Had Sano at #30, which is probably way too high but considering where he landed, I'm glad I did it. There's only one vote I really feel stupid about.

Seriously, the final list looks like it's gonna have some serious crappy candidates. Hogan ? HHH ? Really people ?

Hulk Hogan is the biggest star the industry ever produced. Did you really expect him not to rank in the top 125?

May I recommend #120-#111 on Saturday, #110-#101 on Sunday and then start the Top 100 on Monday morning? I don't check this thread much, if at all, over the weekend. This way Monday can start with fresh list, fresh threads and fresh eyes.

Yes, except 120 is coming tonight.

I have way more time over the weekend than during workdays packed with meetings into the small hours, so I'd prefer a different way than you. But whatever suits Steven.

My ballot has been a bloodbath today.

I was the high vote on Thesz. I love to watch Thesz because wrestling history seems to flow through him. He looks like he could be a neighbor on "Leave It To Beaver," but he transforms himself in the ring into a dastardly heel that's willing to bend the rules to his advantage, presaging the NWA Championship heels to come. He uses his backdrop suplex, which becomes the cornerstone of the All Japan style. Jumbo, Misawa, Kawada, etc. just wouldn't be the same without Thesz's existence. Bret Hart's signature counter that he uses to beat Piper and Austin is being used by Thesz in the early 1950's.

On the mat, Thesz always stays active. He cranks the holds and will move to a variation to keep things interesting. When he is trapped in a hold, Thesz is always moving the feet, which gives the needed impression of trying to escape.

I am stunned I was not the high vote on Thesz. Concur with all of this. Thesz was as good as anyone at making a wrestling match look competitive.

Second all this... But I've only seen 4-5 prime era Thesz matches (and a couple of the ones close to the very end), so couldn't really vote for him (or Buddy Rogers), but really feel like I maybe should have. I can't say I couldn't have him top 25 if there was 20-30 50's matches of his available. Seems like his legendary reputation is well deserved and not historical hyperbole. ... Would also love to see more Gorgeous George. And obviously Bock in the 60's...

Aww, Kansai couldn't quite make it. At least the JWP girls went kicking and screaming out of the top 100.

Yeah. Kansai was my #71. All the girls are dropping from the Top 100.

I voted for Malenko last time. As you can guess if you know me, he had no chance this time around.
