face and the phrase "This Business" right below it. It was like a drinking game for awhile with him and you could get sloshed every Monday Night if you took a shot each time he said that phrase in one of his endless, breathy promos.

Finally, maybe don't talk about how there are boys in the back who don't look like wrestlers when you, yourself, are what? 210 soaking wet? Even in the relatively smaller world of pro-wrestling in 2019, Finn Balor is relatively small. Maybe the point was more that Balor is handsome and Gargano isn't? Okay. Fine. But here's the "ting," if you don't accentuate that handsomeness with some extra pizzazz or (for lack of a better term) flair, you're just a handsome guy in a cool leather jacket. Compare that to Ric Flair's extravagant suits and robes or "The Model" Rick Martel's get-up or even Shawn Michaels' ridiculous mirror-covered chaps and zebra-print leather daddy stuff. Or if you want a modern equivalent, just look at Velveteen Dream. It all exudes confidence, arrogance, narcissism. Even if you're going for "low key cool guy" (which we can debate is even a gimmick worth pursuing anyway), there are ways to spruce it up.

I'm not saying Balor should be wearing over-the-top shit and coming out with a feather boa, but you can't knock the other guy for looking like a fan when you yourself look like a fan (who just happens to be handsome).

I maintain the best gimmick for Balor was Facefuckme Finn. Great name too. And make him a gay porn actor (Val Venis, only better), because he's all about the LGBTQ+ community, after all he took a picture in Saudi and posted it on his Instagram once in the plane back home, he's a rebel. I wonder if he'll do something crazy today too to fight homophobia and transphobia after entertaining the Prince of Dark Ages.

I took the wrestlers comment to mean that they were a bunch of geeks who would rather play video games rather than working to be the best pro wrestlers they can be.

There was an episode of Impact in 2011 where Bully Ray cut an promo on AJ Styles calling him a boy who would rather play video games in his hotel room than drink whiskey and get lap dances at a strip club like a man.

He should have straight called him gay. Now, that's some heat for good ol' AJ boy...
