SomethingSavage Posted May 2, 2018 Report Posted May 2, 2018 Wasn't there another key writer involved with SD throughout that time though? I know Road Dogg was still in the creative mix (and getting most of the credit at the actual time), but I *know* I've heard another name tossed around in retrospect. Former NXT writer iirc..?Ryan Ward? That's the one. Thanks. Whatever happened to him..? Quote
Loss Posted May 2, 2018 Report Posted May 2, 2018 What's Bryan doing tonight? His chest was such a mess after the GRRE the doctors won't let him perform. (For real.) You do know that Bryan worked the dark match vs Nakamura after 205 Live, right? Feels like WWE has no idea what they want to do with Daniel Bryan. Admittedly, part of that is likely that they aren't sure how his health will hold up over the long haul. The thing that stands out is that while he's one of their top guys and I do think they're treating him that way, it doesn't seem like they have a direction to speak of for him, despite so many potential opponents. Matt D Posted May 2, 2018 Report Posted May 2, 2018 If they put him on tv every week, I'll actively seek out that match. That's not true for anyone on the roster (except for maybe Dustin if they gave him time) right now. Quote
Zoo Enthusiast Posted May 2, 2018 Report Posted May 2, 2018 BIG CASS IS AMAZING I’m interested to see what this match looks like. Looking forward to the card as a whole. Quote
Log Posted May 2, 2018 Report Posted May 2, 2018 BIG CASS IS AMAZINGIm interested to see what this match looks like. Looking forward to the card as a whole. Same here. I feel like if Big Cass is ever going to have a good singles match, this is going to be it. Quote

I did not know that Bryan worked the dark match vs Nakamura after 205 Live when I posted that during the middle of the show last night. Humble apologies for my ignorance. Quote
Mad Dog Posted May 3, 2018 Report Posted May 3, 2018 I've said it before. It's really a shame that Pete Dunne wasn't around in the mid 2000s and in that RoH/IWA:MS/JAPW ecosystem having great matches. Quote
Mad Dog Posted May 3, 2018 Report Posted May 3, 2018 I feel like all Kona Reeves needs is a stuffed cat and he's Hiromi Takahashi. Quote
Mad Dog Posted May 3, 2018 Report Posted May 3, 2018 I really kind of wish they would leave Full Sail on a regular basis to get some different crowds. The Full Sail crowd feels really burnt out. Quote
sek69 Posted May 3, 2018 Report Posted May 3, 2018 It's weird, I know Backlash was May 6th, but I was still surprised to get the WWE emails "THIS SUNDAY" about it. Show feels like it's still weeks away. Quote
Mad Dog Posted May 3, 2018 Report Posted May 3, 2018 Hey remember when no one wanted to see Randy Orton vs. Jeff Hardy a decade ago? Quote
Mrzfn Posted May 4, 2018 Report Posted May 4, 2018 I thought it was a Jeff/Orton PPV main event that supposedly popped a surprisingly high buyrate in that time? Quote
Strummer Posted May 4, 2018 Report Posted May 4, 2018 Yes it did. Royal Rumble 2008. That's when they finally started pushing Jeff as an on again off again main event type guy. Quote

Alucard Posted May 5, 2018 Report Posted May 5, 2018 Must have got moved in the Superstar Shakeup, since that's when Raw went up and SDL went downwards last year. I loved Orton/Hardy in 08 and am looking forward to it tomorrow, think it could be quite good with time. I'm reminded of the first two Orton/Christian matches in 2011 that were face v. face being excellent. Quote
