How long did it take the good folk here to become bored/less interested/less invested in their e-feds? Four years seems like a long time to play the same computer game every day.

I don't even think TK is bored of AEW. But bookers get exhausted. They all do, even the very best of them. And it's not like he's just the booker of the company, and it's not like he's managing just that company. It's just totally unreasonable, really. I dunno, give Danielson the book for two years after he retires from full time in-ring work.

The reality is that really exciting things don't last. It just can't. That's the nature of things. Thing that last seemingly forever become institutions, like WWE, and nothing is more boring than an institution (of course an institution can be swooshed by waves of being exciting again at times, but because something happens to them, not because of what they are and produce as institutions). Meltzer was talking about the Von Erichs recently, in regard to the movie, as he lived through the period, and basically said that the hot peak of WCCW lasted about one year and a half. When you think about Nitro and when it was the really the super hot and fun program, it lasted about what, two years and a half maybe ? ECW's peak in term of being an underground sensation is about two years, three at most. WWF's peak to me in the 90's lasted about one year and a half too, maybe two in being generous. Lucha Underground had two great seasons. AEW was my favorite promotion ever for about two years and a half. Matters of great intensity can't last by nature.

That being said, as far as delivering great in-ring stuff, AEW is still second to none. And that is enough for me to enjoy that part of them, but I'm not invested like I used to be. Also, they are very much needed in the pro-wrestling landscape and absolutely make things better for everyone, first and foremost the workers themselves, including those not working for them (guys in WWE getting giant contracts can thank Coach TK and the Elite, really).

I've never been involved in an e-fed, but I'm sure I could find a way for it to keep my interest if I was receiving hundreds of millions of dollars to run it. On the boredom/distraction front, though, I've actually been thinking recently about whether any of AEW's issues can be tied to the recent success of the Jaguars. The team was terrible in 2019, 2020, and 2021, but they won their division last year and will probably win it again this year. If you're involved with an NFL team but have outside business interests, a title contender will surely demand more of your attention than a cellar-dweller.

Not to mention Fulham sitting 10th in the premier league despite losing their best striker and their best player potentially on the block to Bayern.  AEW can’t always be the top priority. TK needs to focus one and get a booker to handle the other.

Disco Inferno is, bar none, the most annoying wrestling personality on Twitter. I actually loved the character back in the day but can't stand his obnoxious social media posts. Still, TK should be way above this.

Smooch, smooch! No wonder this guy gets clocked backstage.

Disco's first intelligent, logical tweet?

Wasn't his best buddy Don Callis forced out of Impact cuz of multiple sexual abuse accusations

Actually, not really if I remember right. The thing about Callis, is that there was rumors going around when Scarlett and then Kross (Scarlett's bf) asking to leave the company. But nothing was ever said or even implied by any parts. Plus the timing coincided with Callis being on the leave already, as he clearly was going to AEW eventually. Not saying there was nothing there, but it has not been publicly expressed. Maybe some NDA's were signed, who knows, these are popular in pro-wrestling.

Well, if there's some development to this (and if there's any weight to it, then oh well AEW needs a good new year house cleaning), I wonder who is gonna be the narrator on Dark Side of the Ring about Jericho though.

Media Scrum be like "And a happy new year of course !".

I'm so taking a break from it all after this last big show.  I managed to last until the end of the year thanks to the CC. But my brain needs some pro-rasslin' rest, for sure.

(I say this and everytime something crazy drives me back after a month of two)

The Kylie Rae situation was always going to come back to haunt AEW. Something always seemed off about that. Now we know what.

But I am surprised that Jericho is allegedly involved. Is this the first we've ever heard of him possibly doing anything like this?

People are saying rumors about Jericho being a sex pest have been around since the early 2000s, but idk how credible that is.

Aside from "allegedly" having an affair with Kelly Kelly in 2009 - there's a pic online of them kissing on the lips in a way that no married man could really answer for - I think it comes down to knowing that nothing Chris Jericho has ever done, not a single one of his books, not a single interview he's ever given, not a single episode of his long-running podcast would make one believe he's not a pretty self-centered, ego-driven guy that fully believes he is wrestling's version of a hedonist "rock god."

He's also revealed himself, countless times, to not to be a very smart, thoughtful, or clear-headed guy. He's undoubtedly talented, a great showman, a fine huckster...but his ego is massive and I'm sure he's fairly accustomed to picking up "rats" (most likely his words, not mine) when he's touring with Fozzy or on the party cruise he created for himself.

And so, him coming onto a considerably younger female talent isn't exactly surprising and him not thinking, "Hey, there's a dozen ways this can backfire," is believable too. Especially if alcohol was involved, which it most definitely was (Jericho likes getting drunk, so do I, no judgment, but it does lead to dumb thoughts and poor decisions). I'm sure Chris Jericho has been shot down plenty of times in his life. What he probably didn't think about was that this wasn't some random, "disposable" groupie and that not only has the industry changed a bit in the 12 years since he used his clout to help him fool a model-turned-wrestler into thinking he was hot stuff, but that he's also 50 years old and she was in her 20s and he might not be the irresistible sex magnet he believes he is.

But Jericho has "stroke" (pun not intended, but, yeah, I guess it is) and I can see why a woman wouldn't want to get into a "he said/she said" with a guy at his level. From the outside (and often male perspective), we might say he has more to lose and that this could "ruin him," but that's really not how things work. She has her whole career ahead of her and this will cast a shadow over it much more than it will tarnish Jericho's nearly 30 years of being a major TV wrestling star. He's made his money and will continue to make more. He's got his fans. They'll be singing "Judas" tonight as loud as ever. This story ain't gonna prevent him from an eventual WWE Hall of Fame induction or from charging top dollar on the autograph circuit.

TLDR: Historically egocentric Chris Jericho stepping out on his marriage (again), attempting to use his clout to sleep with a younger woman, and then said younger woman leaving the company because she recognized the disgustingness of the workplace all seems 100% credible to me.

"Man Hits On Woman, Woman Says 'No', Man says 'Cool whatever' "

Tune in to the evening news for more on this ghastly and appalling story.

A senior citizen should not be hitting on a young 20-something girl in the workplace.

Even if that's all that happened, there's a clear power imbalance there.

Surely you understand that.
