Ring Announcer: David Crockett.

Sweet Brown Sugar vs Col Debeers

(Before referee Nick Patrick could ring the bell, Debeers takes the mic from Crockett with a disgusted look on his face)

Debeers: When I signed with the National Wrestling Alliance, I did so understanding that I would have to put up with the foolishness inherent to American culture. *Boo* I did so knowing full well that you as a nation had long since fallen from any grace you had ever possessed. *Booo* And yet in only my second match I find that the incompetence of NWA officials has already exceeded my ability to tolerate. *Boos getting steadily louder* One need only look at a man, and I use that term in the most technical sense possible, such as (Debeers looks like he just swallowed something particularly foul) Sweet Brown Sugar to realize that he has no business interacting with a man such as myself unless it is to get on his hands and knees and shine my boots! *Crowd is definitely pissed now & SBS is seething* The only reason the NWA should allow this degenerate and his bloated companion into the building is to pick up the garbage after all the civilized people leave! *The boos are almost deafening as Debeers looks to continue but before he can, SBS sprints across the ring and nails the towering South African with a dropkick that sends him flying into the corner. Brown pounces on Debeers as Patrick rings the bell while the crowd erupts)

The first few moments is SBS bouncing the bigger man around the ring even scoring a couple pin attempts but when the Col catches him coming off the ropes with a lariat it signals an irreversible turn of the tide. Debeers pounds on the fan favorite clearly venting his frustration at the embarrassing beginning to the match. He batters Brown from pillar to post before finally finishing it with his face first Piledriver. As abhorrent as you may find his views, you can't deny that Debeers has the potential to make massive waves in the NWA.

The South Pacific Connection (Siva Afi & Cocoa Samoa) vs Radiance (Jimmy Del Ray & Chic Donavon) w/"Sensational" Sherri Martel

The Polynesian duo have no patience for Del Ray & Donovan's preening and posing, tearing into the arrogant pairing with blistering chops and headbutts. Sherri has to pull her men to the floor to help them regroup. When they re-enter the ring, the match is much more even with Radiance's teamwork and willingness to bend the rules, with plenty of help from Sherri, providing the SPC with a hard fought battle. The end sees things break down a bit with all four men in the ring culminating in a double headbutt to Donavon for the win. As she lead her team away, Sherri was overheard telling her men "don't worry boys, this isn't over".

Winners challenge for the NWA United States Tag Team Titles at Fright Night.

Spartanburg Vice (Jerry Bryant & Lou Winston) vs The New Breed (Chris Champion & Sean Royal)

This one wastes no time breaking down with the match starting with a pier-six brawl. While Theodore Long manages to enforce periods of order, the two teams are never to far from throwing the rules out the window. Sean Royal is the man to take advantage of this chaos as he retrieves a chain from his jacket pocket and decks Bryant with it while Long is trying to get Champion & Winston out of the ring. Long turns around and makes three seconds later, The New Breed have punched their tickets to the Omni.

NWA World Television Title.

"Black Magic Norman Smiley(c) w/Ms Linda vs "Jumping" Joe Savoldi

Savoldi's fast paced athleticism creates a fine contrast to Smiley's grounded technical grappling leading to a contrast of styles that has the fans hooked throughout. Simpson is in his partner's corner cheering him on which ultimately cost him as the New Breed came down and pearl harbored Simpson causing Savoldi to get distracted allowing Smiley to catch him in the "Norman Conquest". Savoldi taps quickly and as soon as he can, he bolts from the ring to help fight off his & Simpson's next challengers. The two teams have to be separated by security as Smiley & Linda stand proud in the ring.

Starrcade Cup Block B match.

"Exotic" Adrain Street w/Ms Linda vs Abdullah the Butcher w/Ox Baker

You may never find two opponents as different as each other as these two. Street tries his usual brand of mind-games which Abby utterly no-sells opting to just attack with his full fury. Street, seeing his usual strutting isn't an option, buckles down and fights back showing the Arabian madman just how violent he can get. They have a intense brawl which could go either way until two men make their way to ringside. Both in sleeveless shirts & camo pants with crew cuts and a crazed look in their eyes. Commentary are shocked as they identify the men as Luke Williams & Butch Miller, The Sheepherders! The two notorious New Zealanders lurch to ringside and began approaching.....Ms Linda who is visibly uncomfortable at the wild-eyed pair getting in her space. They exchange brief but tense conversation before the Sheepherders lunge forward and grab Linda! The resulting scream gets Street's attention and he rushed over and grabs Miller through the ropes which results in Williams nailing him with a forearm before the duo pull him to the floor and start putting the boots to him! They stomp away until Dundee & Smiley rush down with Haystacks lumbering behind. They pull the Sheepherders off of Street at start a brawl which get taken to the next level when Col Debeers & Jonathan Boyd run down to join in and join in on the side of the Sheepherders! Abby is trying to join in and is holding him back! It's utter pandemonium as David Crockett announces over the mic that the decision is.... Adrian Street wins by disqualification! Ox is furious! He starts bellowing in Long's face but the ref isn't backing down. Eventually Ox loses it and Heart Punches Theodore Long! Commentary send us to commercial as security desperately tries to settle things down.

Starrcade Cup Block B match.

Bruiser Brody vs "Nature Boy" Buddy Landel w/JJ Dillon

Block B has come down to this, whomever wins here will move on to Fright Night for a shot at the world title. You can tell how hungry Brody is as he stomps around the ring howling to the audience. Landel has a problem, he undoubtedly wants this victory just as badly as his opponent but that desire is clearly at war with another just as powerful urge, to place as much distance between Brody and himself as he physically can. The result is him spending so much time stalling that Brody finally snaps, reaches through the ropes and pulls Landel into the ring by his ears. He then spends the bulk of the match ping ponging the so called "real Nature Boy" around the ring which the crowd eats up. The end sees Landel trying to regroup on the apron only for Brody to try to bring him back inside with a suplex. However as everyone is focused on that, Dillon reaches in and grabs Brody's leg causing the big man to fall backwards with Landel landing on top. JJ keeps ahold of the massive legs of Brody until the ref counts to three! Buddy Landel is going to Fright Night! Dillon rushes into the ring and he & Landel act like they just won the Super Bowl. Their celebration comes to an abrupt halt courtesy of a pair of big boots by Brody. We go off the air to the sight of the winner out cold as the loser marches around the ring hussing with the fans.

We get a pre-taped promo from Col Debeers, Jonathan Boyd & The Sheepherders. Debeers does the talking and says that Ms Linda's crew are a disgrace to the Commonwealth. Says that her Majesty's Commonwealth deserves more than to be represented by a "prancing fop (Street), the biggest failure Australian wrestling has ever produced (Dundee) and a up-jumped Kaffir" though he acknowledges that Haystacks "could do good service if he only choose better company". Says that he has assembled a group of men who represent the true excellence the Commonwealth gives to the world and they have come to show "this ignorant Americans what proper representatives of her majesty's Commonwealth can truly do".

Solie recaps the final score of Block B and confirms that the Starrcade Cup finals at Fright Night will be Dusty Rhodes vs Buddy Landel.

Awesome job with the pre-match promo of Col. DeBeers.  I remember how much  hated him as a kid.  His whole uniform with the beret and that stupid stick he held in his fingers.  Great job bringing back awful memories.

A lot of chaos on these cards which the Southern fans loves.  The whole Exotic Adrian/Abbie match got crazy.  I would have been won rooting for the heart punch by Ox on Teddy.  Not sure why, but I always liked Ox in a scary kind of way.

Fright Night is shaping up to be awesome!

Damn! Debeers is getting nuclear heat! This is going to be huge.

SPC get the hard fought win, but Sherri seems to have a plan. This will be another fun tag feud.

New Breed defeat their rivals Spartanburg Vice to earn a US tag title shot.

New Breed don't waste any time by attacking US champs S&S. Immediate heat. You've done an amazing job with all your teams. Very competitive division.

Street vs. Abby! The visual alone would sell this match. All sorts of craziness as the Sheepherders arrive along with Debeers and Boyd! Things are going to get nuts!

Brody destroys Landel, but somehow the "Nature Boy' walks out victorious and alive. Dusty vs. Landel for a world title shot. Bring it on!

Worldwide,

Tough Guy Inc. look strong as they head into a 6 man title match.

Yamada vs. Smiley could steal the show.

The Commonwealth feud is going to be money!

Fright Night is stacked! This will set the tone for Starrcade. Honestly. I could see Flair, Hansen, Dusty and Landel all headline Starrcade. The heat is on! BTW, nice job booking The Boss.

From the Omni in Atlanta GA, the National Wrestling Alliance is proud to present.....

image.png.f11f7225dccad9bd6e39b95a96bb7a8c.png

(After a intro video hyping the major angles of the night with suitably spooky imagery throughout, we cut to a sweeping shot of a jam-packed Omni with several close-ups of fans in their Halloween costumes. The camera cuts to ringside where Bob Caudle & Tony Schiavone are standing dressed as a mad scientist and Dracula respectively. They hype the card before sending us to the ring where Bruce Springsteen will sing the national anthem.)

American Flag With Our National Anthem Lyrics" Metal Sign - Pin-Ups For Vets StoreNWA World Six Man Tag Team Titles

"Lone Star" Brian Adidas & The Grapplers(c) defeat Tough Guy Inc (Don Bass Duke Myers Big Daddy Cyrus) when The Grappler pinned Myers with a Lariat.

NWA United States Tag Team Titles

The S&S Express (Joe Savoldi & Shaun Simpson)(c) defeat The New Breed (Chris Champion & Sean Royal). The New Breed were lining up to hit the Express with the title belts when Spartanburg Vice ran down & pulled the titles from their hands. The ensuing argument allowing Savoldi & Simpson to come up behind with in-stereo O'Connor rolls to retain.

NWA World Television Title.

"Black Magic" Norman Smiley(c) w/Ms Linda vs"Shooting Star" Keiichi Yamada went to a 20 time limit draw. It seemed the two had come to an agreement to go five more minutes when Col Debeers stormed the ring and assaulted both men hitting both with face first Piledrivers until Adrain Street & Bill Dundee came down forcing the Col into retreat.

NWA World Tag Team Titles

The Commonwealth (Adrian Street & Bill Dundee(c) w/Ms Linda defeat The Killer Bees (B. Brian Blair & Jim Brunzell) by DQ when the Sheepherders attacked Street & Dundee. The Bee's were clearly angry at being cost their chance to win the titles and jumped into the fray leading to a three-way brawl which security had to break up.

Starrcade Cup Finals.

"Nature Boy" Buddy Landel w/JJ Dillon defeats "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes. Lots of character in this match with Landel playing the cocky prick to a tee and Rhodes having the crowd in the palm of his hand the whole match. The finish sees Dillon get on the apron to distract the ref which earns him a "Bionic Elbow" for his efforts. As the ref is making sure Dillon gets off the apron, Landel catches Rhodes with a uppercut to the uprights before pulling him into a schoolboy and putting his feet on the ropes for good measure.

(Before the main event begins we get a graphic announcing Starrcade 87 which will air live on Pay Per View Thanksgiving night from the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro NC.)

NWA World Heavyweight Title.

"Nature Boy" Ric Flair(c) defeats NWA United States Champion Stan "The Lariat" Hansen w/JJ Dillon. Hansen surprised many by holding his own during several exchanges on the mat and Flair proved his toughness by standing toe-to-toe with the Texan, repeatedly trading knifedged chops for stiff forearms. At around the 40 minute mark, JJ signals to the back which draws out the Andersons. Whatever they were planning never materializes as Bruiser Brody bulldozes them both with his chain before whipping the two of them. Dillon, desperate to salvage the situation, actually summons enough courage to club Brody from behind.....to literally zero effect save for pissing Brody off. Dillon realizes his mistake and takes off running leading to a chase around ringside and into the back. In the ring Hansen, seeing the debacle outside, opts to finish things his way and runs the ropes for the Lariat. However just as he's about to make contact, Flair ducks under while grabbing his arm pulling Hansen down in a backslide for a surprise three count! While the crowd is obviously focused on the celebrating Flair, the camera picks up a furious Hansen yelling "That bastard Brody's gonna pay for this!" Just as the show ends.

Fright Night is here and the Boss gets things going.

Tough Guy Inc. are worthy challengers but Adias and the Grapplers are in the zone.

Love that finish as Spartanburg Vice save the day for S&S. The New Breed are going to be looking for payback.

I can't believe it, but Debeers gets even more heat as he ruins overtime in a classic TV title bout.

Sheepherders follow Debeers and ruin the world tag title bout. Now the Sheepherders have to deal with the Commonwealth and the Bees.

Landel cheats his way to Starrcade. Dusty really had the fans energized, what a shame. The Starrcade Cup added so much excitement this past month.

After all sorts of craziness, Flair eeks out the win over Hansen. But look what we have going into Starrcade. Nature Boy vs. Nature Boy for the world title and looks like Hansen vs. Brody. Not to mention it's in Greensboro. Starrcade is going to be epic!!!

Good event that has been built up so well.

First highlight for me was DeBeers coming out and taking care of both Smiley and Yamada.  I think this proves that he is well above the TV title already and the NWA is on notice.  Not sure that this looks good for the two in the actually match as they were both destroyed in an instant by DeBeers.  A title change could be in the near future

I like the controversy at the end of the tag title match.  I think a good show continues to build angles and now we have to see where this goes.  Good booking.

I was surprised but like Landel getting the best of Dusty here.  Landel vs Flair is a great idea and maybe we get your take on this Nature Boy rivalry down the road.

One thing I was not surprised at was Brody holding his own against Flair.  Hansen was a wildman in the ring and not sure I saw him go down very often.  Hansen vs Brody!!!  WOW that will be awesome.

Nice job with Fright Night

Previously recorded & airing on 11/5/87 on the USA Network.

On Commentary: Bob Caudle Tony Schiavone

Ring Announcer: David Crockett

"The Haitian Sensation" Tyree Pride vs "Chief" Joe Lightfoot

A fun opener based around Pride using his speed & agility to frustrate the larger Lightfoot. The Chief's brawling does do a number on the Haitian star who spends a good portion of the bout fighting from underneath. The finish comes outta nowhere with Lightfoot whipping Pride into the corner only for the popular Port-au-Prince naitve to scale the ropes and come off with a crossbody for the sudden win. Lightfoot was in shock after the bell and had a passionate argument with the ref on wether or not he was sure that was a three count.

"Shooting Star" Keiichi Yamada "Super Rookie" Hiroshi Hase vs Tough Guy Inc (Don Bass & Duke Myers)

Both sides are looking for something of a reset, Yamada was unsuccessful in capturing the TV title caught in the crossfire of the brewing Commonwealth civil War while the Tough Guys went down in defeat in a effort to win the six man titles. Bass & Myers lay some stiff shots on the Japanese tandem. However Hase's grappling ability combined with Yamada's athleticism turn the tide with Yamada synching the win with the "Shooting Star Press" on Bass.

The South Pacific Connection (Siva Afi & Cocoa Samoa) vs The Minnesota Wrecking (Arn & Ole Anderson) w/JJ Dillon

With Arn giving his full attention to the Starrcade Cup as of late, the Andersons haven't been a prominent presence in the tag division. You wouldn't know that by watching them however with the former World Tag Team Champions picking up right where they left off with crisp teamwork and arm-based offense. Afi & Samoa put up quite the fight leaving red marks across both Horsemen's chests. As firey as their performance is it isn't enough with Afi falling to Spinebuster from Arn. Now that they're focused again, one wonders how long it will take the Anderson's to get back into the tag title picture?

The Killer Bees (B. Brian Blair & Jim Brunzell) vs The Sheepherders (Butch Miller & Luke Williams)

Williams & Miller caused quite the ruckus at Fright Night when they interrupted the World Tag Title match to attack Street & Dundee which also earned them the ire of Brunzell & Blair leading to the Bees demanding a match tonight. The New Zealanders tore into their opponents with a borderline feral fury with the referee repeatedly threatening them with disqualification. Give the Bees credit because they give as good as they get leading to a tense back-and-forth match. The finish sees the chaos taken to another level as Street & Dundee decide to return the favor and rush the ring leading to another six man brawl with security scrambling to keep the three teams apart.

(The next bout is scheduled to be Col Debeers challenging Norman Smiley for TV title. However before the bell rings, the Col grabs the mic from Crockett at ringside)

Col: Allow me to make myself perfectly clear, my actions at Fright Night were meant to demonstrate two things, exactly how far you and the pack of degenerates you travel with fall short of being worthy representatives of the Commonwealth and perhaps more importantly, it was clear you needed to be put in your place boy. That a hoodlum like you was even allowed to step foot in the United Kingdom was a disgrace of the highest order let alone be allowed to pranse about as if you are a champion worthy of such a illustrious nation. The idea that the NWA would expect a man of my stature to lower myself to share this ring with someone like you is an ubsurdity of the highest order. I was prepared to allow you to leave with whatever scrap of dignity I left you with but one of my comrades pointed out that the NWA television title deserves far better than to be held by a thug like you and that if I wouldn't relive you from it, he would. So without any further ado, allow me to introduce you to your next NWA World Television Champion, Lord Jonathan Boyd!

NWA World Television Title

"Black Magic" Norman Smiley(c) w/Ms Linda vs "Lord" Jonathan Boyd w/Col Debeers.

By the time Boyd makes it into the ring, Smiley is positively seething and jumps Boyd as soon as he enters the ring. Smiley is so furious he forgoes his usual scientific approach in favor of trying to beat the barrel chested Australian into submission. This plays into the challenger's hands however and he's able to repeatedly use his superior size and strength to turn the match in his favor. Eventually Smiley calms down enough to attempt to apply the "Norman Conquest" but Boyd escapes by running Smiley into the turnbuckle. He then capitalizes by locking in the "Iron Claw" and while the champion struggles with all his might, the Aussie's grip is too strong with Smiley eventually being held down for a three count. Jonah Boyd is your new television champion claiming a major victory in the battle for the future of the Commonwealth.

Great week of TV shows.  I really like the depth of your tag team division and it showed here with the Andersons, S.P. Connection, Killer Bees, Sheepherders!  I am interested to see, as you called it, the rebuild of the Andersons.

Also, awesome job getting such heat for DeBeers.  I admit that I am really into the promos here at Dawn of War and you have got him and his agenda down pat!  Great work.

The Haitian Sensation shocks Chief Joe to open the show on a high note.

Good to see Yamada and Hase back on track. I think they will be serious contenders in 1988.

The SPC put up a fight but the Andersons are back and focused.

I'm loving the 3 way chaos between the Commonwealth, Sheepherders and Bees. Cool program.

Debeers is quickly becoming the NWA's top heel and that's saying something.

After that berating, Smiley might've been to emotionally fired up as Boyd ends up with the TV title. Surprising moment for sure.

Worldwide,

This show has been a great forum for solid showcases.

Former TV champ Wright gets another chance at the title next week. Should be very interesting.

3 title bouts signed for Starrcade! I would purchase the pay per view on these matches alone.

Tom "MegaMan" McGee vs Ron Slinker

While Slinker's martial arts credentials certainly gave McGee trouble with the Karate champion scoring several punishing blows, the former TV champion overcame the barrage to score his slingshot legdrop for the victory.

Good & Plenty (Ray Candy & Sweet Brown Sugar) Zodiac & Jason the Terrible

The former Six Man Tag champs have been in a rut since losing the gold and it was clearly grating on them, with the masked duo launching a all-out assault from the opening bell. Candy & Sugar aren't keen to let anyone push them around leading to a surprisingly physical match. The fight put up by their opponents just seem to drive Zodiac & Jason further over the edge leading to Jason seeming to snap and floor Candy with a sickening headbutt. Instead of going for the cover however, he mounts the big man and rains down headbutts until referee Nick Patrick has to intervene and stop the match citing Candy's inability to defend himself. There's an uncomfortable quiet as medics tend to a bloody Candy while Jason & Zodiac are clearly happy to be back on the winning track.

Cocoa Samoa vs "Gigolo" Jimmy Del Ray w/"Sensational" Sherri Martel

The first of two singles encounters between rival teams for tonight sees Samoa light Del Ray's chest up with stinging chops while Del Ray leans into his superior wrestling ability. Cocoa had his foe up for a Samoan drop when Martel got on the apron distracting the ref allowing her man to rake Cocoa's eyes before pulling him down in a crucifix for the tainted win.

"The Polynesian Prince" Siva Afi vs "Golden Boy" Chic Donavon w/"Sensational" Sherri Martel

A rematch of the encounter that started this rivalry, there seemed to be a little extra heat to this one. Several moments changes culminate in Afi hitting his jumping headbutt outta nowhere to end tonight with a score of 1-1.

"Shooting Star" Keiichi Yamada vs Col Debeers

Debeers may have claimed his actions at Fright Night were dedicated to putting Smiley in his place, Yamada took exception to being collateral damage and demand a match with NWA officials reportedly telling the Col he wouldn't be able to back out of this one like he did last week. Yamada gave the imposing Afrikaner his toughest test to date, blitzing him with highspeed offense and scoring several near falls. However a missed "Shooting Star Press" created an opening which Debeers immediately capitalized on with the face first Piledriver. The Johansburg naitve may have been bent over and sucking wind but his undefeated streak was intact and one could sense that for Debeers, that was enough.

NWA World Television Title

"Lord" Jonathan Boyd(c) vs "British Magician" Steve Wright

Curiously, Boyd seemed to be hesitant to engage in any rulebreaking behavior, perhaps out of respect for his opponent who is himself a resident of the Commonwealth. The result of this is a competitive but clean contrast of styles with Wright's pure technical style clashing with Boyd's straight forward brawling. Wright nearly puts Boyd out with a sleeper hold but the Aussie gets out by charging forward and ducking his head through the ropes causing Wright to collide with the top rope throat first. Seeing what may be his best opportunity to retain his title, Boyd looks on the "Iron Claw" and after a fierce struggle is able to hold Wright down for a three count.

Mega Man scores an impressive win over a 13 time Karate champion.

I thought Zodiac and Jason were winding down, but man you put some major heat on them tonight.

Sherri comes through for the Gigolo.

Afi wasn't playing around.

Yamada came with his working boots on, but it only took one mistake for Debeers to pull it out. Debeers has become a big time player in the game. Excellent job.

It shows how much respect Wright has earned if Boyd keeps it clean.

Worldwide,

Always good seeing Fernandez and Parsons on TV.

Grappler 2 is gunning for Boyd.

Looking forward to the tag team battle royal. I'm doing the same thing for SuperClash. I just love this idea.

You know Starrcade is going to be huge if Ray Charles is kicking things off.

"The Haitian Sensation" Tyree Pride vs "Chief" Joe Lightfoot

Pride defeated Lightfoot in a minor upset two weeks ago & the Chief was so shocked he insisted on a rematch. Pride's superior  speed continued to be his greatest weapon though Lightfoot had a bit better time keeping the match at his preferred pace. The finish sees Pride getting into position for his flying Bodypress only for Lightfoot to trip and "accidentally" knock the referee into the ropes crotching Pride on the top turnbuckle. Lightfoot scales the ropes and brings his opponent down with a superplex to win round 2. Might we see a rubber match soon?

"Jumping" Jim Brunzell vs Luke Williams

Brunzell certainly had his hands full with the New Zealand wildman who took the Bee's best shots and kept coming back for more. Things start to break down when Butch Miller runs to ringside. Though security intercepts him, the commotion causes enough of a distraction for Williams to grab the New Zealand flag he brought to the ring & strike Brunzell in the ribs while Miller was escorted to the back. Apparently wanting to make it look good for the ref, Williams picks his foe up for a gutbuster followed by the inevitable three count.

B. Brian Blair vs "Superstar" Bill Dundee w/ Ms Linda

As credited as Blair is in tag team wrestling, his lack of experience in singles action puts him at a distinct disadvantage against the veteran Dundee. Blair fought hard but the Australian born Superstar always found a way to cut off his momentum. Dundee looked to finish things with "Bomb's Away" only for Blair to roll through ending up on top for the upset victory.

"Exotic" Adrain Street w/ Ms Linda vs Butch Miller

The story of this match is Street not only out-wrestling Miller but being able to stand his ground when the mad Kiwi tried to turn the match into a brawl. After a physical match, Street is able to lock Miller in a cross-face chicken wing with the Sheepherder eventually passing out after a frantic escape attempt.

NWA World Television Title

"Lord" Jonathan Boyd(c) vs The Grappler 2

Nothing fancy here with the Aussie & Texan having a good ol' fashioned game of "who can hit the other guy harder?". After a intense fight that leaves both men bruised, Grappler 2 runs the ropes for a Lariat but Boyd ducks under it and when the masked man turn around Boyd clamps on the Iron Claw. Using his own leg, Boyd is able to sweep Grappler 2 off his feet and with great strain is able to hold him down for three.

Tag Team battle royal. Winners challenge for the NWA United States Tag Team Titles at Starrcade. Teams have been eliminated when both members have been thrown over the top rope.

Order of elimination....

Spartanburg Vice & the New Breed rush each other leading to a spot where Lou Winston tosses Sean Royal at the exact moment Chris Champion eliminates Jerry Bryant before they start brawling with each other.....

allowing Fidel Sierra to hit a double clothesline sending them both out.

Ray Candy gets a measure of payback by eliminating Jason the Terrible.

Cocoa Samoa is eliminated by Radiance working together.

JImmy Del Ray is eliminated by Siva Afi.

Zodiac is eliminated by Hiroshi Hase

Hase is eliminated by Ricky Santana immediately afterwards.

Fidel Sierra shocks the crowd by bench pressing Sweet Brown Sugar and throwing him into Ray Candy eliminating both members of Good & Plenty at the same time.

Siva Afi is eliminated by Chic Donavon & Ricky Santana.

Chic Donavon is eliminated after a miscommunication with Fidel allows Yamada to throw him over.

After a few minutes fighting both men, Yamada seems to have Santana gone only for him to land on the apron. Santana then proceeds to grab Yamada in a front-face lock and begins shouting at Sierra. Fidel nods and rushes over sending Yamada over at the cost of eliminating his own partner.

Winners: Los Cubanos!

I've always been a fan of mid card feuds. I'm enjoying the Pride/Lightfoot matches.

Luke gets the tainted win over Brunzell to keep the heat going.

Blair scores a huge upset over Dundee. That's a confidence builder.

Don't let Street's appearance fool you. He can get the job done.

Boyd continues his dominance with his iron claw.

Los Cubanos punch their ticket to Starrcade by winning the tag battle royal.

Worldwide,

Stud Stable, Mega Man and DWBs get in good wins.

WOW! Haystacks vs. Boyd at Starrcade! Can't wait.

That Starrcade card is stacked! All the matches have heat and will no doubt deliver.

You continue to showcase your consistency and the NWA is better for it. Starrcase 87 looks like to be the big times for the NWA and by golly you've got a card that is second to none. I am wondering how things will shake out going into 88. I do like the trajectory of Flair... I wonder who will survive Hansen v Brody... then the tag team scene has got a lot of contenders... NWA has all the foundations to start up 88 with fuel in the fire.

Great buildup to Starrcade.  I am really interested in seeing the Flair-Landel match.  I have heard stories that the NWA was poised to put the belt on Landel in real life.  Either way, you have an awesome champion going into 88.  The other match that I can't wait to see which direction you go is Brody and Hansen.  Both men were pretty unstoppable in the ring and the winner here will could be the next in line for a title shot.  Great year for the NWA!!

Live on Pay Per View from the Greensboro Coliseum, the National Wrestling Alliance presents the premier wrestling event of the year.

                                                   Mid-Atlantic Wrestling on Thanksgiving | Mid-Atlantic Gateway

(We open the show with a sweeping shot of a packed to capacity Greensboro Coliseum. Cut to Caudle & Schiavone in the booth who hype the card for tonight featuring eight huge matches with every title on the line before they excitingly sending us to a special stage where the legendary Ray Charles will sing the national anthem while playing his beloved piano.)

American Flag With Our National Anthem Lyrics" Metal Sign - Pin-Ups For Vets StoreSpecial Challenge match.

Radiance (Jimmy Del Ray & Chic Donavon) w/"Sensational" Sherri Martel defeat The South Pacific Connection (Siva Afi & Cocoa Samoa). Sherri sprayed something in Cocoa's eyes while he was on the floor. While he was stumbling around blindly, Afi fell victim to a double flapjack.

Open challenge for the NWA World Six Man Tag Team Titles.

(As the champs are warming up in the ring, the familiar sound of "Black Magic" comes over the pa system and we see Zodiac & Jason the Terrible march down the aisle. Curiously there doesn't seem to be a third man with them. They stop at the ring apron and begin shouting threats at the team who cut their own reign short. As the two sides hurl abuse at each other, a imposing figure cuts through the crowd, slides into the ring and blasts both Grapplers with a clothesline to the back. Adidas turns around and finds himself locking eyes with the ANGEL OF DEATH! Before Adidas can act, Zodiac & Jason rush the ring and the bell rings as the now reunited Celestial Trinity stomp away on the champions)

The Celestial Trinity (Zodiac, Jason the Terrible & Angel of Death) defeat "Lone Star" Brian Adidas & The Grapplers(c) when AoD pins Adidas with the "Death Sentence" NEW CHAMPIONS!!!!

NWA World Television Title.

Giant Haystacks w/Ms Linda defeats "Lord" Jonathan Boyd(c) by DQ. What this match lacked in workrate it made up for in heat. While neither man is exactly a fan favorite the Greensboro faithful undeniably got a kick watching the foreign hosses pound on each other. The finish sees Haystacks catching Boyd in a belly-to-belly suplex. We're on the verge of a new champion as Col Debeers rushes the ring and breaks up the count. He helps Boyd up and they begin stomping away on Haystacks. Security tries to break it up only for Boyd & Debeers to lay them all out with a particularly unlucky (black) security guard suffering the Col's face first Piledriver. Finally Norman Smiley runs out with a chair and starts swinging for the fences landing what must be a highly satisfactory shot across the back of Debeers. Boyd grabs the title and helps his comrade up the aisle as Smiley & Haystacks stand tall in the ring.

NWA United States Tag Team Titles.

The S&S Express (Joe Savoldi & Shaun Simpson)(c) defeat Los Cubanos (Fidel Sierra & Ricky Santana) w/Slick when interference from Slick backfired allowing the champs to put Santana away with the "Express Lane"

Double Dog Collar match. Losing team leaves the NWA.

The New Breed (Chris Champion & Sean Royal) defeat Spartanburg Vice (Jerry Bryant & Lou Winston) in a brutal, bloody affair that sees Champion choking Winston out with the chain before he & Royal finish Bryant off with the "Wave of the Future".

3 way dance NWA World Tag Team Titles.

Elimination 1: The Sheepherders eliminate The Killer Bees when Luke Williams takes advantage of the chaos of all 6 men brawling to hit Jim Brunzell with the New Zealand flag.

Elimination 2: The Commonwealth eliminated The Sheepherders. Miller goes to hit Dundee with the flag but Dundee punts him in the nuts before pulling him into a inside cradle with a handful of Miller's pants to retain the gold.

NWA United States Title.

Stan "The Lariat" Hansen(c) w/JJ Dillon vs Bruiser Brody ends in a double count-out as Hansen and Brody were so caught up in the heat of battle fought out of the ring, over the guardrail with them brawling through the crowd as the referee called for the bell.

"Battle of the Nature Boys" NWA World Heavyweight Title.

"Nature Boy" Ric Flair(c) defeats "Nature Boy Buddy" Landel w/JJ Dillon. After 30 that contained just about everything. Technical wrestling, brawling & drama. The end sees Flair setting up the Figure Four but Landel kicked him off with his free leg sending him colliding with the ref. Dillon tried to take advantage of this by sliding the title belt to his client. Landel lines up for a shot but Flair ducks and when Landel wheels around for another try he gets caught with a mulekick. This causes him to drop the title which Flair picks up and after a quick glance to the crowd, who give their vigorous consent, smashed Budro in the head with it. Flair throws the belt away as the ref wakes up and makes the cover. The show ends with Flair celebrating with the live crowd as Dillon helps Landel to the back swearing that this isn't over.

Great event with some very good booking.  With all the extra stipulations, each match took on extra meaning.  I think you are doing an awesome job of building DeBeers and again, he comes out and makes a statement.  Boyd and DeBeers make a great pair.

I was very interesting in what you were going to do with Hansen and Brody.  I like this outcome as we have a chance to see more of it.

Flair is the Real Nature Boy!  Smart move
