Johnny Sorrow
It was that weird place he goes, ala him hating CM Punk for all kinds of personal weird reasons. Oh come on. I don't remember what it was with that. But the dude seemed to really have a dislike for Punk that felt like more than, "I'm not a fan of his wrestling." I havve no idea what for. Boondocks Kernoodle
You mean "he's jealous because Punk fucked Maria" but that's not really true.
kjh
Usually when wrestling journalists have a weird hatred for someone, it's because one of their friendly sources is burying them something fierce. Remember Wade Keller's weird hatred of Chris Jericho years ago.
sek69
As mentioned before, Bryan has a strong dislike for both excessive stiffness and people bullying like Bob Holly. I don't want to read too much into it, maybe he's thinking that Michelle feels that she can fuck with the newbies now because of her martial status? Cox
Has anybody read the new style for F4W? The new format of one essay, briefly covering the news, and TV reports is a big improvement, as it focuses on what Bryan does best and gets away from the redundant material between the WON and F4W. kjh
Yeah, it's a good move. Bryan's had some interesting ideas for cover stories the last couple of weeks, hopefully he can keep it up.

Cox
Bryan does something well?I didn't say he did it well, just that compared to everything else he does, the TV recaps were the best. Besides, I'm trying to prove Beast wrong here, every once in a while we do have nice things to say about the F4W Empire!

Johnny Sorrow
You mean "he's jealous because Punk fucked Maria" but that's not really true.Nah, I'm not so dopey that I thought THAT was true. But Alverez criticizes lots of wrestlers, it's his job. But around a year or two ago his criticisms of Punk just came off as if Punk ran over his dog and I have idea why. And I know he's against unnessecery stiffness, and rightly so. But the guy has detested McCool far more than any other mediocre current WWE Woman wrestler recently, gone off on how "talented" similar stiffs like Alicia Fox is and his "She'll get hers" came off really weird. Also, his changes to his newsletter make total sense. He said himself "Why do we need two Observers?"

Typical Bryan though he waited until his subscribers stopped bitching about it to do it.

rovert
In fairness to Wade he dumped on Waltman big time during the TNA on Mondays stint basically saying he was taking up roster space and was out of shape.
tomk
Bryan does something well? I have never had any problem with his punctuation. He does some nice narrative pieces. I remember liking the piece he did about touring with a retiring Buddy Wayne around 2003. I don't want toe ever read his analysis but he can write narrative well. rovert
Does anyone know what Arn Anderson was going to suggest to Buddy Wayne in that piece? Book him on the next set of tapings, trainer role, contract???
Cox
It was probably just wrestling talk. Wrestlers all the time claim they'll get a job somewhere or that they'll put a good word in or whatever, and it rarely actually leads to anything. It was just the way Bryan told the story it just seemed like something "substantial" or promising but Buddy Wayne in Buddy fashion just shut Arn down before he said anything by saying he was DONE. Sean Liska
A few highlights of Ben's article: "The world's oldest profession may be based on an exchange of cash for a nickname for cats, but, to steal a line from The Larry Sanders Show, this ain’t that. This is professional wrestling. It is a business that trades on heart, conflict and choices. In other words: character." "There is a segment of people the wrestling business that fashion themselves masters of emotional storytelling. These people believe that showing a range and a supposed depth of human emotion is essential to great storytelling. They are wrong. Storytelling is about character and intractable conflict. It is about decision and revelation. Nowhere in storytelling does it state that a man must degrade himself, or beg for one last chance, or wallow in self-pity." "The boos rooted in contempt for his wrestling ability and manner turned into boos lined with disgust for him being a coward. Have him quit, have him get fired or think of another option. Just don’t let his time as a subservient wussie kill his ability to draw money down the road."
Jingus
Nowhere in storytelling does it state that a man must degrade himself, or beg for one last chance, or wallow in self-pity.Yeah. Like that fucking hack Shakespeare, for example. That idiot always made his protagonists doubt themselves and commit unspeakably horrible acts. Clearly he didn't know anything about storytelling. The Tragedie of Hamlet, Prince of Denmark would have totally been better if the babyface had just Hammed Up and kicked the heel's ass, instead of whining about all his insecurities for three hours in a row. Resident Evil
Can someone summarsize the Cena angle? Is he acting like a wimp in it? That could be a dangerous thing to do especially since from what I've seen and heard, Cena has for the most part been the opposite of a wimp.
